Event Report

This was our 4th event and the best one yet. Everyone I spoke to felt the same way. We had a record number of EVs at 60, test drives, foot traffic, and sunshine! EVs available for test drives: Fuccillo Kia brought three Soul EVs, Destination Nissan brought a new LEAF, DePaula Chevrolet brought a new Volt, and the local BMW dealer did not have an i3 in stock so one of their technicians brought his personal i3 for test drives! One of the Soul EVs was sold later that afternoon. Although it was a local event, we had EVs come in from Massachusettes and New Jersey as well.

Speakers at this event:
Doris Davis, Bethlehem Town Board
David VanLuven, Bethlehem Town Board
Pat Fahy, NY State Assemblywoman
John Clarkson, Bethlehem Town Supervisor
Paul Tonko, Congressman
Aaron Mair. Sierra Club President
Mark Warford, Vice Principal, Bethlehem Central Middle School
William Reinhardt, Albany County Legislator

Event Description

Take part in our 4th annual National Drive Electric Week event at the Saturday Delmar Farmers Market.

This is an opportunity for EV enthusiasts and auto dealers to showcase pure electric vehicles as well as plug-in  hybrids to the public in a relaxed open venue free of manufacturer, technical, or political bias. The goal is to get  people excited about modern EV’s and Plugin Hybrid Electric Vehicles while giving them the opportunity to get up  close and personal with them, as well as allowing test drives in some cases. It’s also a chance to help inform the  public about electric vehicles, like any new technology there are still some prevalent misconceptions and lots of  questions that the public has. With a range of EVs on the road, there is an electric car for every lifestyle.

Local dealers will be brining new EVs for test drives. We welcome participation from local car dealerships, EV  owners, renewable energy companies, utility companies, and anyone else that is part of the electric vehicle eco-  system.

 Fun for the whole family:
