Event Report
Councilmember Leslie Pool (District 7) began the morning with remarks on the importance of EVs to Austin's community climate protection goal of net-zero carbon by 2050. We had sliders and grilled cheese prepared by a former Austin Assistant City Manager for City utilities, who is also a chef and owner of a green biker bar called Rolling thunder Roadhouse. The mini-solar electric racers were especially a hit with the kids who migrated over after their soccer practice ended. Both feature presentations by Smart Charge Residential and Austin Energy EV programs were well-attended by more than 30 people with lots of questions for our presenters. We even had an electric drone taking some aerial photos of our event! We look forward to putting on 2017's NDEW Austin event downtown on Electric Drive!
