Event Report

We had the event opened by Satellite Beach City Councilman Steve Osmer who read the official proclamation with the city seal. There were food trucks, Tesla autopark/summon demonstrations, electric bike stunt demos, and the Brevard County Sheriff brought their electric Tron style motorcycle. Four separate solar installers were there as exhibitors as well as a few local dealerships. Tesla Motors even sent a Model S and the portable design studio from Orlando. There were 45 electric vehicles on display and giving ride and drives including home-converted cars and a Zero S Motorcycle. Jim Fenton from the Florida Solar Energy Center gave several speeches about EVs, solar power, and battery technology in between runs of "What is the Electric Car?" movie on a projector inside the Schechter Center. There was a raffle for a few small prizes and gift cards held at the end of the event. Almost 400 attendees were counted!

Event Description

Join us for Tailgate Grilling and EV Thrilling at the 2016 National Drive Electric Week Event- Satellite Beach, FL

For 2016 we have decided to get back to the grass roots style of NDEW and really focus on the amazing electric vehicles available today for the everyday driver. We welcome the public to join us at this event to come experience the thrill of driving electric. 

Much like hanging out before the big game this year we invite you to tail gate with us electric vehicle style.Stop by for games, all day Q&A with EV owners, lunchtime tailgate grilling, & everyone's favorite part of the day EV thrilling!(Ride and Drives) 

We hope that you will join us at this casual, family friendly event to both learn more about and celebrate electric vehicles of all shapes, sizes, and price points. 

EV owners are invited to come bring their electric vehicle as well as a pop up tent to set up for a tailgate style event. As always owners can opt to offer their car as show only or make it available for the ride and drive portion. If you are an EV owner looking to participate this year please contact us join in the fun and become a community resource! 

Last year we had about 35 EVs at the Satellite Beach event.  Let's see if we can double that amount - or more!  This year we should also have at least one, Zero S electric motorcycle!
