Event Report

It was AWESOME!!! More than 90 vehicles, 22 models!
Our Poolesville event has grown to become the largest NDEW event on the east coast, thanks to the support of the Town of Poolesville, the Poolesville Day committee, and local Electric Vehicle (EV) organizations like MD Volt (http://MDVolt.org/), but mostly through the enthusiastic EV owners who share their time, their vehicles and their experiences with the general public. This year we had few members from the Star Wars 501st Stormtroopers, Maryland Old Line Garrison, and George Washington from the Washington Nationals Racing Presidents and an Abraham Lincoln, which provided some great photo opportunities.
We had dealerships, like DARCARS Nissan, King Volkswagen, Sheehy Ford, BMW of Rockville and KIA of America (who brought several cars, staff. goodies and tent). Jim Alvis, Government Affairs for Kia Motors America Corp and Genovation Cars founder and CEO Andrew Saul, maker of the record breaking Corvette GXE attended.

Event Description

WOW! It is only days before the 2016 parade and show!

This year's event is shaping up to be a spectacular event. We are on par with becoming one of the largest National Drive Electric Week car show events on the whole east coast. We are expecting 50 to 70 electric vehicles and more than 10,000 visitors. We have a lot of great give-a-ways, including a $560 GE Level 2 wall mount charger donated by MD Volt. We have a number of dealerships and manufacture reps, like Jean Gough, EV Fleet Business Development Manager from Nissan North America, Inc. and Jim Alvis, Manager at Government Affairs for Kia Motors America Corporation, Washington Office (who is bringing a new Kia Soul EV).

Dealerships will also be there like; DARCARS Nissan Rockville, King Volkswagen of Rockville, BMW of Rockville and we are reaching out to others like; Sheehy Ford Lincoln of Gaithersburg, and Rockville Porsche & Audi (all are welcome to join us). 

And plan to be visited by the Empire!
Members of the Star Wars 501st Legion’s “Old Line Garrison” are planning to attend  Poolesville Day and will be camping out with us at the car show.  This should make for some great photo ops.

Poolesville.Green is hosting the event on Poolesville Day with the Town of Poolesville. 2016 will be bigger and better.Last year, we were the largest NDEW event in the Washington (MD/VA/DC) area with 10,000 people visiting. We are working to include a lot of great give-a-ways for car registrants and visiting guests, to have more activities, speakers and fun. All vehicle owners and volunteers will also get a free shirt and goodies bag. Visitors will be able to test drive some of the EVs (when their owners and dealerships allow).

We are a non-profit and really need your help (note: donations are not required to participate). We are looking for sponsors from as little as $20 dollars on up :)). A fairly standard donation with the most of the benefits starts at $200. The sooner you sponsor, the more your logos will show on our sites, flyers and other event media.
