Event Description
Celebrate
National Drive Electric Week with the New Jersey Sierra Club on
September 14th!
Of course the cleanest ways to get around include walking, biking, and riding public transit. However, millions of people will continue to drive in the near future, and we need to make sure those cars rely on little or no oil. That’s why we are joining with Electric Vehicle advocates at Tesla along with a variety of experts to learn the benefits of plug-in electric vehicles.
At 2PM, you’ll be able to hear experts and local legislators who will address the need to transition to EVs generally and discuss policy required to do so. The most vocal New Jersey state legislators will be in attendance to speak in support of EVs. Experts will be offering information on the importance of EVs to help New Jersey reduce greenhouse emissions, mitigate our impact on climate change, and improve air quality. Programs and policies at the state level are key to getting people to switch to EVs and develop more charging stations. The opportunities increased EV ownership will have on green jobs and our economy will also be emphasized by the speakers.
From 3-7PM, you can sign up for a test drive in electric vehicle or speak to a local EV industry expert. A variety of advocates will be present to speak to and learn from. You’ll also get to hear more about the technology behind EVs and how it will develop in the future. You can even take a look at models via the Sierra Club EV guide and find your local charging station through PlugShare.
The event will take place at the Tesla Store on 530 NJ-17 in Paramus. Use the Register button above to RSVP and confirm your spot. Space may be limited.
