Event Report
This was an awesome day. The EV caravan had a dozen cars driving from Ventura to Ojai and turned a few heads. Driving through the Monterey Shale oil fields with jack pumps working was meaningful. It would be good to have more people on the streets.
The Ojai gathering at the Center for Spiritual Living was wonderful thanks to so many people doing their part so well. We had Six EVs on one side and up to three on the other side of the main drag - Ojai Ave. Signs in the windows and large signs announcing the EVs got the 2-300 vehicles driving by at low speeds to notice the EVs. The brand new tesla in the driveway turned a few heads as well.
We had 30 or more EV owners roaming about - see photo - and another 30-50 people came to look and talk to the drivers. Tesla sent two people from Santa Barbara with a vehicle and gave test drives. The BMW I3 and Ford Focus owners took people out as well.
The organizing time was minimal thanks to great people and thousands of hours sent or ten years.

Event Description
Electric Vehicle drivers from all over Ventura County will be bringing their cars to an EV show case in Ojai on Sunday September 13th from 1 to 3 pm. This is a chance to see a variety of electric vehicles in one place and talk to the people who drive them. The EV Advocates of Ventura County are organizing this event and invite other EV drivers and enthusiasts to join the effort. The showcase is being hosted by:

EV Rally from Ventura to Ojai
The EV Advocates from all over the country and nearby areas will also have a rally that will start in the City of Ventura and drive up to Ojai together. That rally will start with a gathering at the charging stations by the beach near the pier. We will gather at 11:00 to put signs on the vehicles and then caravan along Main Street and up Ventura Ave to the showcase in Ojai.
The showcase is being co-sponsored by the Ojai Valley Green Coalition which is conducting a seminar on “Energy Efficiency – Use Your Power to Affect Climate Change” the day before (also at the Ojai Valley Women’s Club) that will include a discussion on the benefits of electric vehicles and related topics including solar energy and community choice aggregation for renewable energy.

The Center for Spiritual Living will have sandwiches and salad available as part of their bake sale event to welcome people to the showcase and allow the drivers to eat while visiting with each other and with the EV curious who join us.
