Event Report

The 2024 Drive Electric Columbia event took place on September 28th, 2024, at the Soda City Market in downtown Columbia. Hosted in perfect post-hurricane weather, the event showcased the latest electric vehicles (EVs) and advancements in sustainable transportation. Sponsored by McDaniels Porsche, the event drew support from a variety of partners, including Palmetto Clean Fuel Coalition, Sound & Images, Love Chevrolet, Dick Smith Nissan, Dick Dyer Mercedes, and Volvo.

Among the crowd favorites were some unique and high-profile vehicles, including the Tesla Cybertruck, Fisker Ocean, and Porsche Taycan, which generated significant interest. The all-electric Acura ZDX also made its debut, impressing attendees with its cutting-edge technology and sleek design. A major attraction was the electric school bus from Richland School District 1, which highlighted the shift toward greener transportation for public institutions.

The event attracted a mix of EV enthusiasts and curious bystanders, all eager to learn more about the transition to electric vehicles. Informative booths provided insights into clean energy options, charging infrastructure, and environmental benefits. With vehicle hoods up and many interactive displays, attendees had the opportunity to explore the interiors of the cars and learn from both exhibitors and electric vehicle owners.

Overall, Drive Electric Columbia 2024 was a resounding success, bringing together the community to celebrate sustainable innovation and pushing the movement toward greener transportation forward.

Event Description

Join us at the Soda City Market September 28th from 9am - 1pm for the 2024 edition of Drive Electric!  Sponsored by McDaniels Porsche, we'll have EVs on display with local owners to talk about how well driving electric works in South Carolina.  From road trips to skipping gas stations, learn more about what EV's can offer you and your family.

We'll have new and locally owned EVs on display from Porsche, Subaru, VW, Acura, Tesla, Mercedes Benz, Volvo, Polestar, Ford, and many others.
