Every year there is a Denver Metro Green Home Tour where people tour green homes around the metro Denver area. We organized an EV chauffeur program where people touring homes got chauffeured around in EVs. We also organized an EV show after the green home tour was over.Event Description
Calling EV Chauffeurs and "Show-Offs"! The annual Metro Denver Green Homes Tour (https://www.newenergycolorado.org/home-tour) is Saturday, October 5, 2024. Once again, the Tour is is recruiting:
1) EV Chauffeurs to drive interested Tour-goers to homes (the homes are open for touring from 9 am. to 4 p.m); and
2) EV "Show-Offs" to bring their EVs to display at the EV Roundup at the end of the tour from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
The Tour home base this year is at Jefferson Unitarian Church (JUC),14350, W 32nd Ave, Golden, CO 80401. (PLEASE NOTE the change from previous years' venue which was the American Mountaineering Center, aka AMC, which is currently closed for events due to HVAC renovation)
Chauffeurs get free Tour admission and will pick up / return riders at JUC. Chauffeurs may choose how many riders they wish to take and over what timeframes they wish to drive. (The Tour runs from 9 a.m. -4 p.m., but you are free to select the timeframe you wish to be available and are not obligated in any way to drive for the whole duration. Homes range from Golden to Lakewood to Edgewater to Evergreen and to Superior and you are free to determine the ones you are willing to drive to.)
"Show-Offs" (definitely a term of endearment for the Green Homes Tour) will park their cars in a designated area at the JUC from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. and talk to interested Tour-goers about their car's features and the joys of driving an EV.
