Event Report
The highlights of the event were that we had the Tesla Cybertruck available for the first ever test drives in NJ. The truck was busy most of the fair. We also had an Ebike section for test drives, this was run by a cycle shop from town - they had about 5 Ebikes and were busy the whole time.We also had a student team from Rutgers University bring their solar racecar.
We had many dealers show up, we had Teslas, Nissan Ariya, Audi, Acura, BMW, the Ford Mustang, the Rivian, the Lucid, Honda, Chevy Equinox & Blazer, and Kia. The cars were gorgeous!
We had a beautiful weather day, sunny & 75 degrees. Verona has a Public Information Officer who helped with publicity and a massive social media push. We had a DJ and 4 food vendors.
We had 2 big disappointments: we did not get the attendance we anticipated, we had most people from 11:30-12:30, then it tapered off. One of the dealers left at 2p, the whole fair started packing up at quarter to 3 because we just didn't have the attendance. The 2nd disappointment was that there were 7 cars that registered to attend on the NDEW site, I emailed them all several times, and only 1 person showed up. We had spaces set aside for them and their absence was very noted. I'm not sure what happened there?
Event Description
Join us for a National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) event in Verona, NJ, on Saturday, October 5th, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m (Rain date Sunday, October 6th), 257 Fairview Ave. Electric vehicle owners from Verona will share how they drive and charge their EVs. Auto dealers will showcase the latest EV models. Attendees will learn about EVs and charging systems as well as information on NJ State rebates and Federal tax credits. There will also be food vendors, DJ music, and tables on Energy Efficiency in your home / Solar Energy options, Recycling and all things Sustainable!
