Event Report
Drive Electric Cincinnati’s National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) celebration went great with ideal weather!
This was our biggest event of the year with about 200 attendees. We gave over 80 ride/drives with 21 EVs available for ride or test drive, reflecting excellent turnout. The Cybertruck and Hummer EV were out on rides or test drives most of the time. Many attendees took advantage of the opportunity to try out more than one EV model. Other models available for ride/drive included Tesla Model X, Y, and 3; Hyundai Ioniq 5 and 6; Mercedes EQB, Kia EV6, VW ID.4, Lucid Air, F-150 Lightning, Nissan Ariya, Fisker Ocean, Polestar 2, Kia Niro EV, and BMW X5 PHEV.
We had even more “EV Showcase” vehicles available for people to climb in and out and chat with their owners to hear first-hand about the EV ownership experience. We had 44 EVs total, spanning the price range from the beautiful Lucid Air to the affordable Chevy Bolt EV.
In addition to numerous private owners, thanks to these companies for bringing vehicles:
- EVentures Rentals
- Tesla Blue Ash
- Mercedes-Benz of Cincinnati
- BMW of Cincinnati North
Huge thanks to HighGrain Brentwood for providing their excellent site for the event, plus the incentive of a free drink token to encourage everyone to take an EV ride or drive. Some diners in the restaurant came out to see what the excitement was and stayed to chat with EV owners about driving electric. Our event sign on Winton Road had great visibility to drivers-by. Several EV owners spontaneously joined us!

If you would like to learn more about electric vehicles, this event is for you. Check out the EVs, talk to EV owners and ask them questions about driving electric. At the event, sign up to ride in an EV or take a test drive. Take advantage of this event’s amazing opportunity to conveniently test drive multiple EVs to compare! HighGrain offers a free drink token (beer or non-alcoholic drink) to everyone who takes a ride or test drive. We expect huge array of EVs to ride or test drive, from sedans to SUVs to pickup trucks. HighGrain will have an all-electric delivery vehicle on display.
EV Owners: Our largest meet-up of the year! Add your electric car or motorcycle to our EV showcase. Chat with fellow and prospective owners. Please respond via the “Participate” button and tell us what EV you are bringing. Interested in driving on sunshine? We will have EV owners with home solar available to answer questions.
On arrival, stop by the Drive Electric Cincinnati tent to check in for test drives. Thanks to HighGrain for hosting!
