Event Report

Thank you to all who made our tenth annual Solar & EV Expo a success!

Together, we took a ride on an electric school bus and learned about electrifying our school district. We also heard about planning a fossil-fuel free transportation future with Josh Caldwell of the Natural Resources Council of Maine. Jim Tasse got us thinking about safer streets for active transportation, and Mike Dunn, CEBE Board Steward, helped us wrap our heads around getting started with home electrification.

Thank you to all of our local volunteers, including those who shared their vehicles on test ride and drives. We also want to thank W.C. Cressey & Son for bringing the Thomas electric school bus, Luke and GoMaine for information on ride-sharing, Paul Beaver for transporting and powering Romero's, the food vendor, and Evergreen Subaru for providing a Subaru Solterra for test drives.  We'd also like to thank our sponsors: ReVision Energy, Green Wave Electric Vehicles, Lee Auto Malls, Efficiency Maine, EcoHeat Maine, The Nature Conservancy in Maine, Goodwin Chevrolet, Emerson Toyota, Natural Resources Council of Maine, Maine Solar Solutions, Maine Climate Action Now, Drive Electric Maine, Sierra Club Maine, Norway Savings Bank, Maine Conservation Voters.

Event Description

Join us for our tenth annual Solar & EV Expo. Ride in an electric school bus! Ride and drive in locally-owned EVs as well as vehicles from local dealerships. Test ride E-Bikes, learn about heat pumps, check out electric lawn equipment, and talk to local solar installers. Talk ride-sharing, bike and pedestrian safety, public transit, and other ways to get cars (even EVs) off the road. Check out local nonprofits, a food truck, and more.

Vehicles we expect to have available for test rides or drives: Chevy Bolt and EUV, Tesla Model X, Ford Lightning, Hyundai Ioniq5, Subaru Solterra, Kia Niro, and more. We'll also have a Ford E-Transit van available for you to learn about commercial EV options.

Drop in for these informal workshops, which will include plenty of time for Q&A!
