Event Report

Palo Alto's EV Extravaganza was a complete success with 125 participants, 33 EVs and 100 ride and drives given over 3 hours. Highlights included the number of new 1st time EV owners (EV obtained within the last 18 months) who wanted to share the joy of EV driving and all the benefits; participation by numbers of families (Mom, Dad, Kids, even a grandfather in tow) who showed up to test the various EVs; and the overall camaraderie of all the EV drivers!

It was also interesting to hear conversations like: "I've just got an EV and I'm going solar in the next 6 months" or "I've got solar and i'm going to get an EV in the next 6 months!" People recognizing that they can not only power their homes from solar power but also their cars!

Event Description

Come experience the joy of driving electric and join in a celebration of electric vehicles!  Our carbon fighting, zero emission, silent, inexpensive, chariots of fire! 

For the uninitiated, take a test drive or two, get an "EV grin," meet real EV drivers and learn from their experiences. 

And for those with EVs, get your picture with the Nation's first (& only - so far) residential curb-side EV charger and help yourself to some free electrons and a cold drink while sharing your stories with other EV enthusiasts.  

And, rumor has it, we may have our Assemblymember Rich Gordon present for some words of encouragement and congratulations and, for the kids, a Shave Ice truck.
