Event Report
Our day didn't go quite as we hoped as we had continuous rain from the remanents of Hurricane Helene but since it was just rain with no thunder, lightning, or wind we decided to continue on!The City of Hilliard served as our host this year allowing us to take over the Center Street Market parking lot and Columbus City Council presented us with a Resolution to credit us for our continued education and community engagement about electric vehicles. Green Columbus once again joined us bringing a hackberry mini forest of adoptable trees, Columbus Green Spot gave out reusable water bottles, and Electrify Central Ohio engaged with guests about things like heat pumps, induction stoves, and rooftop solar. The Ohio State University and Wilberforce University ECOCar Challenge Cadillac Lyriq was on hand to showcase their program and talk with everyone about their work on the vehicle. PlugOp, a EV Charging Startup, was on site to demonstrate the brand-new Level 2 units in the parking lot and how easy it is to check in using their QR system (no app download required). Buckeye Nissan brought a Nissan Ariya and had a lot of people interested in learning more about it.
We had 30 EVs in attendance. The Zero Motorcycle surprised everyone given the weather, a pair of Mini Coopers were popular since it was our first event with any in attendance and a 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E in Eruption Green with less than 200 miles on the odometer was the newest EV in the show! Of course, we had a great variety with a Nissan Leaf, Chevy BoltEUV , Hyundai Ioniq 5, Tesla Model Y, Ford F-150 Lightning, and more!

Join us for National Drive Electric Week on Sept. 28th from 11 am to 2 pm
National Drive Electric Week 2024 hosted by Drive Electric Columbus will take place on Saturday, September 28th from 11 am to 2 pm at the Center Street Market Parking Lot in Hilliard, Ohio!
What is National Drive Electric Week (NDEW)? NDEW is a nationwide Electric Vehicles awareness campaign, to bring education to the EV curious, and to offer people the opportunity to experience EVs firsthand. We encourage everyone to drop by the Columbus NDEW Event to take part in our fun-filled day.
Beyond our wonderful members bringing their EVs to showcase, we are expecting some dealerships in attendance with vehicles you can test drive. We will have information on the Federal EV Tax Credit, exhibits from other local organizations, swag items to giveaway, and more!
