Event Report
Drive Electric Colorado ran the EV test drives with Xcel Energy as part of the 2024 Denver Auto Show. We received support from Drive Electric Colorado volunteers, Sarian Motorsports, McDonald Automotive Group, Winn Marion, Colorado Energy Office, and Colorado Department of Transportation, and others.A total of 1,518 test drives were conducted and over 51% of people test drove an EV for the first time. The EV test drive lineup included:
Audi Q8
Audi Q4
Polestar 2
Genesis EV60
Genesis EV70
Hyundai Ioniq 5
Toyota BZ4x
Volvo XC40
Volvo C40
Volkswagen ID.4
The most popular vehicle was the Audi Q8 e-tron followed by the Polestar 2. Many attendees expressed concern with charging in Colorado. The majority of participants' perceptions about EVs improved after taking a test drive.
