Event Report

DRIVE Electric Arizona launched its first new chapter since its inception, "Three Rivers Tribes", at this D.E.E.M. event. Fort McDowell was the first stop in a traveling display, moving on to Scottsdale and Chandler for the second and third stops.

Hans Klose, Plug In America board member, is chapter president and a member of the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community.

At this event were 25 EV's, representing 18 different models of electric vehicles, from Chevrolet Bolts to models from Cadillac and Lucid, as well as an all-electric "Zero" Motorcycle.

Tonya Glass, Fleet Manager from the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, brought an SRP-MIC wrapped Mustang Mach-e. We also had special out-of-state guests, including Grace McGinnis from the Department of Energy in Washington, DC, and Jonathan Overly, Program Manager of DRIVE Electric USA, from Knoxville, TN.

A huge THANK YOU to our event sponsor, Salt River Project (SRP), for providing food, refreshments and on-site support during each leg of the event. We are grateful for SRP's unwavering support of the tribal communities around Phoenix.

Event Description

DRIVE Electric Arizona: Three Rivers Tribes Chapter Kickoff, a first-of-its kind multi-pronged electric vehicle car show presented at the three American Indian Communities who make up the Three Rivers Tribes chapter of DRIVE Electric Arizona.

Please join DRIVE Electric Arizona: Three Rivers Tribes President, Hans Klose, as we celebrate the formation of our newest chapter, Three Rivers Tribes. This chapter serves three local American Indian Communities: Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, and the Gila River Indian Community, while paying homage to the three rivers that flow through their communities: the Verde River, the Salt River, and the Gila River, respectively.

The day-long event kicks off at We-Ko-Pa in Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation from 8:00 AM from to 9:30 AM.

Breakfast will be hosted by event sponsor SRP (Salt River Project).

This is an excellent opportunity to see various electric vehicles and to learn about EVs from experienced owners.
