Event Report
Even with a Nationally Televised College Football game as competition, We had 30 EVs and 80 walk in visitors come to our event. Great weather and a chance to be interviewed for an in-depth piece on our local NPR affiliate, WEKU Radio. Our local Members Heritage Credit Union was on hand with 4 employees handing out swag and offering a "Guess the amount of money in the Jar" opportunity to win the cash ! We used the ability to get 110v electricity from an EV6 to power a PA system and to have a running video showing EV commercials and Promotional Segments about EVOLVEKY from local TV stations as well as showing our hour long documentary film, " EVOLVE: Driving a Clean Future in Coal Country" now available for free on Youtube. The event was co-hosted by the Tesla Owners of Kentucky, a group that has branched out into EV advocacy from being just a car club. President Michael Menor conducted a raffle offering a portable power supply suitable for camping and other outdoors needs for electricity.
The highlight of the event was the presence of the team from Tennessee Tech University that was promoting their " Rural Re-imagined " program where residents of Appalachian Counties of Kentucky can sign up to borrow one of four EVs available to them for a two week loaner period. EVs include a Chevy Bolt, a Ford F-150 Lightning pick-up, a VW ID.4 and a Mustang MachE. EVOLVEKY has offered to house the EVs in between loaner periods in Kentucky, negating the need for the vehicles to go back to Tennessee only to return to Kentucky for another 2 week loaner period.
14 pictures of the event have been posted to the EVOLVEKY facebook page
