Event Report

Good event overall w/great newspaper press (print + online) beforehand to help drive traffic to us. Great weather! Total visibility was expected since we were NOT dropping ourselves in a crowd. Great turnout for us in terms of EVs, but will shoot for ~30-40 EVs next year for this event. No politicians or VIPs were invited. EV owners were great as usual showing off their vehicles and discussing facets of EV sales, recharging sites, etc. We provided info to take, but should have been sticking main EV info sheets in everyone's hands. Good--not great--variety of EVs. First time we had Tesla Superchargers in area to highlight, show; that was a great bonus to the event. Had a EV owner dinner afterwards that about 8 attended; was good chance to get to know some owners better. Was the largest EV gathering for Knoxville to date.

*Event budget 98% our coalition staff time; we don't have paid time to do. Volunteer hours don't include our time.

Event Description

Friday September 18th, 4pm - 8pm Turkey Creek Knoxville!

This event will be located just behind the O'Charley's in Turkey Creek in West Knoxville, and will be near but NOT in or obstructing the Tesla Superchargers located there. THIS EVENT WILL BE THE ONLY OPEN CALL FOR ANY PHEV IN THE REGION TO JOIN US AND CELEBRATE NATIONAL DRIVE ELECTRIC WEEK!!  If you have an EV, *PLEASE* sign up and join us at this event!

Check out new locally designed vehicles that will hit the market soon!

If you would like to know more about driving electric then come talk to actual EV owners who can answer any and all your questions from people who actually drive electric cars daily!

More notes on the planning for the event:
  • The timing is 4-8pm, and this is on a Friday. We understand folks have different schedule but know that we want to plan on taking a group photo of everyone that attends and their PHEVs at 6:30pm that night!
  • While there are not any chargers at this site besides the Tesla Superchargers, about 2 blocks away at the Turkey Creek Calhoun's there are two Level 2 chargers.  Additionally, there is a DCFC'er and one Level 2 at the Cracker Barrel that is just at the interstate exit/entrance into the west end of Turkey Creek as well (Campbell Station Rd exit).
  • For those that would like, you can stay afterwards and go to a group dinner afterwards.

Come check out the latestest and greatest innovations in electric driving!

See the new Tesla Super Chargers at Turkey Creek, this makes Knoxville's Turkey Creek an awesome destination charging stop for any vacationing Tesla drivers! Plenty of food and fun!
