Event Report

More than 150 attendees got up close and personal with a variety of electric vehicles at Beltrami Electric's 2023 EV Car Show. Many had the opportunity to sit in the vehicles and visit with owners about the EV's features and their experiences buying, driving, and charging an EV. Bemidji Sports Centre was onsite with QuietKat E-Bikes as well as the new Polaris Ranger Kinetic side by side. 

The event featured an EV owner panel, facilitated by Beltrami Electric staff, Mike Birkeland, VP of beneficial electrification and member experience, and Angela Lyseng, communications specialist. Four EV owners shared their stories/benefits of EVs, overcoming range anxiety, and the best way and place to charge an EV battery.

Members from the local Citizens Climate Lobby group also provided information on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the tax credits and rebates available for new and used electric vehicles.

Otter Tail Power Company and Minnkota Power Cooperative co-sponsored the event, and each brought a Ford F-150 Lightning pickup to display. Beltrami Electric also provided information on off-peak charging rates for EVs and rebates available for installing a charger at home on the co-op's off-peak program.

Vehicles included the Chevy Bolt, Tesla Model S, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y, Tesla Model X, Polaris Ranger Kinetic, Ford F-150 Lightning, QuietKat E-bikes, Volkswagen ID.4 and Chevy Volt.

Join us for our EV Car Show!

EV owners will share their stories/benefits of EVs, overcoming range anxiety, and the best way to charge an EV battery. You'll hear about today's charging technologies, and the programs available for your EV through your local electric provider for home charging off-peak rates and rebates.

Check out a variety of EVs: Chevy Bolt, Ford F-150 Lightning, Ford Mustang Mach -E, Volkswagen ID.4, many Tesla models, a Polaris Ranger Kinetic, and E-Bikes from Bemidji Sports Centre.

  • 4 - 6:30 p.m. - See EVs up close and visit with EV owners and experts. Refreshments and appetizers will be provided.
  • 5:30 p.m. - EV Owner Discussion Panel

Ride & Drive - Take a ride in select available EVs. Sign-up at the registration tent the day of the event!
