Event Report
We had a great NDEW with a wide variety of Electric Vehicles in attendance ranging from an original Tesla Roadster to brand new Bolt EUV, from 4 Rivian R1Ts to 2 Ford F-150 Lightnings, from a retro-fitted passenger Van to an Electric School bus - we really had it all! We were honored to be joined by the Ohio State EcoCAR Team who shared two of their previous award-winning EcoCAR Challenge vehicles. We also have Orion Electric Bikes on hand to demonstrate and let people take for a test ride. Buckeye Nissan, Germain Ford, and Polestar brought vehicles to share with attendees. Our biggest highlight was our location - Yellow Cab of Columbus has been working to electrify its fleet and showcased its Passenger Van and several of its Teslas. They also opened up their Level 2 charging which is powered by their brand-new rooftop solar array for any attendee that needed a charge. We selected the headquarters of Yellow Cab of Columbus because of their involvement with the Decentralized Mobility Hub Project. Columbus City Council chose to award a Resolution to the project in recognition of National Drive Electric Week. Columbus Councilmember Remy presented the Resolution during our event.
Thank you to our local partners - Yellow Cab of Columbus, Buckeye Nissan, Ohio State University EcoCAR Team, Germain Ford, Polestar, MooMoo Car Wash, AAA of Ohio, Shell Recharge, Solar United Neighbors, IMPACT Community Action, Kelci Comic Artist, Green Columbus, Thomas Built Bus by Ohio Cat, Sustainable Columbus, and Orion E-bikes.
Thank you to the National Sponsors - Plug In America, Sierra Club, Electric Vehicle Association, EV Hybrid Noire, Nissan, Wells Fargo, and Electrify America.
You can find more pictures and drone footage on our website at DriveElectricColumbus.com - photos will be stored in the gallery permanently and for a short time on the NDEW page.

Event Description
Join Drive Electric Columbus as we celebrate National Drive Electric Week at the headquarters of Columbus Yellow Cab on October 1st, 2022 from 10 am to 2 pm.
We are pleased we can hold our National Drive Electric Week event at Columbus Yellow Cab headquarters as it features one of the Decentralized Mobility Ecosystem hubs, a project which was formed in partnership with Clean Fuels Ohio. There will be 3 mobility hubs in Central Ohio and each will consist of publicly available EVs and charging infrastructure owned by Columbus Yellow Cab for use by its taxicab drivers, other professionally employed transportation service drivers, and licensed drivers for personal use. The EVs will be accessible through the Columbus Yellow Cab app and you will also find to access keyless entry and digital transactions. To learn more about this project please check out: https://cleanfuelsohio.org/decentralized-mobility/
We will have an Electric Car Show (all participants will receive a Car Show Dash Plaque). We will have a variety of awards and fan favorite categories for EVs in the show.
We will have a Kids Area where they can take an RC Car for a battery-powered lap or read "Sparky's Electrifying Tale". Plus they will get a chance to vote for the kid's choice awards in the Electric Car Show!
The Ohio State University EcoCar Team will be in attendance! The EcoCAR Mobility Challenge is an Advanced Vehicle Technology Competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, General Motors, and Mathworks, and it is managed by Argonne National Laboratory. Students from 12 North American Universities must re-engineer a Chevrolet Blazer over four years to incorporate advanced propulsion systems, electrification, and connected and automated vehicle technologies.
We are expecting several fun partner displays this year! Stop by to speak with Community Advocates from IMPACT Community Action about the Columbus Solar Co-op, check out the adoptable trees from Green Columbus, have a caricature of yourself drawn by Kelci, and more! Polestar will have their EV on site and it will let you schedule test drives that meet you at your choice of location. We are going to have an Electric School Bus at the event, take a peek inside the Thomas Jouley EV School Bus to see how clean the future can be.
Maybe you are more into personal transportation? Orion Electronics will have their newest e-bike at the event and you can even take it for a spin! Worried that you will work up an appetite? Worldwide Catering Food Truck will be on hand with delicious options for you to purchase.
