Event Report

Kingman's Mayor Ken Watkins had been confirmed as a speaker, but other last minute duties prevented him from attending.

There were two EVs on display which drew the most attention: a Ford F150 Lighting Pick-up Truck and a new Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV.

Special thanks to the President of the Historic Route 66 EVA chapter, Jessica May, and her husband, Mike May (https://www.electricroute66.com/),   volunteered at the last minute to staff the welcome/registration table and assist with event setup and take-down when the original volunteer's boss assigned him to work on the day which the boss had previously OK'd the volunteer's participation in the Kingman event.

Event Description

Come join us!

Kingman’s FREE to attend National Drive Electric Week event will feature the most diverse range of electric vehicles on display at any of the Drive Electric events being planned nation-wide. In addition to meeting and talking with real-world drivers who advocate adopting EV technology, attendees will be given FREE admission to the Route 66 EV Museum.

At 10:30 a.m., Kingman's Mayor Watkins is scheduled to present a proclamation declaring the City's support for National Drive Electric Week.

The Museum’s EV display of about 25 EVs is only 1/4 of the Historic EV Foundation’s world’s largest collection of historically significant EVs. In addition to the EVs listed below under Expected Display Vehicles, attendees will be able to view up close and personal these EVs in HEVF's collection:

      • rare 2008 Tesla Roadster (# 480: Tesla sold only ~2,450 of these pioneering EVs worldwide),
      • 1930 Detroit Electric,
      • rare 2002 Toyota RAV4 EV,
      • a record setting EV racer,
      • Willie Nelson’s Rolls styled golf cart
      • and more.

The Foundation is also planning a brief event closing program for 1:45 p.m. in the Museum during which the latest information will be presented about the Foundation's new experiential EV exposition planned to be located in the City of Kingman’s renovated facility on E. Beale Street.

Sign-up below:

  • as a participant to display your electric vehicle,
  • as a volunteer to help with event logistics or
  • as an attendee who is interested in learning more about from drivers who will be sharing their first-hand, uncensored knowledge about their EV experiences.

The Historic Electric Vehicle Foundation, Kingman Office of Tourism, and the Route 66 Electric Vehicle Association Chapter have partnered to organize this opportunity for electric vehicle consumers and potential EV buyers from Kingman, Phoenix, Tucson, Los Vegas and all areas of Arizona to celebrate the benefits of electrified transportation at the Route 66 EV Museum.
