Event Report

Overall it was a very nice informative event.  As in previous years we closed off two square blocks of the town to regular road traffic and parked vehicles diagonally with their noses towards the street.  Pierce Transit brought their large all electric transit bus.  For the first time we had all electric trucks.  Three trucks, 2 Rivian (R1Ts) and 1 Ford Lightning (thank you Titus Will Ford of Lakewood, WA for the loaner).  A lot of public interest in battery operated trucks.  We had Tacoma Power Utilities attending and a solar power sales company.  We had a thirty minute video media interview of 9 year City Captain Dick Muri (now the town mayor) that went very well.  We estimate 1,300 people attended based on spot counts each hour.  This event was well publicized throughout the region.  Every year the event gets better.  We look forward to the 10th annual National Drive Electric Steilacoom festival in 2023 on the 9th of September.
