Event Report
The Bethel
Energy Committee hosted the Bethel Energy Show as part of the Forward Festival last Saturday.
The event is part of the ongoing National Drive Electric Week celebrations occurring
across the nation during the week of Sept 24 - Oct 2, 2022. The day began at
11am with an electric vehicle parade past the Bethel Bandshell and into the
Main Street parking lot. Tri-Valley Transit, Efficiency Vermont, and other
local organizations hosted information tables about public transportation, weatherization,
and solar power.
Electric trucks
were the star of the show this year with four new Rivian R1T models in the car show.
Ted Green Ford topped off the e-truck display with a brand new, all electric Ford
F-150 Lightening. Other electric vehicles in the show were hatchback models of
the Nissan Leaf, Volkswagen ID.4, and Chevy Bolt. Josh from Bethel won the
prize for Best in Show for his 2022 Rivian R1T. He also won first place in
Automobile Trivia.
The 2022 Bethel
Energy Show was organized by local volunteers and sponsored by Babes Bar,
Bethel Sandwich Shop, The Cockadoodle Pizza Café, Green Mt. Power, Hailbrook’s
Broken Stove Bakery, Integrity Energy, WCVR and White River Toyota. National
Drive Electric Week is presented by Plug In America, the Electric Vehicle
Association, the Sierra Club, and EVHybridNoire.
