Event Report

This is the first year we had any dealers outside of Tesla and Nissan show up to this event. We had BMW, with 2 cars to test drive, Mercedes, Volvo, VW and several E-bike shops bring vehicles. Additionally, we had 40+ EV owners show off their vehicles and this year we had more models than before. Additionally, we had live music, which we do every year and rides in a remake of a classic Waverly electric car (see photos).  Here's a link to all the photos taken at the 2022 event: https://photos.app.goo.gl/oBbshbo6txANK2FR8

Event Description

The City of Carmel in partnership with the Greater Indiana Clean Cities, Hoosier Electric Vehicle Association, Carmel Green Initiative, and Knozone is excited to announce that as part of the National Drive Electric Week we will be hosting an EV Ride and Drive on Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Indiana Design Center.  Attendees will be able to test drive various electric-powered vehicles from cars to e-bikes and even e-motorcycles. There will be plenty of EV owners displaying their vehicles and will be available for attendees to ask questions about ownership, costs, and charging EV's. Additionally, there will be other organizations with information related to electric vehicles.

EV Ride and Drive events give the public the chance to test out new electric vehicles from a wide variety of manufacturers. This year, Motor Drive and several local automotive dealers will have cars to test drive. Additionally, we have invited an e-motorcycle dealer and e-bike dealers as well. There will be information about how to charge and where to charge EV’s, how they can improve air quality and reduce CO2 emissions, how you can charge with solar power, how much fun they are to drive, and how owning an EV can save you money.

List of Dealers (will be updated regularly):

Additionally, this event will take place before Late Night on Main (music event, beginning at 9pm) held on Main Street.
If you would like to show your EV, please register to reserve a spot. Help us spread the word by sharing this event or by sharing the Facebook event.
