New EV Charging Station at Town Hall to Celebrate National Electric Drive

The Town of Westport and the Westport Electric Car Club celebrate National
Electric Drive Week (September 15 - 21) with the unveiling of the town’s newest EV charging station located in the parking lot in back of Town Hall.
Following that, there will be an EV caravan to Hartford for the “EV Day at the Capitol” event.
Following that, there will be an EV caravan to Hartford for the “EV Day at the Capitol” event.
The proceedings commence at 7:30AM on September 18 at Town Hall with First Selectman Jim Marpe cutting the ribbon on a new level 2 (240 volt) charging station.
Joining him will be State Representative and Energy Committee member Jonathan Steinberg.
The charging station is available 24/7 to anyone with an EV and there is no charge to plug in.
Following the ribbon cutting, an EV caravan will drive to Hartford where “EV Day at the Capitol” will be held from 10AM – 2PM.

There will be speakers and panels in the legislative office building hearing room 2E from 10AM – 12PM, followed by an opportunity to test drive EVs on the capital grounds from 12 - 2PM.
