Event Report
On October 3rd the Davis Electric Vehicle Association, along with Cool Davis, Sac EV and the City of Davis celebrated their first in-person event under COVID since February of 2020! It was fun time at the EVs @ the Pavilion Show & Tell event on Sunday, October 3. Despite the unavailability of dealers and cars for driving this event was another fun example of effective collaboration. DEVA and SacEV volunteers brought their cars to share. Special information tables covering buying used, available rebates and grants, Driving on Sunshine and choosing the best vehicle were special locations with experts available to answer questions. Our preliminary review shows we had:
About 300 attendees including all volunteers/staff on site;
30 Electric drive vehicles participating in Show & Tell -- including 5 bikes (giving test rides) and 3 motorcycles, and 17 different models of cars;
Show & Tell cars included: Bolt, Volt, Tesla Model 3,Volvo XC40 Recharge, Leaf, Prius PHEV, Kia Niro PHEV. VW ID.4, Tesla Model Y, Jaguar iPace, , Tesla Model S Plaid, Toyota RAV4 EV, SOLO, Tesla Model S, Hyundai Kona, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Roadster
37+ volunteers showed vehicles, answered expert questions and managed registration, prizes, surveys, and set up and take down; and
874 conversations about vehicles were held with attendees.
The EV Showcase, representing our contribution to the National Drive Electric Week activities, was a roaring success because of our amazing volunteers. We are looking forward to more work together in the coming year!
