Event Report

EVs are Faster, Cleaner, and More Fun at Lowell Drives Electric! On Saturday, September 25th, Lowell Drives Electric celebrated electric cars along the Merrimack River at Heritage Farm Ice Cream in Lowell, Massachusetts. Lowell Drives Electric 2021 was one of the largest National Drive Electric Week events in the Northeast and along the East Coast with over 30 plug in and electric vehicle owners at the event, including every model of Tesla every produced and a brand new Polestar 2 vehicle. Two dealerships attended Lowell Drives Electric. Bill Dube Hyundai of Wilmington offered test drives of two vehicles and Thompson Auto Group of Nashua, NH, brought a plug in car to the event. Speakers at the event included, Sokhaury Chau, Lowell City Councilor and plug in owner, Scott Darlington, Lowell Drives Electric City Captain, Geoffrey Koetsch, director of the Merrimack Valley Sierra Club, and Mikaela McCarthy, from the Green Energy Consumers Alliance. Ten owners offered over 100 demonstration rides in their electric vehicles during the event. Visitors were able to get their EV questions answered by asking questions of owners and visiting displays on charging and electric vehicles.  A kids tent offered games and raffles for all attendees. Attendees especially enjoyed the new EVs  at the event this year including the Polestar 2,  Tesla Model S Plaid, Ford Mustang, and Mini Countryman. The organizers would like to extend a special thanks to our host Heritage Farm Ice Cream, who provided all of the supplies for Lowell Drives Electric.  We hope to see even more vehicles and EV fans at Lowell Drives Electric in the spring and next year! As an addition, EVG Wars, a YouTube channel visited Lowell Drives Electric and posted this video about the Polestar 2 car at the event.
