Event Report

We had a great turnout at Central Virginia's eighth annual celebration of National Drive Electric Week. There was lots of things to do, people to see, and more than 20 awesome electric vehicles to learn about. Highlights include the 10th anniversary screening of "Revenge of the Electric Car" (introduced by Paul Scott, co-founder of Plug In America) and two panel discussions on EV mythbusting and building a better model for transportation. We also had one local dealer (Loyalty Volkswagen) bring an ID.4 for display and three people who offered rides in their EVs (Model S, Model 3, ID.4).

Event Description

In the market for a new car? Curious about the Teslas and other electric vehicles

you’ve seen at your neighbor’s house or the parking garage at your job?

Drive Electric RVA will have Central Virginia’s largest display of electric vehicles on Sep. 25 in the parking lot of the Perkinson Center in Chester Village, plus an electric bike and scooter corral and ride-and-drives. In addition, we plan to offer activities throughout the day containing both online and in-person components:

  • Three opportunities to play games and win prizes
  • 10th anniversary screening of “Revenge of the Electric Car” documentary — Introduced by Paul Scott, co-founder of Plug In America
  • Panel discussions with local and national experts — “EV Mythbusting” and “Building a New (and Better) Model for Transportation”
  • Children’s activities, including a LEGO display and play area
  • EV Experience educational exhibits

Click the links above to sign up to display your EV or if you want to stop by. All activities are free, but registration is required for the film screening and panel discussions: https://bit.ly/NDEW21tickets. (Deadline for ALL sign-ups is Wednesday, Sep. 22.)

When you’re done filling your head with all things EV, check out the food options at several nearby restaurants in Chester Village. In addition, we will have a Tesla Model S shuttling people to and from Cheetah Fest, an arts and crafts fair sponsored by A&B Consignment Boutique and The Flowered Cheetah Vintage (more details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/915498572485321/).
