We enjoyed New Zealand Level 1 Covid 19 Alert level restrictions allowing face-to-face gathering of unlimited numbers and no special requirements.   Sheryl Mai, Mayor of Whangarei and Amy McDonald, Northland Regional Councilor-Chair of the Committee on Climate Change, kicked off the event.  We had great support from Northpower, the Northland Regional Council, McKay Electric, Black Dog e-Catamarans,  Blue Cars and E-Farm Bikes that brought cars and had EV experts and equipment on display and gave test rides.   The event was well attended and the public is well informed on the benefits of e-transport especially in New Zealand with ~ 84% renewable electricity (2018).

This event is non-commercial, and no pressure - it's all about information sharing. Our goal is to help you find out more about Electric Vehicles. We will have around 15 different models of EV on display.

There will be no sales people present, just friendly EV enthusiasts and experts, willing to share their experiences. There will also be opportunities to take a test drive in an EV. Some well known Whangarei businesses that have made a start to switching their vehicle fleets to electric, will be attending with their vehicles.

For current EV owners, there will be some services on offer, including:
- Stereo and dashboard language conversions
- Spare proximity key sales and programming
- Free Leaf Spy reporting
