Event Report
This event was entirely run by Central Jersey EAA, the most active EAA chapter on the East coast. The frontwoman of this event was Doriann Kerber, former Councilwoman of Milltown, who arranged for the contract with the East Brunswick Square Mall, our venue for the show. The original date was Tuesday 9/29/2020 but due to the weather, we had to reschedule to Sunday afternoon 10/4/2020.This change gave us not only beautiful sunny weather, we also gained more volunteers and audiences. More specifically, there was Farmers market in the area that finished just as we settled, allowing for market attendees to check out our display. More importantly, there was a classic car show right next to us that started an hour after we settled. We have received lots of audiences from there. The shopping mall visitors were passing/driving by, clearly recognizing that we are the Electric Car people, the future. On the other side of our display was Tesla Supercharger site and we have seen lots of Teslas there and waving at us, giving us support.
The shopping mall has two Volta chargers right at the entrance to the building, providing 2 hours free charging to mall shoppers. We have proudly situated rare Smart ED in one of the spots, that was brought by Dennis Burszan and his wife who travelled over 40 miles from North Jersey to get there.
We have had nice EV model variety, including aforementioned Smart ED, Teslas, Bolt, Volt and also Hyundai Ioniq Electric, Hyundai Kona EV, Honda Clarity PHEV, Toyota Prius Prime and BMW i3. Just as we were about to wrap up, two teenagers entered our lot with electric skateboards. I think they had no idea about significance of their "intrusion".
We want to emphasize that the classic car show is regular weekly event in East Brunswick and our Central Jersey EAA members Jason Kaplan, Jack Phillips and Sal Cameli are regularly displaying in there, producing permanent EV display. This is above and beyond the NDEW.

Event Description
The Central Jersey EAA invites you to NDEW in East Brunswick Square Mall. The event will take place in front of the shopping mall at the Volta chargers from 3 to 7 PM. EV volunteers will display their plugin electric vehicles and talk about benefits of driving electric. Face covering and 6 feet distancing is mandatory. Disinfection wipes will be available.
We welcome all local residents, representatives of municipalities, businesses, non-profits and shopping mall patrons.
Everyone with plugin EV is invited to register. Dealers are welcome to register and show their plugin vehicles.
