Event Report

As part of National Drive Electric Week, the Vermont Sierra Club held a contest for members to capture 2-minute video stories on why they drive an Electric Vehicle.  On September 30, we announced our three winning videos and held a virtual community conversation focused on the benefits of electric vehicles. The conversation featured proud Vermonters discussing their experience and Dave Roberts, Drive Electric Vermont, gave an overview of electric cars in Vermont. The event was designed to share information about the advantages and challenges of electric vehicles, allowed folks to ask questions to current owners, and see which electric vehicles might fit their needs.

The entire event is posted here:

All of the individual videos(10) are posted on the Sierra Club Vermont Facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/watch/VTSierraClub/968437373650479/ and will be posted on the Sierra Club Vermont website in the coming week.

Leading up to the event we targeted 14,000 members and supporters with emails. We developed two promotional videos that were posted on Facebook and Youtube. Those videos were watched a few thousand times. Additionally, we made targeted phone calls and text messages to 1,500 people to further engage our contacts about Drive Electric Week.

Event Description

Drive Electric Week Virtual Community Discussion with the Vermont Sierra Club.

Wednesday, Sept 30 at 7 pm

As part of National Drive Electric Week (September 26 - October 4), the Vermont Sierra Club is holding a contest for members to capture 2-minute video stories on why they drive an Electric Vehicle. During last year’s National Drive Electric Week event, we heard from numerous community members that stories like this inspired them to switch over from gas-powered to electric vehicles. Register today to submit your video and enter our contest to win prizes!

On September 30, we will announce our three winning videos and hold a virtual community conversation at 7 pm focused on the benefits of electric vehicles. The conversation will feature proud Vermonters discussing their experience. The event is designed to share information about the advantages and challenges of electric vehicles, allow folks to ask questions to current owners, and see which electric vehicles might fit their needs.

Interested in finding out how much an electric vehicle costs? Curious to hear how far electric vehicles can take you on a single charge? Then this event is for you. We assure you that you’ll leave green—either with envy or carbon savings!

Register here and we will send you a link to the virtual Conversation.

To share your EV Story by video please email robb.kidd@sierraclub.org.
