Event Report

Our webinar was held over Zoom from 9 AM - 11 AM on September 26. We had a decent turnout for a Saturday morning webinar. We estimate about 100 people joined or subsequently viewed our webinar recording.

We kicked off our event by announcing Governor David Ige's Drive Electric Week proclamation across the state and a welcome to our guests and panel. Our event - 'EV 101' - started out with a series of presentations:

EV Benefits and Incentives, presented by Lauren Reichelt, Director of Clean Transportation at Blue Planet Foundation
Buying an EV, presented by Tam HuntHawaii EV Director
Charging an EV, presented by Sonja Kass, Hawaii EV Director

This was followed by a panel of EV owners from across the state who shared their buying and ownership experiences. The panel included:

Noreen Reimel - Kia Soul EV owner
Gary Miller - Tesla Model 3 owner
Sharon Geiken - Tesla Model S owner
Russell Ruderman - Nissan LEAF owner
Andy Kass - Nissan LEAF owner

We held polls at the start and end of the events to gauge ownership preferences and found an increase in the number of non-owners considering an EV. Unfortunately, the poll screens were not captured in the Zoom recording so actual figures are not documents.

During the webinar, we shared several videos that were produced by the Blue Planet Foundation, including one that was the subject of our Clipper Creek Charger giveaway. Here are links to the videos that we shared:

Many thanks to Kauai EV, Big Island EV Association, Telsa Hawaii Club, Blue Planet Foundation, Drive Electric Hawaii, Telsa Hawaii, Plug In America, Sierra Club, Electric Auto Association, and Electrify America for making this event possible.
