Event Report

We had a most excellent NDEW event on Sunday 09/15 for the first of such events held in Sterling, VA.   Great weather, a great crowd and 11 different EV models along with their owners answering questions and educating the public about EVs. We also had three Model 3 owners who gave test rides to about 50 people - opening a lot of eyes to the performance and capabilities of EVs with their new first-hand experiences.

We received a lot of great feedback from many of the attendees, such as:  "The EVs here are really quite awesome, I didn't know much about them before today!"; "The test ride was the highlight of our week!"; and "I am really glad that I stopped by - I learned a great deal from the folks that I spoke to!"  A big thanks to all of the many volunteers for all of their time and effort - there was a whole lot of educating going on.  One of our volunteers reported nearly losing her voice by the end from talking to so many people.

With the great success of this first attempt - we will certainly be repeating this in years to come.

The EV-Curious public was keeping the EV owners busy all day - at each vehicle and at the information desk.

Event Description

Come out and learn about how Electric Vehicles (EVs) are: cleaner, quicker, quieter, smoother and MORE FUN to drive than conventional gasoline powered vehicles (while having very little maintenance and much lower fueling costs). The Electric Revolution IS here!!!  During the event, you can view multiple EV models, TAKE A TEST RIDE, and have the opportunity to talk to real owners about your questions and  learn about their experiences.  Learn about EV performance, range, charging, etc - and dispel the many myths about EVs.

Please register to attend using the button at the top of this page.

We plan to have 10 or more different EV models on site, including the rare Tesla Roadster (the original Tesla sportscar - under 2,500 sold) an electric motorcycle and several "Plug-in Hybrids". The event currently lists the most models and the most "electric miles" driver experience of any event in Northern Virginia. If you own an EV and would be willing to show your car, please comment below and register online at  https://driveelectricweek.org/event-attend.php?eventid=2127 and we will send you additional information.  We are particularly interested in adding a BMW i3, VW eGolf, Audi e-Tron and others.

The event will be held at the east end of the parking lot of the Cascades Farmers Market.  Stop by and get something healthy to eat - and then learn about how you can drive more healthy as well. Please LIKE & SHARE.

National Drive Electric Week is a nationwide celebration to heighten awareness of today's widespread availability of plug-in vehicles and highlight the benefits of all-electric and plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles.
