Event Report

Our event was intended to be a neighborhood event where people could talk to owners of electric cars and take a test drive. All of the people who came had not driven an electric car before. many of them drove several different models. We had Tesla Model 3 Short Range, Model 3 Long Range (2), 2015 Tesla Model S 70D, 2017 Tesla Model X P100D, BMW i3, Jaguar I-Pace and 2 Nissan Leafs.

There were lots of questions about wintertime driving, charging on the road, charging at home and getting service.

We feel there were some things we learned and that this kind of small neighborhood event is a good way to have people learn a bit about electric cars. If I were to do it again, I would put the cost of the cars in the windows... and maybe the lease monthly cost. Many people were surprised to know that a Tesla Model 3 or a Nissan Leaf Plus or Huyndai can cost around $35,000.

I will try to do another neighborhood event.

Event Description

 

Neighborhood EV Meet-up: September 15th, 4:30 to 6:00 at the beach area of South Cove Road in Burlington. A somewhat local, low key event focusing on how much better and more fun EVs are compared to ICE cars. Owners of cars will show off such benefits as:


-The Ease of charging at home
-Virtually no maintenance
-The Low cost of operation
-The low cost of fuel using BED’s and GMP’s off peak charging program
-The fun of acceleration 
-The Ease of one foot driving
-The Quiet and calm
-The Safety


Currently I have people bringing the following cars:

2015 Tesla Model S 70D (100,000 miles on it)
2018 Tesla Model 3
2019 Kia Nero EV
2019 Nissan LEAF
2019 Jaguar I-Pace
2018 BMW i3


Other full electric cars and motorcycles are welcome.
