Event Report

Overall, the NDEW at Colgate Palmolive Technology Center has been a great success. The event took place during lunch time at two locations: 1) Cafeteria with 3 posters display, trivia game, large "My next car will have a plug" pledge board, display by NJ Clean Energy Program and vendor of on-site automatic electric mowing service.
2) Outside with 12 plugin electric vehicles proudly labeled with EAA feather flag, a table with giveaways from NJ DEP and Plugin America signup sheet with a bar code.

The weather was very welcoming as we had around 500 visitors - the company employees and contractors. All employees were reminded in the morning of the event by a large banner "Drive Electric" by Central Jersey EAA posted at the campus entrance. The vehicles on display (Tesla Model 3, Model X, Chevy Bolt, Chevy Volt, Jaguar i-Pace, Nissan Leaf, Toyota Prius Prime, Porsche Panamera 4E) were provided mostly by fellow employees/retirees and some of them even offered rides. Chevy Volt was brought by Alexander Brown, Vice President of Central Jersey  EAA. One of the Chevy Bolts on display was from Jennifer Sack at nearby Rutgers University and Panamera 4E PHEV was brought by Ray Catena Porsche. The show was visited by Ann Tracy, VP Global Sustainability & EOHS, who expressed her support and interest in EVs.
At the conclusion of the event, 2 lucky winners were drawn to win solar power bank charger and 4 winners received road side assistance kits.

The company is stepping up its sustainability efforts by forming Green Teams in the campus to target energy, waste and water conservation. Moving forward, solar generation will be installed via parking canopy and more EV charging capacity will be provided.
The company was also recognized as an Industry Leader by the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices for Third Consecutive Year.

Event Description

Colgate Palmolive is a global leader in Consumer products, encompassing Oral Care, Personal Care and Home Care.
Sustainability and transparency are among the key pillars of our business. In 2014, we have invited the President of Plug In America to give a seminar on Electric Vehicles. We have been hosting EV showcases annually since 2015 to bring awareness about clean transportation to our employees. We have installed 12 Level 2 charging stations, which are available to our employees as well as to our visitors free of charge. These are just a fraction of our actions to protect the planet.
Since we have gained momentum in electrification among our employees, we want to join the 2019 Drive Electric events around the country to demonstrate our commitment to the planet and our consumers.
During the Drive Electric event at our Global Technology Center, employees with Plug In vehicles will show their vehicles and communicate the benefits to their colleagues. Rides will be offered. Other activities include educational posters, trivia, raffles and announcement of new projects related to renewable energy and electrification.
