Event Report

The event was over two days and tied to a college football game on Friday night and a driver meet-up and ride & drive on Saturday.  We had 13 vehicles on display outside the BB&T Field at Wake Forest University prior to their Friday night game against UNC Chapel Hill.  The Greensboro Police brought over their two new ZERO electric motorcycles.  As the OEMs bring more and more plug-in vehicles to market, our vehicle display set keeps on growing.  Vehicles included were the Jaguar I-PACE, Tesla Model X, Chrysler Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid, Cooper Countryman Plug-In Hybrid, Toyota Prius Prime, Chevy Bolt, Nissan Leaf, Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid, BMW e 530 Plug-In Hybrid, BMW e 330 Plug-In Hybrid and two ZERO DSVP Motorcycles.  Official game attendance was 31, 345.  Vehicles were staged in the fan zone by the band, cheerleaders and dancers at the field house stadium entrance and received great exposure.  Several thousand people passed by with the onsite staff of seven electric vehicle experts interacting with an estimated 500 interested fans.  There were two big screen in stadium advertisements for NDEW announced during the game, as well as a radio interview with Rick Sapienza, Director of the NC Clean Energy Technology Center.  Overall the event was a lot of fun and a great success.

NC Plug-In Vehicle Owners and Friends:

Please join the NC Clean Energy Technology Center to kick off National Drive Electric Week at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem with a tailgate and plug-in electric vehicle car show at the Wake Forest versus UNC Chapel Hill football game.  Kick off is at 6:00p on Friday evening, September 13th.  For game day on Friday evening, due to the game day congestion and traffic, if you do not have tickets for the game or parking arrangements, it is not advised that you come visit the plug-in electric vehicle show.  On Saturday, September 14th from 10:00a-2:00p, bring your plug-in vehicle to a driver meet-up, car show and ride and drive, which is open to the public.  Both events will be held at BB&T Field, Friday in front of Bridger Field House and Saturday in the Gold Parking Lot across from Bridger Field House.
