Event Report

We had a good turnout this year.  We also had representatives from a local solar installer and an electrician for installing home charging boxes.  In addition, we had car dealers with new EV's present - an Audi, Jaguar, and Nissan.

Event Description

Electric vehicles (EVs) are faster, cleaner, safer, and cheaper to own and operate than gas cars, which are powered by petroleum derivatives that, when burned, emit noxious gases into the environment. EVs are simply a better technology. And they are fun to drive!

As EV owner/educators, we turn up at events with our cars to talk 1- 1 with consumers. Since using electricity to power a car is a "new technology" for most, the validation by an existing EV driver is powerful. National Drive Electric Week, Drive Electric Earth Day, auto shows, Farmer's Markets, Electric Driveway parties are just some of the outreach events we organize at Drive Electric Dayton. Since studies show that new technologies are best sold by "word of mouth", every one of our EV owner/educators is making a huge difference in creating a better future. In addition, we will have a electric car charger installer and Solar contractor on hand to answer your questions about charging your EV at your home or business and getting Solar installed as well.

So, come and join us on Sunday, September 22nd beginning at 2pm through 5pm behind Oakwood High School ( Mack Hummon Athletic Field Parking area) on Schantz Avenue to see a bunch of Electric Vehicles (EVs), enjoy a ride in them, and ask questions of their owners. You will be amazed at their stellar performance and comfort. EVs are cheaper to fuel up with electricity and to maintain than their Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) counterparts. We look forward to meeting you!
