Event Description
The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) looks forward to again hosting current EV owners and future EV owners in our fifth year of NDEW OKC!
PLEASE REVIEW details for Saturday’s event.
FOR EV DRIVERS
Please arrive between 9:30 – 10am. EV’s for the event need to park in the middle two rows on the parking lot as well as the north middle section. We want to leave the first two rows of parking for POPS customers. (See Map on NDEW page for reference).
We’ll be handing out T-shirts and entering you to win giveaways.
Please only offer rides (and especially drives) of your vehicle if you have the appropriate insurance.
FOR ALL ATTENDEES
When arriving and during the event, please enter the parking lot in the West POPS driveway nearest the bottle (NOT Westminster Road) the and exit at the East driveway to maintain traffic flow as we’ll have test drives/rides occurring.
POPS has been great to work with and did not administer any charges or fees for the events. Please support them by grabbing a bite to eat and making other purchases during the event.
Please take advantage of Al’s Bicycles and Bike-One e-bike test rides which will be set up on the south side of the parking lot. Sign the waiver to ride and walk the bikes to Westminster Road. The road will not be closed to traffic so please use caution.
We also have a few giveaways so make sure you register before noon.
Please post on social media using #NDEW2019 and #OKEV.
WHY POPS?
Our theme this year is Drive Electric Oklahoma and Route 66 is where the visitors from around the world come to drive Oklahoma.
By this time next year, Oklahoma may have one of the most complete EV fast charging networks in the country. So we’ve been working very closely with Tulsa EV drivers and the Tulsa Clean Cities Coalition to promote both events (same poster/t-shirt design for both events). We’ll have OKC area drivers travelling to Tulsa next week for that NDEW event (Saturday 9/21 from 11am-1pm at the Riverwalk in Jenks) and will be hosting many drivers from Tulsa at the POPS event.
While POPS does not have EV charging (yet), by seeing the number of drivers we want to show the operators of this iconic Route 66 destination that it might be good for business to put in charging. EV tourism is a big opportunity for Oklahoma, especially with all the miles of Route 66 in our state.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
Thank you all for participating in NDEW 2019.
