Event Report

What a fantastic turn out this year. The weather was perfect, owners were busy talking to the public, and our test drive vehicles were constantly going in and out of the event area all day.

We learned a lot from last year at the farmers market, this year we moved to the back lot which has significantly more space to hold the show and is still directly connected to the market foot traffic. It was a good move too, as the traffic was pretty consistent and we quickly ran out of room to park all of the EV's to be showcased (6 ended up on a side lot with little traffic). I would like to see the size of this event double next year, as a result, I will be communicating with the market owners to find a larger area we can host the show while still connected to the market itself.

As always the EV owners were the stars of the show, they engaged with the public to let them know why they loved their EV's as much as they do. I received compliments from participants about several owners who 'really knew there stuff'.

Three test-drive vehicles were available from our very kind local dealerships:
Kona: Garvey Hyundai
i-PACE: Jaguar Albany
e-tron: Audi Albany

These guys were busy, in and out all day with curious drivers wanting to try that EV experience.

Unfortunately, the Tesla Model X was not available for test drives as our local sales representative was not available. The local Tesla service center did attend with two demo Model X units and a lot of accessories to be purchased. They brought two service techs along to install those accessories and to answer any questions people had about servicing a Tesla. We received a lot of good feedback about the presence of the Tesla service area. The most common comment being that people didn't realize that they had a service center, so close by, and that for many cases they didn't even need to go to the service center, as their mobile service van could take care of many of their service needs.

We had a fantastic event, thank you everyone for coming out!

Event Description

Group Photo

Take part in our 7th annual National Drive Electric Week event!

This is an opportunity for EV enthusiasts and auto dealers to showcase pure electric vehicles to the public in a relaxed open venue free of manufacturer, technical, or political bias. The goal is to get people excited about modern EVs while giving them the opportunity to get up close and personal with them, as well as making EV test drives available from local dealers. It’s also a chance to help inform the public about electric vehicles. Like any new technology, there are still some prevalent misconceptions and lots of questions that the public has. With a range of EVs on the road, there is an electric car for every lifestyle.

Local dealers will be bringing new EVs for test drives. We welcome participation from local car dealerships, EV owners, renewable energy companies, utility companies, and anyone else that is part of the electric vehicle eco-system.

Fun for the whole family
