Event Report
To a great group of people!
"I can't begin to thank you for coming, and hanging out with us, so early on a Saturday morning. It was a pleasure meeting you at National Drive Electric Week - Palm Desert. This event could not have been a success without your participation, and the help of our volunteers, who donated their time. Some of you drove over 100 miles to attend this event. Thank you!"
We thank The College of the Desert (COD), and their Alumni Associations Street Fair, for accommodating us at their facility. The college solar covered parking structure kept the sun at bay!
Our participants made the day fun! People came by and were pleased with the opportunity to get closer to these Electric Vehicles, hear the updates in technology, and converse with electric vehicle owners on their experiences driving an electric vehicle. People were thrilled to be able to test drive the vehicles.
The feedback was amazing. Comments like "I didn't realize how affordable some of these vehicles are now-a-days", and " I did not know some of these car manufacturers had electric vehicles in their fleet" and many more comments.
We had beautiful background music played by Tristan featuring the Bolivian Charanguitar, at the perfect volume. Tristan plays live music every week-end at the fair. Thank you Tristan, the music was lovely! We had available refreshment throughout the event for everyone!
Vehicles on demo and /or ride-and-drive: Audi e-tron, 2 Nissan Leaf, Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid, BMW i3, e-golf VW, 2 Jaguar i-PACE, Fiat 500E, 2 Tesla Model 3, 2 Tesla model S, Hyundai Ioniq Electric, and a Toyota Prius Prime.
Pedego Electric Bikes demonstrated various bikes, and had them available to the public to ride. A demo display of a portable solar charging station, charging multiple vehicles simultaneously was a big interest! South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), was there to answer questions, share available incentives and their resources. Clean Cities Coachella Valley Region, shared information and resources available through the National Clean Cities Program and local coalitions throughout the United States, including their local coalition in the Coachella Valley Region. Take-aways were available to people who stopped by!
Thank you to the National Drive Electric Week sponsors and our local sponsor Electrify America!
We look forward to seeing you again, at the next event!

Drive Electic Coachella Valley
This Event is FREE and open to the public and held in conjunction with the Street Fair at College of the Desert.

National Drive Electric Week, is a nationwide celebration to raise awareness of today's widespread availability of plug-in vehicles. Electric vehicles (EVs) are not something out of the Jetsons. They are here today, fun to drive and affordable. They also save money because they are less expensive and more convenient to fuel than gasoline vehicles. If you think that EVs are timid cars, you're wrong. EV motors have so much power that they require software to limit the maximum mph. A typical EV can go from 0 to 60 in under 6 seconds. Besides, they are better for the environment, promote local jobs, and reduce dependence on foreign oil.
