Event Report
We had 12 people rsvp to show their cars, but a few more came on the spur of the moment. One family from East Knoxville saw the event while the father and daughter were practicing basketball at an adjacent park and came by. They gave roughly 10 rides in their Tesla S. Our event pushed back against the prevailing narrative that electric cars are only for wealthier people in mostly white neighborhoods. Here in a low income community of color we had EV owners from all over eastern Tennessee and right down the block come together and check out cars, find out about rebates from the local utility and share information about how to green up their family's transportation.
