Event Report

Our first year for this event and a new nonprofit we didn't know what to expect - we were pleasantly surprised to have the city mayor declare NDEW at the council meeting on Sept. 6th. We had bikes as well as cars at the event which everyone loved and rode again and again. And, we had a climate scientist speak who was on a National Tour - Shahir Masri. We had other speakers who talked about EV ownership, infrastructure, and one had lots of know-how being an alternative transportation state leader in MA. Our cars ranged from the Bolt to Volvos and Cadillac. I did have trouble getting people to sign up as you see our event was larger than what is shown here. Help with that next year would be great. The highlights of the day were the test drives one owner gave in her Telsa S, the electric bikes, and the gelato vendor who came by to keep everyone cool in the hot sun!

Event Description

Come out and view electric plug-in vehicles - go for a spin in a plug-in electric car or take a quick ride on an electric bike! 

Come inside and listen to presentations about electric cars and infrastructure and maybe even get to see or win a raffle to drive the electric Zamboni! Thank you Keene Ice for making this raffle prize possible!

Shahir Masri - on a national tour - Road to Climate Action will make a visit from 12:30-1:30pm to speak and answer questions. Come out and listen to Shahir - check out his blog at http://www.roadforclimateaction.com/

Stephen Russell, Alternative Transportation Coordinator MA will speak about the basics of EVs and the required infrastructure.

Steve Walker, an entrepreneur and Plug-in Car owner will speak about the experience of driving a plug-in vehicle in the Monadnock Region.
