Event Report

Program at noon featured SEVA President Stephen Johnsen, Senior Policy Adviser on Transportation Charles Knutson from Gov. Jay Inslee's office, King County Council Chair Larry Phillips, Issaquah Mayor Fred Butler, and PIA Chief Science Officer Tom Saxton. Highlights of the show were John Wayland's White Zombie from Portland, the Issaquah High School Robotics Team, Boeing's two Green Van vehicles used inside the plant, and Dave Cloud's first conversion vehicle from 20 years ago. Vehicles on display represented more than 1 million oil-free miles driven!

Learn About the Many Benefits of Driving Electric
at the XXX Root Beer Drive-In in Issaquah
Sunday, September 21, 2014 • 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Driving Electric is more fun, more convenient, and less expensive than driving a gas car. Find out more at the largest ever gathering of electric vehicles in the Pacific Northwest at Issaquah's world-famous XXX Root Beer Drive-In.

It's Official! Governor Jay Inslee has declared that September 15-21 is Drive Electric Week for the State of Washington and Mayor Fred Butler has declared September 15-21 to be Drive Electric Week for the City of Issaquah.

XXX EV Show May 2014

Learn about what it's like to drive a plug-in electric vehicle from real owners. We'll have owners on hand ready to answer your questions about the real-world experience driving all the popular plug-in vehicles from Tesla Motors, Nissan, Chevy, Ford and the brand new BMW i3, plus electric motorcycles from Zero and Brammo. We'll also have some rare production electric vehicles that were only sold in California as well as custom cars built by the 30-year-old community of Seattle-area electric conversion enthusiasts.

Directions

From I-90, take the Front Street exit #17. Drive south on Front Street to first light and turn left onto Gilman Boulevard. If you are bringing a plug-in electric vehicle to exhibit, follow signs and turn left into parking lot past the XXX Root Beer restaurant. Volunteers will direct you where to set up. If you are attending without exhibiting, you will be able to park at the XXX Root Beer, on the street or in nearby parking lots.

Power

A couple of 110V outlets will be available on site for charging EVs. The SEVA range trailer also will be available, and solar power may be an option. We will have a map of all the nearby 240V J1772 charging stations as well.

Please check in at the SEVA information booth under the blue canopy when you arrive.
