Event Report

Our second annual "Drive and Shine" electric vehicle and clean energy expo featured 20 BEVs and PHEVs including a variety of makes and models such as Tesla S, Tesla X, Nissan Leaf, VW e-Golf, Toyota Prius Prime, Toyota RAV4 EV, BMW i3 REx, BMW 530e, Smart fortwo, Chevy Volt, and Chevy Bolt. In addition, several solar PV and geothermal installers participated as well as clean technology companies such as Spark Charge, which is developing a portable EV charging solution, and Small Grid, maker of the The Life Wall which provides solar energy, battery storage, high efficiency heating, cooling, domestic hot water, and fresh air exchange in one package. Several candidates for Syracuse mayor spoke as well as local sustainability experts. The event was sponsored by the Central New York Regional Planning & Development Board, Alliance for a Green Economy, GreeningUSA, Climate Change Awareness and Action, New Yorkers for Clean Power, National Grid and SUNY-ESF.

Event Description

 

We are pleased to announce that we are hosting the 2nd year of Drive and Shine, an Electric Vehicle and Solar Expo, as a part of the fifth year of the National Drive Electric Week in Central New York! This event is free and open to the public and will be held on September 10th from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM, at the city parking lot located at the corner of W. Washington and S. Clinton Streets.

Dozens of electric vehicle owners and enthusiasts will display their vehicles, answer your questions, and offer test rides to highlight the fun, clean-air benefits, and cost-savings of electric cars.

Charging stations will be available at the event.

Solar installers and other companies and organizations that are interested in participating in the event should email Katelyn Kriesel at kkriesel@cnyrpdb.org for more information.
