Juneau	Juneau, AK	The 5th Annual Juneau Alaska EV Round UP was another great National Drive Electric Week. In addition to great EV displays, test rides, and information, we received a City and Borough of Juneau EV proclamation commemorating National Drive Electric Week as well as Juneau's electric transportation transformation. Many local elected officials participated in this year's event and we also displayed one of Alaska's first electric boat along with many electric bicycles. Juneau recently received a $1.5M grant from the US Dept. of Transportation to purchase electric buses and this information was also shared at the event. Our local sponsors shared hamburgers, hot dogs, refreshments and the weather cooperated with an awesome day. Juneau appears to be the most Northern National Drive Electric Event in North America for 2018.
Birmingham	Birmingham, AL	BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – About 350 interested consumers came to Brookwood Village on Saturday to shop – in a manner of speaking. Instead of browsing through the mall, though, these “shoppers” were in the parking lot examining dozens of electric vehicles on hand to celebrate National Drive Electric Week. The visitors learned plenty from the electric vehicle (EV) owners on hand for the showcase. In addition to the replica 1896 Riker electric motor car, there were 25 new and used EVs from Nissan, Chevrolet, Tesla, Ford, BMW, Fiat, Toyota, Honda and Cadillac on display at the event. Also on display was a Via Motors, Inc., pickup and a pair of Curtiss Motorcycle Company electric motorbikes. Curtiss is a Birmingham-based company that manufactures and sells high-end, high-performance electric motorcycles. “It was wonderful to have such great participation from electric vehicle owners and manufacturers,” said Mark Bentley, executive director of the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition. “Electric vehicles make up the fastest-growing segment in the automobile industry in the United States and the EV owners who are here are among the best ‘salesmen’ there are, just by telling their stories of being on the road – and how much money they save by using electricity instead of gasoline. “Electric vehicles are being built in 20 states, including Alabama, and the EV industry creates thousands of well-paying jobs in our state and country and reduces our dependence on foreign oil,” he said. Cedric Daniels, Electric Transportation Manager at Alabama Power; Louis W. Baxley, Special Projects Coordinator for U.S. Senator Doug Jones; ZEOG’s David Radzieta; Julie Price, Director of Sustainability at UAB; and Cedric Roberts, the City of Birmingham’s Equipment Management Director, were also on hand at the four-hour event to lend support to the electric vehicle industry.
Huntsville	Huntsville, AL	We had a great event at NDEW Huntsville. With over 25 cars representing at least 11 different models, it was a great way to show the public some of the many options of going electric. Attendance were quite good of at least 100 both visitors and EV owners. The biggest highlight of the event was having a local new anchor on site covering the event and developing a story about Tesla no being able to sale vehicles in Alabama with Alabama being one of 6-7 states still that way. We are definitely looking forward to the next one.
Prescott	Prescott, AZ	We held our event on the courthouse square in Prescott, where many people come to walk during the day and explore the downtown. This afforded us much more visibility than last year's location. More EV drivers came from far away, such as Cottonwood, the Verde Valley and Phoenix - more than 2 hours away for this event! There is a lot of enthusiasm for electric drive in Prescott...those prices just need to come down on the cars! No other particular highlights. The Embry-Riddle students always attract a lot of attention with their attempt to build the car that will break the land speed record.
Scottsdale	Scottsdale, AZ	This was the biggest NDEW event ever for the Phoenix EAA. Over 80 cars participated even with the heat. It got over 100 degrees by noon. Many left early. Participants came and went throughout the show. This years venue took part at the Scottsdale United Methodist Church. Because of the spacious lot, and no space restrictions, we where able to invite numerous vendors and ev/environment friendly organizations. These included: Plug In America, Sierra Club, Sun Valley Solar , East Valley Technical Institute and Pinnacle Nissan. We had over 30 Teslas and representations of almost every EV manufacturer including three Fisker Karmas and one conversion. Next year promises to be bigger and better, weather permitting.
Tucson	Tucson, AZ	Ron Koehler gave rides to anyone interested during the afternoon hours. Event coincided with the Library display.
Tucson	Tucson, AZ	We had an amazing night! Great food, light up cocktails and mock-tails, and live music from local celebrity Eb Eberlein. TEVA Tucson Members were given badges and goodie bags with a free LED ice cube and one free ticket for the drawing. Guests received their own "Guest Member" Badge with each goodie bag. The bags came with lots of free giveaways including a free 1 hour rental for an electric bike from Pedego. The drawing prizes included a Tesla T-shirt, Tesla coasters and a heavenly bamboo plant among other gifts. We wrapped up the night with a final Tesla X-mas show! Another NDEW for the books.
Tucson	Tucson, AZ	We set up our table and display in front of the Joel D. Valdez Library in the early morning hours and spent the day presenting the line up of TEVA Tucson member cars to the public. The movie "Evolve: Driving A Clean Future In Coal Country" was shown in the lower level meeting room of the library on a continuous loop. We had many interesting discussions with people about EV's and discussed general ideas about improving the nations energy policies.
Tucson	Tucson, AZ	Our 'Spin and Win' giveaway was held at the Tucson Mall as we ask passersby to join in a quiz on electric vehicles. After they answer we spun the wheel for a selection of prizes such as tote bags, water bottles, pens and electric fans. Presented by President Dave Gebert, Vice President Paul Pederson and Senator Andrea Dalessandro. A light crowd that day, but everyone had fun!
Tucson	Tucson, AZ	The Tucson Mall is a high traffic display that is exposed to a HUGE number of visitors. Situated in the cool of the indoor shopping arena, there is ample time for patrons to view the unique vehicles. The Zero Motorcycle, Tesla and the Pedego E-bike are all big draws. The video display, located nearby with a bench for shoppers to sit and rest, runs an hour long sequence of videos that include a wide variety of EV information such as commercials, interviews, YouTube videos, car reviews and calls to join TEVA Tucson. The information table is set up with live plants and outlet boxes to illustrate how easy it is to plug in your next car!
Tucson	Tucson, AZ	A very lively event. Jerry Asher introduced himself and told about his journeys around Arizona to promote Driving Electric. He showed off his Tesla toeing the original 2011 Nissan Leaf. We had a cool photo backdrop made out of NDEW signs and had a few Tesla model X Shows. Everyone in the restaurant was interested. we were a hit!
Berkeley	Berkeley, CA	Our 2nd Annual Ride Electric was bigger and better with the addition of e-bikes and family friendly activities. The event, held in conjunction with the weekly farmers’ market, had a large footprint and various components. In addition to EV owners and car dealerships, we had a reclaimed arts activity and bounce house (powered by 100% clean electricity) for kids, as well as various info tables and the very popular e-bike test rides. - 267 people registered in advance, of which 52 were EV owners representing 17 different plug-in vehicles. This is an increase of 100+ registrants from 2017. - Estimated 300-500 people attended in total, and 100+ kids jumped in the bounce house - 17 different volunteers/staff worked shifts during the event day (setting up, monitoring road closures, greeting attendees, etc.). - Approx. 12 additional volunteers staffed 9 info tables (City of Berkeley Offices of Sustainability & Transportation, City of El Cerrito’s Environmental Quality Committee, Citizens’ Climate Lobby, Ecology Center, Golden Gate Electric Vehicle Association, League of Women Voters Berkeley, Albany, Emeryville, NorCal Solar, and PlugIn America). - City of Berkeley info table logged 79 conversations with event attendees, primarily about EV financing and charging options. - 3 entities hosted the event, contributing staff time, funds and promotional resources (cities of Berkeley & El Cerrito, and the non-profit Ecology Center) - An additional 2 cities (Albany & Oakland) and 6 non-profits (350 Bay Area, Albany Climate Action Coalition, Clean Vehicle Rebate Project, East Bay Clean Cities Coalition, Sierra Club SF Bay Chapter, and SunWork) supported/promoted the event. - 4 local dealerships participated (Toyota of Berkeley, Weatherford BMW of Berkeley, Autocom Nissan of Oakland, and smart/ Mercedes-Benz of San Francisco) and Maven (car sharing) brought a Chevy Bolt. - 2 bicycle companies (Trek & Ford GoBike) offered e-bike test-rides.

Chatsworth	Chatsworth, CA	Our event was great success. We had about 20 vehicles for our car show as well as about 6 test vehicles. The participation from some local sponsors was out standing. We had test drives provided by Tesla Woodland Hill, Mission Hills Nissan, And Rydell Chevrolet. Our Exhibitors and sponsors included AAA, Chatsworth tires, Anytime fitness, Ralph's, Adaptive Services and Design, The Hive Chatsworth, and many others. We had a snack and ice cream vendor providing treats, as well as participation from local restaurants serving food. Overall, there was an overwhelming positive response to the event and the way it was organized. We had a wonderful team of about 20 volunteers that graciously gave their time to help . We had a great time and look forward to growing the event next year. This was a great way to get the word out about EV's, and the potential to make this a HUGE event in chatsworth next year is very promising. Cupertino	Cupertino, CA	This year's Cupertino NDEW event focused on display vehicles (EVs) and a ride-and-drive. We did not have any speakers this year, but because we partnered with the Silicon Valley Fall Festival, we boosted attendance slightly vs. 2017.
Davis	Davis, CA	On Saturday, September 15th, SacEV, the Davis Electric Vehicle Association, the City of Davis and Cool Davis hosted a National Drive Electric Event at the Davis Farmers Market with impressive results. Several dealerships (Hanlees - Toyota, Nissan & Chevy; Niello -- BMW & Mini Cooper; Shottenkirk-Honda; Tesla) brought a total of 10 EVs for test drives. Dealership staff gave more than 256 test drives/rides incentivized with Farmers Market Bucks and Gift Cards funded by PG&E. 58 Drivers answered pre and post surveys. In additional to the X and 3 to drive, Tesla brought a display of the Tesla Power wall. Clipper Creek, the CA Clean Vehicle Rebate Program and the UC Davis Plug-in Electric Vehicle Center also shared informational displays and expertise with participants. SacEV, DEVA and Cool Davis members brought 27 personal EVs to the EVent. There were over 1078 separate conversations with community members, as these EV owners shared their EV experiences. Neighbors at Parkview Place, welcomed the E-Bikes for test drives on their driveway! Featured in this special section were 5 different electric assist bikes to test from local partner Kens Bike & Ski. Jump Bike, the new bike share program in Davis, brought 5 e-bikes for test driving too. Community partners Unitrans, Yolo Solano Air Quality District, City of Davis Bike and Pedestrian Programs and Safe Routes to Schools hosted a Transportation Fair for back to school families featuring bus information, bicycle safety checks and information for Safe Routes to school. A 2012 Nissan LEAF was on site as a canvas for kids to express themselves (with dry erase pens), and also a mini-Tesla for kids. Workshops were repeated twice and included: “EV 101,” “EV/PV Driving on Sunshine!” and “Buying a Used EV”. Volunteers gave nearly 850 hours of time to plan/execute the event. Support from the City of Davis and access to this great venue near the Farmers Market was essential to success!
Grass Valley	Grass Valley, CA	This event was part of Nevada County's largest classic car and hot rod show, which typically draws 600 cars to the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, California, an hour north of Sacramento in the Sierra foothills. Approximately 5000 people attended, and the Nevada County Climate Change Coalition (NCCCC) presented an indoor display of a total of 14 plug-in vehicles (+10 electric bikes in an adjacent display) along with a display of climate-related materials. We had enthusiastic crowds--and some climate deniers--who saw the display, talked to volunteers, engaged dealer representatives and participated in a ride-and-drive all weekend. Hundreds of people enthusiastically wanted more information on plug-in vehicles. A representative from the California Center for Sustainable Energy presented on Sunday. NCCCC has done this event for three years now, in an attempt to reach those who wouldn't normally be exposed to EVs, and we see it as a successful outreach to those who don't often experience such viewpoints.
Lindsay	Lindsay, CA	The event went really well. While we didn't have a lot of test drives, we did get a lot of engagement from the public. People were stopping by to ask the EV owners about their cars, taking pictures, and engaging with our volunteers and staff. One of the things that we learned was that our low test drive numbers were largely due to the fact that people attended the farmers market with their families and most of the time, the EVs didn't have enough room to accommodate the whole family. With that being the only caveat, we are very happy with the turnout of the event. As I stated earlier, we had a lot of engagement from the public and we were able to spread awareness of plug-in vehicles.
Lompoc	Lompoc, CA	Lompoc Mayor Bob Lingle dropped by and read the NDEW EV Proclamation in front of the crowd gathered near the front entrance. We had a decent amount of EV owners and a few Dealerships at the Event as well. One of the best tools that we utilized were copies of the current EV Buyer's Guide. It was very helpful information and I believe it will help new buyers who are interested in EVs to move forward and make the switch to Electric Vehicles.
Long Beach	Long Beach, CA	We had our event on 9/8/18 from 9 am to 2 pm at George’s 50’s Diner, 4390 Atlantic Ave, Long Beach, CA 90807. The vehicles available for rides and drives were: • 3 Chevrolet Volt • 1 Chevrolet Bolt • 1 Honda Fit • 1 Volkswagen eGolf • 4 Teslas (2 model 3s, 1 model S, and 1 Roadster) • 1 Nissan Leaf We had 3 exhibitors: 1. Plug In America 2. EnergyCenter.Org aka Clean Vehicle Rebate Project 3. Dr Pooch sold children’s books on health and water conservation We were prepared with the necessary tools to register people, have them sign the waiver, complete surveys and get wristbands. The event was festive with balloons and most people showed up on time to setup. We learned dealers are not really eager to participate in these events even though it seems like free marketing for them. We learned more about the industry from some very passionate EV owners that explained why the dealers are not as excited about these events and EVs as much as we had assumed they would be. Marketing could have been more geared towards making this a gathering of EV enthusiasts. Now knowing Tesla EV owners are very passionate and involved, Tesla would have been used in the marketing of the event. Next year, we will use a committee that was formed of volunteers who met at this year’s event so it will have more community involvement. We now have a direct contact with the local Nissan EVOM so he will be engaged to help a lot sooner than this year.
Los Alamitos	Los Alamitos, CA	it was a very good, and low key event. Most of the participants stayed for 3 hours or more. We provided donuts and water, and raffled off some prizes. The City Manager from the City of Los Alamitos attended, and City of Seal Beach Councilwoman Schelly Sustarsic came by to learn more about EVs. City of Los Alamitos Mayor Pro Tem Warren Kusumoto hosted the event.
Los Angeles	Los Angeles, CA	Charge Up LA! included test-drives, vehicle displays and information on electric car incentives, charging station rebates, solar power, home energy efficiency and more. We also had lawn games for kids, a face-painter and DJ, and food trucks for a fun day for the whole family. Mammoth Lakes	Mammoth Lakes, CA	Mayor Cleland Hoff spoke on stage after we read the Town of Mammoth Lake's Proclamation of Sept 9th as EV Day Mammoth Lakes. The Mayor spoke very positively about the Town's plan to support EV promotion. She stayed about 3 hours, enjoying a test ride in a Tesla Roadster as well as rides in a couple of our Evs. Also attending was councilman and Chair of Mono County's LocalTransportation Commission, John Wentworth, Councilman Kurt and Cal Trans Brent ... Guests enjoyed snacks and read materials on incentives and charging in our Education Tent--a 20 X 30 tent with 10 tables with 4 chairs around each. On our main stage in the tent, we held a free raffle, giving away hundreds of dollars of gift certs from local restaurants and retail shops as well as free ticket to next year's Gran Fondo cycling race. Each winner was called up to the microphone to introduce themselves, if they owned an EV, and what triggered their interest in Electric Vehicles. A highly unique aspect of our event was its location in this remote Mountain community, literally hundreds of miles from the nearest EV CAR dealer. Due to the generosity of local residents offered lodging to out of town EV owners, we were able to showcase 9 EVs, with rides in 5 EVs. Our EV owner/educators drove 400 miles from San Diego and Sacramento! Their cars were steadily busy--making 4 - 5 trips per hour on a 6 minute, 4 mile route. The guests were highly appreciative of our 20 dedicated, knowledgeable volunteers. Later, guests were overheard bubbling over about their "Experience Electric" event in a local restaurant. While the total number of guests was not a huge number, the quality of conversations was high. The guests who came were highly focused on getting their rides in an EV--often riding in 2 or 3. We also collected signatures on a petition to demand non-Tesla charging in Mammoth Lakes. We received over 300 signatures in under a week. We are still collecting . . .on line at www.change.org.
Marin County	Marin County, CA	The counts of cars only reflects pure electric vehicles. We do not offer test drives in plug in hybrids. We spend a huge amount of our time organizing and promoting our event. We do not want to promote any cars that have internal combustion engines that will be on the road for the next 15 years. So we spend our efforts on promoting pure electric vehicles only. We do not discourage people from bringing plug in hybrids, but we do not ask dealers to bring plug in hybrids. We promote the event with radio ads (one of the biggest expenses) and via social media. The public response was very good with most people asking how to get the rebates and tax credits and how to take advantage of EV electricity rates. The general impression was that most people had decided that they would be getting an electric in the very near future. They were at the event to confirm their decision. One of the County of Marin members of the Board of Supervisors displayed her electric car at the event.
Monterey Park	Monterey Park, CA	This was a first time event presented by the chamber of commerce with the cooperation of the city. Sponsors included SCE, Alhambra Nissan, El Camino Chevrolet as well as Douglas Auto Body, Wells Fargo and several individuals. A number of attendees remarked that they were pleased to see the presence of not one, but two Teslas Roadsters. Both dealers were kept busy with test ride requests. The Model 3 was popular as the owner was kept busy with questions from the attendees. The Mayor Pro-Tem showed at the event.
Napa	Napa, CA	No politicians participated, but lots of community members interested in EVs did. Many were there to learn and many others were doing their due diligence before going out to buy an EV. Local dealers provided the Chevy Bolt, Chevy Volt, and Honda Clarity for test drives. One attendee accepted delivery of his new Chevy Volt at the event. The electric bikes from Pedego were a hit.
Oxnard	Oxnard, CA	For the third consecutive year the National Drive Electric Week event in Oxnard was held at the Channel Islands Harbor on a beautiful Sunday morning. The EV Showcase and Ride and Drive were held adjacent to a renowned Farmers Market resulting in lots of cross traffic. Over 1600 interested people came to the EV Event and learned about electric vehicle use and adoption from 61 EV private owners and 6 EV-knowledgeable dealers who brought 28 vehicles. Besides viewing the countless static displays, 147 interested members of the public learned first-hand about EV use by taking test rides or drives. The EVs and PHEVs available for the test drive included the Tesla Model 3, the new Nissan Leaf, both a Chevrolet Bolt and Volt and the Chrysler Pacifica PHEV minivan. Also available for test drives were electric bicycles and NEVs. In addition, there was a 22’ Duffy Electric Boat on display. A regional pizza restaurant chain, Pizza Man Dan's, displayed its Spira4U electric delivery vehicles which it uses to deliver pizza to its customers. Later owner Dan delivered pizzas for our volunteers working our event in the Spira4U. Palo Alto	Palo Alto, CA	On Sunday, September 16, 2018, Acterra gave over 520 EV test drives at its third annual National Drive Electric Week event: Ride, Drive, and Be Green! Over 360 potential adopters, EV owners, and volunteers converged to share and receive information about electric vehicles, charging, leasing/buying, and living the “EV lifestyle.” EV Ambassadors and local dealers provided 70 vehicles, representing 17 makes and models, for viewing and test driving. Post-survey results indicate that attendees increased their willingness to consider an electric vehicle for their next car purchase as a result of participating in the event. After providing this positive, hands-on, up close experience for potential adopters, we expect to see many new EVs on Bay Area roads in the coming months! After the test drives, Acterra hosted a launch party for it's newly renamed Karl Knapp GoEV Program, honoring longtime EV advocate, educator, and Earth champion, Karl Knapp. Attendees learned about the exciting activities in store for the coming year while photographing and videotaping congratulatory messages to Karl, who has ALS and was not able to attend. Pleasanton	Pleasanton, CA	The event was small but fun given that I signed up late to organize the event . This is a very well attended new shopping area with a lot of people stopping by to ask questions.
Richmond	Richmond, CA	The Richmond National Drive Event was held on Saturday September 8th and was a well attended free family event with private vehicle owners eager to share their EV ownership experience, auto manufacturers, Richmond Police Activities League provided a jump house for the kids, 511.org gave away free espresso and gelato for downloading a commuter app. Several local non-profit groups, solar energy companies, and MCE Clean Energy shared financing and energy rebate programs. Also in attendance were Richmond City Council Member Ben Choi and Contra Costa County District Supervisor John Gioia-both gentlemen drive EVs.
Riverside	Riverside, CA	GRID Alternatives Inland Empire (GRID IE) recently hosted its annual summer soiree. The 3rd Annual Summer Celebration was well attended with over 100 guests who came together to enjoy a fun evening of food, fun, music and networking with staff, homeowners, partners and friends. Each year, this annual event highlights community partners and individuals who have helped with championing the cause of sustainability within Inland Empire communities. The 2018 GRID IE Sunshine Award recipients included: 47th District Assembly Member Eloise Reyes (Equity and Justice); Brian Adkins/Bishop Paiute Tribe (Environment); Center for Employment Training-Colton (Workforce Development); Academy for Grassroots Organization (Collaboration); San Manuel Mission Band of Mission Indians (Corporate Partner of the Year); and City of Moreno Valley (Public Partner of the Year). GRID IE also introduced new Advisory Board Members Blaine Boyer, Michelle Pierce and George Puddephatt who assisted in presenting Sunshine Awards to the honorees. This year, Summer Celebration was an official registered participant of the National Drive Electric Week, which drew 12 registered vehicles ranging from three Tesla’s, a Nissan Leaf, an electric motorcycle and more. Raceway Ford also participated for the first time, and they brought a black Ford Fusion for guests to test drive. The Center for Sustainable Energy, based in San Diego, shared information about the clean vehicle rebate program and had an electric vehicle on display. Guests enjoyed listening to the jazzy smooth sounds of HPE All Stars sponsored by Hot Purple Energy, a hosted taco bar, beverages sponsored by Euryale Brewery and a wide range of cool raffle prizes. Thanks to all who came out for this celebration. We look forward to Summer Celebration in 2019.
Riverside	Riverside, CA	Tesla of Palm Desert had a Model X on display and gave test drives in the Model 3. The Tesla Club of the Inland Empire had an official Meetup at the event. It was the most popular EV brand at the event.
San Diego	San Diego, CA	EV Day San Diego took place at beautiful Liberty Station where the weather couldn't have been more perfect! We had over 1,800 registered attendees on the NDEW website and more than 800 people who signed up for test drives. On the day of the event, we exceeded that with record breaking numbers. Among our splendid list of speakers, our Mayor of San Diego, Kevin Faulconer, came out and spoke about the importance of clean transportation in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. With fun and upbeat music played by the DJ, it was a great day of EV test drives, e-bike rides, kids jumpees, EV and large vehicle displays, good eats, and the excitement of several winners who brought home prizes given by SDG&E and Plug-In America!
San Francisco	San Francisco, CA	Volta invited clients, friends, and "fans" from the general public to join us in celebrating National Drive Electric Week at Volta's first All Electric Drive-In Movie Night. Our team came together to convert our entire headquarters back lot into a true drive-in movie for the night. The event featured a Bond movie projected on a 40-foot wide screen, "Bond" themed cocktails, and the "Licensed to Grill" food truck. Volta staff picked up clients in electric vehicles and provided those vehicles as their seats for the evening, giving many of them their first up close and personal experience with EVs in a fun, glamorous setting. They were thrilled with their sleek, silent electric rides and we hope that everyone who came had a wonderful Drive Electric Week. Truly a movement worth celebrating!
San Jose	San Jose, CA	This last minute registration as a NDEW event was to boost our statistics. The San Jose Chapter of the EAA annually participates in the local Airport Day, where the public can come in an get free rides. There were probably 500 cars that parked there with attendees wandering the tarmac, looking at the planes, the antique cars, the hot rods AND THE EVs we brought. There were robotics displays in action, food trucks in the parking lot and a very civil crowd. One EAA old timer brought his home-made walking horse, pulling a covered carriage driven by a 3 phase motor, totally solar powered. It was a 1 HP bike motor, and room to seat two, with electronic reins to steer, featuring giant 4 foot stagecoach wheels. Crafted for "Burning Man" about 15 years ago, it still attracted many, and the kids loved it. Our EV display was static because of the heavy pedestrian traffic. Our table had the brochures from Plug In America, and we had various people come by asking about the organization. Lasting from 10-3 we had slow but steady traffic. On display we had: 1 Tesla Model 3, 1 e-Golf 1 Converted VW Golf (with lithium batteries and functional A/C ). 1 City-El (three-wheeled single seater) 1 2011 Nissan LEAF (on its second battery pack) 1 Chevy Bolt EV A half dozen attendees drove their EVs (Tesla, Bolt EV, i3 wtc) but parked in the visitor area. They probably came for the airplane rides. Total event attendance was probably 2-3,000. Unknown, since we were not the organizers.
San Luis Obispo	San Luis Obispo, CA	This was the first of three events in San Luis Obispo. It was primarily and inside, informational event, but with several EV and e-bike vendors displaying their wares in the outside courtyard during registration/ food service. San Luis Obispo	San Luis Obispo, CA	As part of a week long celebration of National Drive Electric Week, the SLO Climate Coalition and Central Coast Clean Cities Coalition hosted a Green Car Show at Farmers' Market in San Luis Obispo, on September 13. The show featured electric vehicles from a variety of manufactures including Tesla Model 3, Model S and Model x, Nissan Leaf, BMW i3, Chevy Bolt and Spark, Honda Clarity, and a variety of electric bicycles.
San Luis Obispo	San Luis Obispo, CA	We had our mayor come out along with about 200 other people. Some who just happened to be driving by, some who found out through our many forms of outreach (radio, facebook, email, signage, etc). 15 cars were available at different times during our 9-3pm window. We also had 20-30 electric bikes on display and hundreds of test rides of those took place as well!
San Mateo	San Mateo, CA	Marketo hosted its second annual National Drive Electric Week event at the San Mateo office on Thursday, September 13th. The weather cooperated, and after careful planning, the event went off without a hitch. Display cars included three Tesla Model 3s, a Tesla Model X, a Chevrolet Bolt EV, a Nissan LEAF, a Volkswagen e-Golf, a BMW i3, and a Chevrolet Volt. In a shady booth, Allyson Gaarder from the Clean Vehicle Rebate Project brought her Chevrolet Volt and showed attendees how they could receive California rebates for buying a variety of electric cars Vehicle owners gave attendees a look at their cars and enjoyed talking with each other about the pleasures of electric motoring. One of the Model 3s was available for rides. Nissan supplied some swag, including water bottles, mini backbacks, pens, and tiny fans that attach to your phone. Attendees received a red token good for a $5 discount at the food trucks, which were right next to the event. It’s good to have a chance to learn about EVs from the people who drive them!
San Mateo	San Mateo, CA	This event provided plenty of exposure to EV information through literature, rides, vehicle displays, and engaging conversation with owners, dealers, and exhibitors.
Santa Cruz	Santa Cruz, CA	We had another great turnout with approximately 600 people in attendance with 20 electric vehicles present including 3 test drive vehicles. We had 11 groups that had a booth at our event to provide education resources or a free service such as electric bike test rides. In addition to the 18 ride and drives (with an additional 10 people riding along), we had 3 electric bike vendors with approximately 52 people taking an electric bike ride. We estimate that an additional 400 people were exposed to our event in downtown Santa Cruz that day (as noted by the 1,000 total above) and an additional 10,000 through our print advertisements in our local publications and online advertising.
Santa Maria	Santa Maria, CA	We had a static showcase of plug-in electric vehicles at the Santa Maria Fiesta Patrias celebration on Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 12 noon to 5pm. The event was held in the parking lot of the Santa Maria Town Center West mall. A total of 6 local car dealerships brought vehicles to the event, including a Nissan LEAF, Chevy Bolt, Chevy Volt, Hyundai Ioniq, and Toyota Prius Plug-in Prime, and Honda Clarity BEV and PHEV. Only one local EV owner signed up to participate in the event and displayed their Tesla Model 3. This event highlighted the need for more Spanish-language outreach, including NDEW handouts that are in both Spanish and English. More than 60 percent of all households in the City of Santa Maria speak Spanish at home according to 2013-2017 US Census data and more than 95 percent of all the people we spoke with at the 2018 Fiesta Patrias event spoken Spanish as their primary language. Despite the language barriers, we had more nearly 25 one-on-one interactions with families that wanted more information about EVs. Our staff were able to provide one Spanish-language flyer that Community Environmental Council created for the launch of Electric Drive 805, our regional PEV collaborative. However, we did not have a Spanish-speaking staff member on hand. In many cases, young adults and children in the families translated between English and Spanish.
Solvang	Solvang, CA	On a sunny day in Solvang, California, the Danish-themed town in California's Santa Ynez Valley, over 100 interested members of the general public came and learned about Electric Vehicles and Plug-In Hybrids from private owner EV enthusiasts and EV-knowledgeable dealers who had their cars on display. We had a wide variety of manufacturers and models. The following elected officials came to demonstrate their support for the environmental benefits of EV use and adoption: United States Congressman Salud Carbajal (24th Congressional District of California) and Third District Santa Barbara County Supervisor Joan Hartmann. Supervisor Hartmann put her daily driver Tesla Model S on display at the event. Alex Economou, Air Quality Specialist for the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District, came with an informational booth about SBCAPCD incentive programs for EV ownership and other SBCAPCD programs. Watts	Watts, CA	This year was certainly bigger and more active than our previous events, and there were a couple of important reasons. First, the participation of Tesla in a low-income community of color when the other dealers who had committed to come failed to show sent a powerful message. Tesla is the only car company in our market that has put all its eggs in the electric basket. Nissan still spends some ten times the money on advertising Titans and Rogues than it does on LEAFs. And Tesla's new Model 3 is handily walking away with their lunch money. A couple of owners brought Tesla's as well, and I think there's a bit of a message in a person of color driving a Tesla and showing up in Watts to talk to the community about it. And Jamie with the Tesla Roadster came back for the second year in a row. The second reason our event marks a leap forward is the switch that was flipped on our new solar array at St. John's United Methodist Church. This shows the community in Watts getting its act together and joining the clean energy future. The organizing gambit in putting an EV event in Watts is to challenge the easy assumption that a low-income community is naturally going to take a back seat when it comes to new technology. This is one low-income community that doesn't agree. LADWP Commissioner Aura Vasquez and former Commissioner William Funderburk spoke powerfully about the advocacy of the Watts Clean Air and Energy Committee bringing more solar, more energy efficiency upgrades and more car chargers to Watts. Our group will be speaking before the Commission in the coming months to get them to reverse their neglect of communities in South LA. We're still far behind the richer parts of LA, and we don't feel like putting up with it. And State Assemblyman Mike Gipson and Congresswoman Nanette Barragan sent staff representatives and gave certificates of recognition to members of the Watts Clean Air and Energy Committee.
Avon	Avon, CO	We had a couple of dealerships bail last minute, but otherwise a great turn out!
Boulder	Boulder, CO	The farmers market brought out over 400 community members. There were many great questions about electric vehicles. Right next to the market, a "Rise for Climate" event was held where hundreds of thousands of people worldwide displayed the growing strength and diversity of the climate movement.
Boulder	Boulder, CO	We had great National Drive Electric Week event with The Colorado Renewable Energy Society, we had great speakers review policy in Colorado, several community members came out to network and learn more about the benefits of driving electric.
Colorado Springs	Colorado Springs, CO	With Pikes Peak in the background, home of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, which this year an ELECTRIC set a new overall record, this Colorado Springs event was the largest turn out of electric vehicles known and regarded as a great success by those participating. Many questions were answered and literature obtained by those attending. There was strong support from the Colorado Springs Electric Vehicle Club members and the Denver Electric Vehicle Council. The Colorado Springs Utilities also had a busy presence. The event was well received by the 60 stores at our University Village Colorado location.
Durango	Durango, CO	This is our first year of hosting an event and we anticipate that next year we'll have greater attendance and interest.
Fort Collins	Fort Collins, CO	The tradition is alive and well at our 3rd annual EV Rally in Fort Collins...
Golden	Golden, CO	Bigger and better attended than last year. Great weather, too! No politicians. Mostly it was the owners meeting and chatting with each other, far out-numbering non-owners most of the time. Still, it was an enjoyable and successful event in the eyes of all participants/attendees. It was well promoted by me in my weekly column that appeared in the Denver Post and 4 local weekly newspapers on the Thursday prior. In light of that it was a disappointing turn-out to me, but fine in everyone else's opinion! We had four Tesla Model 3s show up, one with 26 miles on the odometer because the owner brought it directly from taking delivery of it in Littleton!
Greeley	Greeley, CO	There were 6 great vehicles that were on display and excited EV owners were able to educate families in the community about the benefits of electric vehicles. Pueblo West	Pueblo West, CO	This event took place at the Pueblo public library and a lot of our attendees were passer-by's who were entering and exiting the library. We were able to showcase some Tesla's and a Leaf. We also showed the movie, "Revenge of the Electric Vehicle" which had about 20 attendees.
Hamden	Hamden, CT	The Hamden NDEW event was the first-ever in Hamden and in the New Haven metropolitan area. 43 people registered on the NDEW website. These registrants indicated that an additional 34 people would accompany them (43 + 34 = 77 total). Among these attendees, 24 EVs were registered. At the actual event, 21 EVs were displayed, including these models: Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model S, Chevrolet Bolt, Chevrolet Volt, Ford C-Max Energi, BMW i3REx, Chrysler Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid, Ford Fusion Energi, Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid, Nissan Leaf, and an electric bicycle. Although 77 individuals were registered online, we estimate at least 100, probably closer to 120, individuals attended the event; some came from afar including Long Island, Fairfield County, Haddam, CT, and Waterford, CT. A proclamation signed by Hamden Mayor Curt Leng declaring the Hamden National Drive Electric Week, 8–16 September 2018, was presented at the event.
Middletown	Middletown, CT	Sunny day with all colors of Teslay 3's . Roadster, S & X. Some Facebook advertising notably increased exposure and foot traffic. Juice Bar Manufacturers representative demonstrated EVSE's.
New Britain	New Britain, CT	Thank you to all those who participated. This was our 7th year at this location and was listed as a reunion event. The turn out was nice since it was not really promoted and the weather was questionable. Electric Vehicles are getting easier to find for display purposes but, It is the fine owners willing to show their cars and share the experiences only an EV owner can provide that makes NDEW events great. We had a diverse group that were all remarkable in their own way however, one attendee really helped make it a memorable experience for everybody. He is truly one of the best EV ambassadors that I have ever met. His knowledge, generosity and commitment to the promotion of electric vehicles made this small reunion event one of the best events we ever had. I think the other attendees were impressed as well. We hold other larger events across the state and hope to see all the attendees again.
Norwich	Norwich, CT	We partnered with the Greater Norwich Area Chamber of Commerce to hold the Ride & Drive at the Healthy Living Festival. The festival involved over 30 vendors and health care professionals to promote a healthy lifestyle. We felt that promoting clean transportation was a great addition.
Old Saybrook	Old Saybrook, CT	The NDEW event in Old Saybrook, CT was the only event on the Connecticut shoreline between Fairfield, CT and the Rhode Island border. The event had excellent attendance, with 82 documented visitors at the registration table. This represents an undercount; true attendance was likely over 100. The event was held at Saybrook Point, a scenic town park along the waterfront of the Connecticut River. This setting was busy with lots of incidental traffic, some of whom attended the EV event. At our information table where attendees checked in, we distributed flyers and brochures about the cost-saving and clean-air advantages of owning an EV, provided by Plug In America as well as by the National and Connecticut Chapter of the Sierra Club. We conducted a "Q&A" session about owning and driving EVs that included 30 participants. The total number of EVs displayed was 23, including vehicles brought by dealers. EV models provided by dealers included the Chevrolet Volt, Nissan Leaf, Honda Clarity, Toyota Prius Prime, and Mercedes GLC 350E. EV models provided by owners included the Chevrolet Bolt, Chevrolet Volt, Tesla (Model S, Model 3, and Roadster), BMW i3REX, Fiat 500e, Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid, and Honda Clarity. Guests were able to experience test ''drives'' or test ''rides'' in a variety of EV models, driving a scenic four-mile loop including the shore of Long Island Sound. Our NDEW site was chosen to conduct a survey for the U.S. Department of Energy about the value of test drives in promoting greater understanding of EVs. We wish to thank the volunteers who helped plan and set up the event, staffed our information table, and participated in our ''Q&A'' session. We also thank the Saybrook Point Inn and Bishop’s Orchards of Guilford for their generous donations. First Selectman of the Town of Old Saybrook Carl Fortuna made a proclamation of ''Old Saybrook Drive Electric Week, 8–16 September 2018'' and was present at the Saybrook Point EV event.
Oxford	Oxford, CT	GM sent 2 representives in addition to a sales person from Ingersoll Auto for test Drives of the BoltEV. Quarry Walk announced their plans for destination and fast chargers along with the green initiatives they currently have in place and more to come. All of the owners were excited to share stories and experiences with each other, the reps and curious community members during a gorgeous day!
Pomfret Center	Pomfret Center, CT	We had some newer plug in vehicles participating, including a Tesla Model 3 and a Chrysler Pacifica PHEV.
West Hartford	West Hartford, CT	The event was a huge success and we had speeches given by Oz Griebel (Candidate for Governor), Tom Dillow (Head of School - Kingswood Oxford), and Shari Cantor (Mayor of West Hartford) in addition to the presentation of an "Official Statement" from the governor's office. Estimated attendance was 300-500 people and there was a steady flow throughout the whole day. We had great food vendors and a lot of student/teacher's attend as well. Filled up to capacity.
Washington	Washington, DC	We had a great day out on the National Mall! It was sunny, there were about as many cars as our permit would allow for, we had an excellent group of volunteers and EV owners on hand, and everyone had a fun time talking to each other and the public about the movement to electrify transportation. Our headquarters area was staffed from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., providing 6 hours of EV related fun and education. At least two local Sierra Club chapter representatives were available at all times, enabling us to promote other green initiatives as well. We also had a local clean energy startup company, called Ipsun Power, come and display some of their tech and ideas. There were at least a few serious conversations with prospective EV buyers about the range of options and benefits. At around noon we gathered everyone up for pizza and a few comments by representatives from the Electrical Vehicle Association of Greater Washington DC and the Sierra Club.
Newark	Newark, DE	The event, sponsored by the Delaware Sierra Club, the University of Delaware, and the Delaware Clean Cities Coalition, had three components: an electric vehicle display, vendor tables, and presentations on electric vehicles and clean transportation. In total, the event had six vehicles on display, five vendors, and eight presentations. As the event was held in the Trabant Student Center at the University of Delaware, attendees included students, parents, faculty, and members of the public.
Destin	Destin, FL	A big thanks to all of you who made it out to the Destin Commons for our 4th Annual National Drive Electric Week EVent! It was hot but this year we had a cool selection of EV’s. Here is the tally; 89 people registered and we had, 3 Tesla Model X, 8 Tesla Model S, 8 Tesla Model 3, 1 Tesla Roadster, 3 Nissan LEAF’s, 4 BMW i3’s, 5 Zero Motorcycles, 2 Ford C-Max, 1 BMW i3 REx, 1 Fiat 500e, 1 Honda Clarity Plug-In, 1 Mitsubishi i-MiEV, 1 Smart fortwo. The i-MiEV was recognized as the 100,000 EV sold in the USA! Another big thank you to EGO Power Plus, Coastal Powersports and Emerald Coast Science Center for donating prizes! Estero	Estero, FL	It was a better turn out than last year! So many people! So many questions! So many smiles!
New Port Richey	New Port Richey, FL	This was our first EV so we really didn't know what to expect for turnout but we were happy with the 40 EV owners who came to share information about their cars! The event was from 10am to 2pm and we had about 600 non EV owners come to check out the new/used EVs and chat with the EV owners. We also had electric golf cart and electric bike vendors scheduled to show and test drive. Solar energy companies were also invited so we has a little something for everyone. Mayor Marlowe was first in our line-up of EVs and was interviewed by two Tampa news channels and the local paper. The EV owners were very happy with the lay out of the event and the vendors were very happy with the contacts they made with potential EV buyers.
Orlando	Orlando, FL	Our UCF Charge On! Electric Vehicle Display went well. We were successful in showcasing both EV owners and local EV businesses. The event set-up took about two hours, and the actual event took place between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Positioning the EV Display in a hot spot at the University of Central Florida meant a lot of foot traffic. Students and community members visited to ask questions and understand sustainable transportation. No politicians participated. This was mainly a student-oriented event. In regards to improvements for next year, there are two main areas of focus. 1. The DriveElectricWeek.Org website. This website unnecessarily shields City Captains from being able to directly contact registered participants. Instead, we had to contact register-ees through the NDEW website. Barely anybody responded to these internal-website messages and this led to an extreme amount of confusion on both ends. While, as a city captain, I contacted all of our registerees to request for additional information (phone number, insurance, requirements), almost nobody was responding. Therefore, I could not fully integrate them into our event. On the day of the event, 25+ vehicle owners showed up expecting to be showcased. I had to turn the majority of them away. 2. Our location. The UCF Student Union is a small venue for Orlando, such a large city. We could only accommodate about 7-9 vehicles without endangering students, and this limits our ability to conduct a large scale event.
Sarasota	Sarasota, FL	Comissioner of Sarasota County read the proclamation for the EVent.
Sarasota	Sarasota, FL	The City of Sarasota and County of Sarasota officially proclaimed September 8-15, National Drive Electric Week. In addition 11 owner vehicles were on display or available for drives, we had 3 new car dealers available for drives. Ours was the second event and was held at the Florida House Institute, a showcase for sustainability. We focused on the AFFORDABILITY of EVs. With a large number of EVs coming off 2- and 3-yr. leases, we encouraged people to look at pre-owned EVs that can be purchased in our area for $9,000-$12,000. People were surprised and delighted to discover they could afford to buy an EV. We provided them with additional handouts with links to online resources to find and purchase pre-owned. The location was on a high traffic road, so there were a number of cars that drove by, with actual attendance about 60-70. Considering the heat (90-degrees with a heat index of 110), we feel the turnout was good.
Satellite Beach	Satellite Beach, FL	We kicked off the event at 10 am with Satellite Beach FL City Councilwoman Mindy Gibson reading the proclamation signed by the Mayor Frank Cantino. A local Boy Scouts troop helped with the set-up and held a cobbler and popcorn fundraiser. We had the NASA Lunar Rover test vehicle on display to remind everyone that it was also electric powered. Attendees appreciated the food trucks and especially the one with ice cream. The weather was perfect if not a tad hot. We had plenty of pop up tents sprinkled throughout the parking lot for both the ride and drive section and the display only area for everyone to hide from the sun while talking about EVs. Our free raffle prizes donated by both Space Coast EV Drivers club members and each of the exhibitors were a huge hit. With a drawing every 10 minutes we were able to keep the place very active with attendees. The ride and drives were very popular and attendees agreed this event should be held more than once per year and preferably in the cooler months.
Tallahassee	Tallahassee, FL	56 Electric vehicles come to the Spanish-moss covered oak groves of Tallahassee. Attendance was over 350 people for the first event of its kind in the Panhandle Big Bend area of Florida. Electric bus, bikes, cars , owners and dealers educated our community on the virtues of plug-in electric vehicles.
West Palm Beach	West Palm Beach, FL	This year we (the City of West Palm Beach Mayor's Office of Sustainability) partnered with the Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society to host the Drive Electric Week Wrap Up Event. We had around 35 personal EV drivers attend the event as well as around 1500 people who visited the Zoo that day. Tesla, Karma Palm Beach, Braman BMW, Sierra Club, and EnviroSpark all had a presence at the event and were able to interact with the visitors. We also set up a hydration station (which was a big hit) and gave away reusable/collapsible water bottles so that everyone could stay hydrated.
Alpharetta	Alpharetta, GA	The most diverse range of vehicles at our event, ever (since 2011). We had 6 vehicles available for test drives, with the Honda Clarity our newest addition to test drive events. A Jaguar i-Pace was a last-minute addition and highlight for those looking at higher end EVs. Georgia Power hosted a photo booth to engage participants.
Atlanta	Atlanta, GA	The inaugural Drive The Future Atlanta event was a big success! Some key highlights from the event include: 1. Our registered owners who displayed their cars, collectively drove over 1,425,000 Million+ Electric miles 2. We received a Proclamation from The City of Atlanta in acknowledgment and support of the Drive The Future Atlanta event 3. There were a diverse array of vehicles on display including the first Nissan LEAF registered in Georgia, a hand built Electric Motorcycle, Electric Scooters and Motorcycles, a Zenith Electric Bus, along with a host of other electric vehicles at all different price points 4. This was Porsche North America's first time participating in an Electric Vehicle Event \| they displayed the PHEV Panamera Plug-In Ride and Drives were offered by 7 different companies providing opportunities for attendees to "touch, see and experience" vehicles at a variety of price points and 5. Atlanta City Councilman, Michael Bond, attended the event in support of educating diverse communities about EV adoption 6. Given the success of the event and feedback from attendees and participants, we know that more events and opportunities to engage around this topic are needed in our communities. Aiea	Aiea, HI	This event was one of many throughout the state of Hawaii during National Drive Electric Week. Other events around the state hosted vehicles and ride-and-drives. This event was targeted for a broader, diverse audience to draw attention to electric vehicles and NDEW. An EV booth was at the University of Hawaii football providing EV education and giveaways. An EV commercial played during the game with an audience of over 23,000. The budget was split amongst other marketing campaigns so direct cost of this event was relatively small.
Hilo	Hilo, HI	Our September 15, 2018 Hilo event was held at The Home Depot. Despite periodic rain, we had a good turnout of club members and the general public. Members drove from Kona and Kau (West and South Hawaii) to join our event. One member drove 80 miles with his 1980’s Mercury Lynx EV conversion. We had a good selection of electric cars – Tesla Model 3, Model X, and Model S, Chevy Bolt and Volt, Kia Soul, Nissan LEAF, BMW i3, Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Mercury Lynx, and the BYD SUV, a total of 23 electric cars. Kamaaina Nissan and De Luz Chevy brought the 2018 Nissan LEAFs and Chevy Bolts, respectively, and conducted several test drives. Citizens’ Climate Lobby representatives shared information about the Revenue Neutral Carbon Fee and Dividend concept. Our local utility (Hawaii Electric Co.) addressed questions regarding their Fast Charging infrastructure and TOU program. They also brought along their BYD (Chinese) electric SUV. Senator Russell Ruderman gave a speech about the importance of the electric car and shared his personal experience with his 2018 Nissan LEAF. Heather Kimball, former Sierra Club chair, scientist, business owner, and local environmental leader, gave a speech about her experience (she also owns a Nissan LEAF) and the importance of sustainable transportation. Barett Otani, the County Deputy Director presented the association with a letter of appreciation from the Mayor’s office. We had good traffic throughout the event. (It helps that our residents are not fazed by rain. Hilo is one of the wettest towns in the nation.) Many guests were interested in getting an electric car. Several were already EV owners who wanted to join our association. Honolulu	Honolulu, HI	We gave 37 people-- or groups of people-- 67 test drives in three hours. We had cars on display in a high traffic area of Honolulu as well and did a lot of social media promotion, putting the event in front of many people.
Kamuela	Kamuela, HI	Our September 8, 2018 event was held at the Waimea Center, a small shopping center in the town of Kamuela (Waimea). We had great weather throughout the event. Many club members in the area, along with a few who drove in from as far as Kona and Keaau, joined our event. They brought their cars and we had a good mix – Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model X, Tesla Mode S, Chevy Bolt, Nissan LEAF, BMW i3, VW eGolf, Chevy Volt and BYD SUV. Local Nissan and Chevy dealerships brought the 2018 Nissan LEAF and Chevy Bolt, respectively. They fielded questions from several potential customers and took several on test drives. Our local Citizens’ Climate Lobby representative, Ron Reilly, shared information about the Revenue Neutral Carbon Fee and Dividend concept. Our local utility (Hawaii Electric Co.) joined and addressed questions regarding their Fast Charging infrastructure and TOU program. They also brought along their BYD (Chinese) electric SUV. Ron Whitmore, Hawaii County Deputy Director, gave speech on sustainability and the role of electric cars in and presented the association with a letter of appreciation from the Mayor’s office. We had foot traffic the throughout our event. Several attendees had really basic questions about electric cars. Several joined to help finalize purchase decisions. (One of our members ordered a Tesla Model 3 a few days later.) Kihei	Kihei, HI	Our event was held at the Maui Research and Technology Center in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii and featured several Tesla Model 3s, Model S, and one founder's edition Model X along with several Nissan Leaf electric vehicles. Many attendees got to experience driving a Tesla EV for the first time and learned the many benefits and ease of use it is in driving and owning an electric vehicle! Guests in attendance included folks from Maui Electric Co., folks throughout the Tech Park, and EV Owners and Enthusiasts. Attendees also got to learn of the benefits of going solar from Maui company, Pacific Energy!
West Des Moines	West Des Moines, IA	People seemed more interesed in EVs this year. Our local utility, a PV dealer and our local Nissan dealer contacted me asking to participate. This was a first! Our local EV drivers were just as willing as ususal to come and tell their story. The Nissan, Mitsubishi and Mini Cooper dealers sent cars. all other car dealers were unresponsive. I also invited 3 bicycle shops that sell electric bikes. None of them showed up.
Moscow	Moscow, ID	This was a first time effort for us and considering that, we feel it went fairly well. We were pretty well organized. Though we had actually 2 different locations: the first one at a block party for returning University of Idaho students and the second, a block away from our Saturday Farmers Market. We would try to find an even better location for the Sat market, to catch more traffic. Our City got involved, and displayed the first electric vehicle they have purchased (for our water department.) That vehicle has gotten a lot of use, and our City hopes to purchase more. So that's excellent. Hope you like this photo. It's shows our future demographic, yes?
Moscow	Moscow, ID	This was the best event yet with more vehicles, more different type of vehicles, and more participants. The venue was perfect, but if there were a few more EVs, it would not be large enough.
Arlington Heights	Arlington Heights, IL	The local Tesla club made all the difference. Without them and their social network/club notifications, this show would have been dismal.
Bloomington	Bloomington, IL	Our Electric Vehicle Ride & Drive went great! We had around 150 people over the course of the event and there were plenty of great conversations, laughs, and education going on.
Carlyle	Carlyle, IL	A hot day, but a great day to see what electric cars can do! We enjoyed visiting, sharing, showing off our cars, admiring other folks cars and, most of all, learning! We saw lots of local people and had visitors from over 100 miles away: 140 in total attended! Some of the cars were fully electric, some were plug-in hybrids. We had 2 car dealers providing cars including brand-new plug-ins. We volunteer brought his conversion car: a vintage VW bug, which is now on it's second conversion (Release 2.0), to lithium ion batteries. We are already looking forward to next year's event. See you there!
Galena	Galena, IL	If I had to use one word to describe our Galena event, it would have to be 'FUN'... You wouldn't normally connect that with climate change, but we had such enthusiastic exhibitors who loved sharing their passion with the visitors - and the weather was beautiful! We made great connections and got our message across to David Simpson and Nick Hyde, the political candidates who attended, as well as the city council, represented by Pam Bernstein. We had solar cooking demos by two different vendors (I bought a solar oven!) and EV's like a Tesla, Nissan Leaf, KIA Niro and the city's Chevy Bolt. We also handed out free 'Boomerang Bags', made by our members, and talked about plastic pollution. 'Ride the Rails' was there gathering support for their Chicago-Dubuque passenger train petition, a local group supporting immigrants rights and helping low-income families, and our new local food, on-line buying club presented their services. Turnout could have been better of course. We'll have to review our strategies for next year. (est. total of 50 attendants)
Highland Park	Highland Park, IL	State senator Julie Morrison and US congressman Brad Schneider were there. City manager was there. We had a story in the city news paper.
Naperville	Naperville, IL	The Fox Valley Electric Auto Association hosted the 2018 NDEW Naperville EVent at the Naperville Test Track. We had a great turnout of 50 or more EVs/PHEVs! Visitors enjoyed viewing EVs and talking with their owners. We had music (DJed), literature handouts, test drives, and ride alongs. Over 75 people took advantage of the test drive or ride along portion of the EVent, some even going multiple laps around the track.
Concordia	Concordia, KS	Clifton Clyde High School brought a big class of students and they all loved driving the Leaf and riding in the Teslas. A few riders got to drive the Teslas as well.
Kansas City	Kansas City, KS	We met at the Boulevard Drive-In theater when it opened at 7pm. They had reserved parking for us and we set up and talked to members and owners of ICE vehicles who were also at the drive in. We couldn't do test drives because we had to remain parked but we did demonstrate features of the cars, hand out information, and answer any questions.
Lawrence	Lawrence, KS	The Lawrence Electric Vehicle Showcase was organized by the Sustainability Action Network with the help of our co-sponsors, The Sierra Club/Wakarusa Group, and The Merc Co+op grocery store. We held the event in The Merc's parking lot where they had just installed two 16-bay solar PV carports and an EV charging station. We had 18 cars total, plus 5 electric bicycles (including an ELF, electric assist tricycle by Organic Transit). The showcase participants displayed four Tesla Model S (including Founder's Edition serial #28), three Tesla Model 3, two Tesla Model X, three Nissan LEAF, two Chevrolet Bolts, one Chevrolet Volt, one Toyota Prius Plus, one Ford C-MAX Energi, and one Mercedes B-Class B250e. The Prius Plus was brought by the local Toyota dealer. Several cars came from a distance - Topeka KS, Kansas City, Lee's Summit MO, and the farthest from Kearney MO, 65 miles away. One participant also brought a Ninebot One (Google it). Brian McClendon, of Google Earth fame, brought his Tesla Model S, 2012 Founder's Edition, serial #28. Two City Commissioners brought electric vehicles - Lisa Larsen rode her E-bicycle, and Jennifer Ananda drove her 2014 Chevrolet Volt. The City Commission also issued a Mayor's Proclamation for our Drive Electric Day. Our estimated attendance was 200.
Overland Park	Overland Park, KS	We were able to join forces with many of our coalition partners to highlight the benefits of Electric Vehicles.
Prairie Village	Prairie Village, KS	Prairie Village mayor proclaimed the week as NDEW in our city. Our church's environmental action committee was a sponsor and did a fair amount of publicity for the event. I gave a one hour class on why drive electric. one of the Tesla x put on the christmas show several times and demonstrated the summon mode. We had 4 PHEVs KIA Niro, Honda Clarity, Ford C-max energi and Mercedes 250e Tesla S,X and 3 Chevy Volt and Bolt Many Nissan Leafs from 2011 through 2018 A Zero motorcycle and electric bike
Wichita	Wichita, KS	Got coverage on a local news station. Never aired due to Florence. FIVE different Teslas came! We did not know how many people or how many EVs to expect but we were at capacity for our space!
Lexington	Lexington, KY	Lexington, Kentucky once again for 2018 celebrated NDEW with two events. First we had a Theatrical Premiere of documentary film EVOLVE: Driving a Clean Future in Coal Country by award-winning Louisville filmmaker Ben Evans at the Kentucky Theatre. Second we had an Electric Vehicle Day at Whole Foods Market which also featured a Solar Installer Showcase of four local installers, UK Solar Car, Lextran E-Bus, and Pedal Power E-Bikes. Evolve KY members displayed 20 vehicles of 9 different models: Nissan Leaf, Fiat 500e, Chevy Bolt, Volt, Tesla Model S, Model 3, Fisker Karma, Honda Clarity, and BMW i3 from Don Jacobs dealer. Even with the rain, we had a great turnout of around 600 people and nearly 50 test rides. Kentucky is Evolving!
Louisville	Louisville, KY	This was a history making event. It was the largest display of electric vehicles in Kentucky's history. We had 50 EVs (very impressive for our state) and many makes and models even a Tesla Roadster (again very rare in KY). We had the TARC electric bus on display and some small fleet vehicles. It was very hot, but everyone enjoyed the event. We also did a screening of the film CHARGE.
Louisville	Louisville, KY	This event weekend had to be rescheduled to the following weekend because of storms. We ended up doing it on Sunday (the slower, less attended day) because we had another big event DEW planned for the Saturday of that weekend.
Abita Springs	Abita Springs, LA	We had a great event. It started at 10:00 AM with the Mayor of Abita Springs, Greg Lemons, cutting the ribbon on our first ever EV chargers in the town of Abita Springs; the town's new LED bulletin-board sign was also dedicated. Tesla donated the charging stations, so we have two Tesla chargers and one Level 2 charger. They are located in the town's main parking area for the historic area, the Tammany Trace Museum and 30-mile biking/hiking path and several local restaurants and the park, where attractions like festivals and music events are held monthly. Our event continued in the adjacent park after the conclusion of the EV charging ceremony. We had thirteen EV vehicles show up for the event, and there were also many hybrids in the area. Six of the EVs were Teslas, including two Model X's. Other vehicles included a Hyundai Ioniq, a Chevy Volt, 2 Honda Claritys and an EV dune buggy and EV motorcycle/3-wheeler built by a local designer. The Louisiana Tesla Owners and Dreamers Club participated and were happy to give rides in their Teslas. They were among the first cars to use the new EV chargers!
Gonzales	Gonzales, LA	We had the Jaguar I-Pace Prototype at the event this year! The Jaguar dealer brought a tent and we had our own tent as well. The Louisiana Tesla Owners and Dreamers Facebook Group joined us bringing at least 2 examples of every Tesla Model currently made. This year we focused on talking to shoppers at the mall about the vehicles and making the event feel more accessible to the general public. LCF also made custom event t-shirts! Don't they look great?

Lafayette	Lafayette, LA	I was able to attend the Thursday drive electric vehicle experience. We had a Tesla Model 3 and X, a Chevrolet Bolt, two Nissan Leafs, a Prius Prime, and a battery electric boat (1983 Duffy Electric Launch) turn out for the event. Several people were given rides in Model X, and I gave about six boat rides for several groups, about 12 people total. We may have been the only event in the nation that offered boat rides as part of the EV experience!
Ashfield	Ashfield, MA	This small event was organized in order to provide rides/drives requested by individuals who were unable to attend Northampton event. We were unable to post the event on the NDEW website due to technical difficulties. A Tesla Model S, Chevy Bolt and Nissan Leaf were featured. Failed to get a photograph of all 3 EVs, because Bolt and Tesla were seldom onsite at the same time. Very good interactions with attendees.
Beverly	Beverly, MA	Overall the event was great. Of all of the dealers I contacted to come and offer test drives only BMW, Mitsubishi, and Chevy came. Nissan was a no-show, and the local SMART dealer never came. Thankfully some local owners and businesses filled in the gaps. We had at least four Model 3 on hand for the whole day for people to look at, and many owners stayed for the full 6 hour event. It was fantastic. We also had a local surf shop bring the electric OneWheel skateboard, which was a big hit. A local owner named Rich who has a tremendous online following (Rich Rebuilds) brought the "Tesla trailer" with Lee who helped him build it. The trailer is made from a junk Tesla battery pack. And on that trailer they were towing a 100% electric 1960s parade vehicle used at Disney. They had that driving around the event for a few hours. It was so cool. The mayor was supposed to come but was unable to at the last minute. I know we had at least one city councillor show up, as well as a few local sustainability groups. We also had the 350.org "Rise for Climate" event right next to the NDEW event. Given how much our interests overlapped, we figured it would be beneficial to share the space. It was fantastic.
Braintree	Braintree, MA	Our third annual NDEW event was a great success again. We had over 85 attendees, and more than 70 test drives! This year, we had a greater focus on local EV owners, and 16 different people from Braintree and surrounding towns brought their cars to show off! We also had 6 different EV models from local dealers, representing 5 different brands. Ben and Jerry's was a big hit, and was an excellent addition to our advertising. We served over 100 servings of delicious ice cream! Cambridge	Cambridge, MA	The event occurred simultaneously to and on the grounds of - Cambridge's Danehy Park Family Day. Thousands of families attended the event, passing by and/or engaging with the EV event. The ride & drive portion of the event was sponsored by a local utility (Eversource) employing the help of a communications strategy firm (Reach Strategies). Local environmental groups, consumer alliances, dealerships and EV enthusiasts helped further enrich the information and personal accounts available at the event. In addition to the multitude of families, athletes, and park goers who attended, there were also City Council Members and City Department Division Directors. A class of local college students attended the event and held interviews with EV owners and advocates. It was a very successful day!
Dartmouth	Dartmouth, MA	We did this event on campus during a student organization fair. So, there were probably 2,000 people at their event and since we were near the free pizza table, most of them saw our display. We interacted with approximately 400 members of the campus community. We did have two members of the community bring their cars to our event, which was great.
Lowell	Lowell, MA	Thanks to a $2,500 Ride-n-Drive grant from Plug In America, the first annual Lowell Drives Electric, held on Saturday, September 15, 2018, was a stunning success. Thanks to the EV car owners and visitors, we had a perfect event in Lowell, Massachusetts along the beautiful Merrimack River at Heritage Farm Ice Cream & Restaurant. The weather was ideal and all four invited dealerships showed up to offer test drives in Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Chevy EV or PHEV vehicles. Dealerships included Lannan Chevrolet, Cornerstone Mitsubishi, Autofair Nissan, and Atamian Honda. In addition, 33 different owners of Tesla, Volvo, Smart Car, Chrysler, Kia, BMW EVs and many more makes of cars brought their vehicles for display. Approximately 13 owners took visitors for rides continually throughout the afternoon in their vehicles. Lowell City Councilor Karen Cirillo was on hand to cut the ribbon opening Lowell Drives Electric at noon. Remarks from Co-City Captains Geoff Koetsch and Scott Darlington were followed by speakers from the Green Energy Consumers Alliance and Revision Energy. Later in the afternoon State Senate candidate and likely winner Ed Kennedy stopped by the Lowell Drives Electric to visit and talk with EV owners. Throughout the course of the afternoon a band played classic rock songs as approximately 150 Lowell Drives Electric participants and owners enjoyed EV cars, music, and ice cream until 5 pm. We were also joined by many visitors walking to and from the large India Cultural Festival taking place across the street. In addition to the car test drives, demo rides, and displays, there was a kids zone complete with small electric car, electric bike demo rides from a bike store, and tents from environmental organizations (Sierra Club, 350.org), clean energy companies (Revision Energy), and the Green Energy Consumers Alliance. Participants and passersby alike enjoyed a dynamic and fun experience while learning about, sitting in, and driving electric vehicles.
Marblehead	Marblehead, MA	Staff from the Marblehead Municipal Light Department were on site to talk about the event and promote the EV Charging Incentive offered to Marblehead Residents. Customer testimonials were recorded with EV owners who participate in the program, and the head of the light department, Joe Kowalik.
Melrose	Melrose, MA	Another great NDEW event in the books! We moved our NDEW event to a new location on East Foster Street this year which was more centrally located to the annual Victorian Fair and offered space for more cars. Some of the volunteers who brought their EVs this year had been introduced to them at last year's NDEW event which was great to hear. We offered a great variety of plug-ins at our showcase including a Nissan Leaf, Teslas, Bolts, a Volt, a VW, Honda Clarity, and Chrysler Pacifica. Our local cable access station interviewed some of the EV owners and got some footage of the cars and can be viewed on MMTV3.org in the next few days. In addition, the Melrose Free Press reporter took some photos and interviews which will appear in Thursday's edition on Melrose.WickedLocal.com. Congresswoman Katherine Clark from Melrose purchased a Bolt this year and stopped by to say hi as well. Natick	Natick, MA	We had a great event with a good turnout it terms of participating EVs, but the mix was not as great as we had hoped. no Nissan EV attended the event which is strange when considering Nissan is a major sponsor. the Town of Natick was extremely helpful in getting Natick Mall to approve the event and getting Wegmans to participate and allow us to section off a large section of the garage.
Northampton	Northampton, MA	We featured a nice assortment of EVs: 10 makes and 14 models. Private owners brought old and new EVs, and shared their experience of driving electric with enthusiasm. TESLAs (four 3s, two Ss, two Xs) were a hit. A SMART Fortwo EV and an i-MiEV with a bright yellow kayak on top drew a lot of attention and provided rides. Ford Northampton brought a FUSION ENERGI, the only plug-in EV on their lot. BMW West Springfield generously brought an i3 (for test rides/drives) and an i8 (for eye appeal). A Chevrolet dealership with no BOLTs brought two VOLTs for test rides/drives. With no Nissan dealer, information and a few rides/drives were provided by owners of LEAFs from 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2018. The event inspired the purchase of at least one new LEAF from our local dealer. Support from the Department of Energy, materials provided by Plug In America and gifts from Nissan were much appreciated. Three solar companies were on hand to discuss options available to EV owners who want to install domestic solar to further reduce their environmental impact. Their promotions were supported by several EV owners who charge with domestic solar. The weather was lovely and music by Sam Chevalier, Big Y's manager, was spectacular. A BOLT owner noted that the skillful guitar playing and wonderful singing increasingly distracted him from the task of promoting his vehicle. Big Y World Class Market was a terrific host partner. We chose to collaborate with Big Y, in part, to highlight the support for electric transportation they have demonstrated since 2013 when they began installing EV chargers at stores in Massachusetts and Connecticut. The use of a large portion of their parking lot as a safe and accessible space for our EV display and the availability of EV chargers made them an ideal host. Then they scheduled their in-store Autumn Fest to coincide with our event - a benefit to both.
South Weymouth	South Weymouth, MA	This Weymouth EV showcase setup alongside the weekly Union Point farmers' market, filled with vendors selling locally sourced fresh produce, homemade breads, crafts and more. A musician filled the air with songs on an acoustic guitar, and a wide open parking lot served as a playground for testing out some of the latest plug-in electric vehicles. Test drive vehicles included the 2018 Mini Plug-in Countryman, 2018 Chevrolet Bolt, 2018 Chevrolet Volt, and 2018 Toyota Prius Prime. Vehicles on display included 2018 Nissan LEAF, 2018 Tesla Model 3, 2016 & 2017 Chevrolet Bolt, 2012 Tesla Model S, and 2018 Zero Motorcycle.
Wakefield	Wakefield, MA	This event included EVs from BMW, Nissan, Tesla, GM and an electric motorcycle! Hosted by the Wakefield Municipal Gas and Light Department customers were able to take test drives and ask questions of both owners and dealership staff alike. Wakefield staff provided a customer booth with information and snacks to help interested potential EV owners or new EV owners find out how to receive a Free Level Two Charger from the light department.
West Boylston	West Boylston, MA	Special thanks to Quirk Chevrolet in Braintree MA for bringing the Bolt and Volt along with the West Boyslton light department.
Weston	Weston, MA	Special thanks to BMW and Tesla for attending this EVent as well as Stephen Russel from the Massachusetts Department of Energy.
Annapolis	Annapolis, MD	The Mayor of Annapolis Mayor and two aldermen came. The Mayor presented us a proclamation proclaiming: "September 8-16, 2018 to be Drive Electric Week in the City of Annapolis." Just to show the enthusiasm of EV owners, of the 60 vehicles registered, 30 showed up in a day-long rainstorm. We held four mini-seminars: Charging 101 (by a SemaConnect representative), Government Incentives & Rates (by a BGE (power utility) representative), Taking a Long Trip in an EV... Yes, You Can! (by the Vice President of the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater DC), and EVs and Climate Change (by the President of the Electric Vehicle Association of Greater DC). All were standing-room only. This being a sailing town, a local company that installs electric motors in boats had a display as did a community solar company. We promoted the event on social media, in local newsletters and electric announcement boards, and with signage all over town, including a banner over the street where the event was held, which was installed a week before the event. Had it been a good, or even moderate, weather day, we would have been slammed with people.
Clarksville	Clarksville, MD	It rained, but we carried on and folks came out in rain jackets! We had one of almost every available EV on the plaza (plus an ELF vehicle), and many more parked in the parking lot. Win Kelly Chevrolet and Owings Mills Tesla sent vehicles and knowledgeable staff people. Tesla Owners of the Mid-Atlantic Club and MD Volt spread the word to their members. Our event was in coordination with the Howard County Sierra Club's Rise 4 Climate event (also at Clarksville Commons). Although there was surely some overlap of interest, each event also brought people who might not have attended the other - mutually beneficial! County Council Rep. Calvin Ball, who is running for County Executive spent some time at the event.
Frederick	Frederick, MD	Unfortunately, a rainy evening put a damper on this event and keep the number of people passing by down. However, we observed some interesting items that show the growth of electric vehicles. We had eight vehicles specifically arrive for the event. We also had about six or seven EVs just stop by either to charge or just go shopping at nearby stores. And lastly, we saw at least half a dozen EVs drive by during the four hours of this event.
Hyattsville	Hyattsville, MD	The total number of people exposed to the event is hard to say, since people come and go over the 5 hour period, but due to the fact that it rained almost the entire day, our numbers were very small compared to what we were expecting. (We were hoping for 500+) Despite the lousy weather we had a nice showing of cars. 54 registered, 44 came, so that was nice. We had Food Trucks, Ice Cream, DJ Music, Balloons, Door Prizes every hour (donated by local businesses), and a continuous video of "rarely seen" television commercials for EVs showing in our building's "multi-purpose" room. (That video was a big hit, with many people asking for a copy of it.) The Hyattsville City Mayor, Police Chief and City Administrator were present, as well as Fox Channel 5 News (Washington, DC). Like last year, we had the country's first Chevrolet Bolt All-Electric Police Patrol Car on display, as well as a Zero DSP All-Electric Police Patrol Motorcycle. BMW was supposed to be at the event with "Ride-N-Drives," but they did not show up or notify us that they were not coming, so that was disappointing. (A local BMW dealer did bring two cars, but did not offer rides/test drives.) Nevertheless, we considered the event to be a huge success, with many kudos and accolades from both visitors and politicians, and we are already planning next year's event!
Poolesville	Poolesville, MD	Maryland Governor Hogan visited our event along with a number of regional and local politicians. Nissan had an awesome display with a friendly team of people and 5 or 6 Ride and Drive Nissan LEAFs. Audi USA and Zero Motorcycles (Cyclemax) had nice displays and were interviewed by Montgomery Community Media ( https://youtu.be/3nfI8iEU754 ). NBC 4 DC came out along a number of print and social media organizations. BMW USA brought their i8, i3 and a BMW 530e. Tesla came out to talk with more 50 new Model 3 owners and with the interested public. We had drivers come from long distances to share their cars and experiences. One had a homemade Tesla battery trailer that extended the distance of his EV Toyota Rav 4. Maryland/DC/Virginia is quickly becoming a major hub for EVs on the east coast and with the help of organizations like our host Poolesville.Green and groups like One Montgomery Green, EVA/DC, MD Volt, and Tesla Owners Club of the Mid-Atlantic, we will continue that trend. Kittery	Kittery, ME	We exhibited at the Kittery Farmers' market so it got great exposure. We have subsequently installed two charging stations at the location. This was our toe in the water for a southern Maine event and to put EVs on the map in Kittery. It has already kickstarted the conversation and we have gone from 0-4 charging stations in less than a year! Also, the town management and council are supportive of EVs. We will be relocating the event to the library where they installed two stations near to a downtown area and use it as a combined media launch event.
South Portland	South Portland, ME	This year the mayor of South Portland, Maine welcomed all the attendees and noted the EV efforts in place for the city of South Portland. Michael Stoddard from Efficiency Maine explained their state-wide efforts to build out an EV charging station infrastructure with monies from the Volkswagon diesalgate issues. He also noted that the Cities of Portland, Westbrook and other communities will be working to obtain electric buses to the greater Portland area comes January 2019. Ben Lake from Greater Portland Council of Governments reviewed initiatives for clean city projects they are working on for the year. Barry Woods was also the moderator of the guest speakers.
Ann Arbor	Ann Arbor, MI	We had 15 Tesla Model 3's in attendance which was a surprise to almost all attendees. The most common comment was 'I didn't think Tesla was able to build any of those.' Without biasing the invitations to the event, the participating vehicles turned out to be half Teslas of various types and the other half other manufacturers. Attendees with vehicles commented they were happy to have a place where they could meet and talk to other EV owners and learn what they have learned about their cars. We had coverage from local stations and national NPR, Car and Driver and various online outlets although I have not been able to find any posted stories. We believe we had one of the largest gatherings of EV's in the midwest, but others could prove us wrong.
Grand Rapids	Grand Rapids, MI	This was the first event at Grand Rapids, Michigan. We had good participation from drivers and attendees with many rides given.
Hastings	Hastings, MI	Bruce Westlake, President, Michigan Electric Vehicle Association, moderated a panel discussion of long-term EV enthusiasts and experts. An audience of 38 was on hand and engaged in a lively Q&A after the panel. Then everyone went out to the library parking lot, admired the cars, took rides, and drove a few.
Kalamazoo	Kalamazoo, MI	State representative Jon Hoadley, 60th district Michigan House of Representatives stopped by. We had a nice variety of vehicles among the nine, from Mitsubishi I-Miev to Tesla Model S. Easy access in and out to neighborhood streets. Live music!
Bemidji	Bemidji, MN	We held our EV Ride & Drive Event at our Cooperative headquarters, in the parking lot area where we have a DC Fast Charger and a Level 2 Charger. This is also located right next to our 80 kW community solar garden. We had our local television station, many people from the community along with about 10 EV owners with their vehicles. We had 3 Teslas, 3 Chevy Bolts, 2 Chevy Volts, a Nissan Leaf and a Toyota Highlander Hybrid. We provided some cookies and refreshments, along with information about EVs for interested persons. There were a lot of great conversations and a lot of excitement as a result of some of the test drives. We will definitely consider hosting this event again next year!
Bloomington	Bloomington, MN	Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, Bloomington MN Sept. 15, 2018 We had a beautiful day for our 1st annual EV Expo. We had dealer EV/PHEV cars for test drives and owner cars for inspection and conversation. We also had electric mowers, electric bikes and scooters, and a place for testing EV batteries. We gave 60 EV/PHEV test drives and 30 some electric bike test drives. We believe we had the largest collection of electric vehicles in one place in Minnesota history.... Teslas, Leafs, Bolts, Volts, Fusions, C-Max, Minis, Prius Plug ins, Outlanders, Pacificas, Tesla X, about 8 2015 Leafs and their owners. We had a series of EV talks in our sanctuary. Our youth gave car washes and raised a lot of money for their mission trips. Our deacons made popcorn and gave it away with water. And we dedicate our two level 2 chargers with a blessing and ribbon cutting. Several members of our Bloomington City Sustainability Commission were at the event.
Elk River	Elk River, MN	National Drive Electric Week at Elk River’s Farmers Market Over 120 curious area residents stopped by the Elk River Municipal Utilities and City of Elk River Electric Vehicle exhibit at the Farmers Market on September 13th. The event was part of the National Drive Electric Week celebration (September 8th – 16th). Area residents were able to talk with EV owners as well as Elk River Municipal Utilities and City staff and get firsthand information on what it’s like to own an electric vehicle. In addition to the Utilities Chevy Bolt and the Cities Mitsubishi Outlander area residents brought their vehicles to share. On display were Chevy Volts and Bolts, a Nisan Leaf, and a Zero SR motorcycle. In addition to general electric vehicle information curious residents learned about the opportunities that exist in the Elk River Municipal Utilities service area. There were many residents that were interested in the affordable rates offered by ERMU for charging electric vehicles during lower demand periods, rebates for the installation of an EV charging unit, and other incentives that are available to individuals purchasing an electric vehicle. There were also many questions on how public charging stations work. Currently ERMU has three public charging stations available. They are located at the downtown public parking lot on Main Street, at the fuel station at Coborn’s on Hwy 169, and in the parking lot of City Hall/ERMU on Orono Parkway. These public charging stations are available to any person that drives an electric vehicle and is in need of a little juice for the road.
Golden Valley	Golden Valley, MN	Sierra Club Minnesota North Star Chapter's 23rd annual Bike Tour highlighted clean transportation options. Ramsey	Ramsey, MN	This is the third year we have participated in the Ramsey Happy Days event and attendees at the EV display and ride & drive continues to grow. This is a 3 hour event followed by a parade of the exhibitors, include the electric vehicles. There are between 3,000 and 4,000 attendees at this event each year, so we expose electric vehicles to many people during our time there. New this year were the addition of an electric Zero motorcycle and an E-Go electric bike.
Blue Springs	Blue Springs, MO	The event had a much bigger turn out than last year although a lot of guests and organizations I had invited couldn't make it. The Sierra Club also had a small Rise for Climate rally at the event and spoke about EVs The Hyvee grocery store was kind enough to let us use part of their parking lot and still provides free charging!
St. Louis	St. Louis, MO	The St. Louis NDEW event had many different types of electric vehicles. Several members of the Carlyle IL NDEW event (held the previous day) attended. EV owners talked about their vehicles while several members of the Tesla group gave rides. The local electric company (Ameren MO) had a booth with information on their project to develop charging infrastructure in Missouri. It includes 40 "charging islands" along the interstates as well as workplace and multifamily charging rebates.
Hattiesburg	Hattiesburg, MS	We had thunderstorms during the event so it mostly moved to indoor conversations over coffee at Starbucks.
Asheville	Asheville, NC	This 5th Asheville Drive Electric event was our largest ever. We had around 60 EVs, from the Tesla Roadster to the BMW I8, the old and new Leaf, many model 3s, Xs, I3s, and even a converted pick-up truck, ATV and electric bicycles. Over 500 people attended the event, with around 150 rides given. There were many new EV owners with displays, who were just attendees last year! In addition, we were supplied power by a large solar array provided by Sundance Power Systems.
Carrboro	Carrboro, NC	We had a great turnout to the first National Drive Electric Week event in Carrboro. Piedmont Electric Membership Corporation and Plug-in NC organized the event. Three dealerships attended and brought vehicles to display and over 20 people brought their electric vehicles to display. It was exciting to see the enthusiasm and interest in electric driving.
Charlotte	Charlotte, NC	The 2018 National Drive Electric Week event was a great success. A special thanks to the City of Charlotte for partnering with the Centralina Clean Fuels Coalition as co-hosts this year. While Hurricane Florence approached, the weather held out to accommodate our audience of about 125. Everyone from members of the public strolling by to City of Charlotte department heads were able to come out and engage electric vehicle owners and transportation options table vendors. A special thanks to ChargePoint, who sponsored the first 55 free popsicles from King of Pops to attendees. The audience had electric vehicles to view, popsicles to munch on, a great band from the city as well as supported vendors from all aspects of sustainability and green transportation options. We had great diversity in the vehicle showings: the new 2018 Nissan LEAF, Fiat 500e, Chevy Volt, Teslas S and X, Chevy Spark EV, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, an electric utility car from Carolina Golf Cars, the Toyota Prius Prime and others. A big thanks to the greater Charlotte community for coming out to recognize that electric vehicles (and hybrids!) are an efficient form of transportation that can benefit not just owners, but communities as well through mobility management, a reduction in the use of petroleum and a cleaner environment!
Lenoir	Lenoir, NC	We had 4 vehicles, a Chevrolet Bolt EV, a Honda Clarity from a local dealership, a Tesla Model 3, and a Nissan Leaf on display. We had 3 members from a local EV club attend and help provide information about EVs to interested people. We tagged this EV showcase onto an existing open house at our district office in hopes to draw folks over to look at it.
Raleigh	Raleigh, NC	The event was a success given hurricane Florence's impact.
Winston Salem	Winston Salem, NC	We made this a two day event with a car show and driver meetup on Friday evening and a car show and tailgate tied to the Wake Forest University football home opener versus Towson State University on Saturday. For Friday evening, we had 10 owner vehicles and 13 dealer/OEM provided vehicles with a great variety of plug-in vehicles. Attendance was approximately 30 people and was mainly those who were EV owners and enthusiasts. There were approximately 12 vehicle test drives given to a few that were considering becoming a new owner, existing owner getting ready to switch vehicles and some just wanting to try something different for the experience. The NC Clean Energy Technology Center was the football game sponsor for Saturday which gave us tremendous exposure through pre-game promotion channels of social media, websites, radio and tv promotion. There was a 30 second video played (more than once) on the stadium media screen that included EVs and HEVs. In addition, during my pre-game radio interview NDEW was mentioned. There were a number of radio blurbs throughout the game promoting NDEW, EVs and PHEVs. Estimated participation in the pre-game car show was 1,500 people with 13 dealer/OEm provided vehicles. The official game attendance was 23,619. All in attendance were exposed to EVs through during game announcments and the 30 second video. I am not sure of radio listener audience or IMG TV audience, but it is likely that another 20,000 to 25,000 were reached through the event.
Fargo	Fargo, ND	The event was lead and sponsored by one of the local power companies, Cass County Electric Cooperative, and it's partners. Two food trucks with free food was provided by the sponsors, as well as the hosting location. People from rural areas attended thanks due to the power coop's sending out of 55,000 flyers to their service region customers, including farmers. People young and old attended, including many families, as well as people interested in "muscle cars." The local bike shop also stopped by with their electrical assist models. The regional American Lung Association also stopped by to provide rides in a Plug in Hybrid, in addition to free rides by the power coops on service vehicle the Chevy Bolt. Two local car dealers, Mitsubishi and Ford, and a vehicle or two each on display.
Lincoln	Lincoln, NE	A Lincoln City Council member was in attendance. Hy-Vee Supermarket provided the venue and featured a Tesla inside the store starting a week before the event. Besides the Nebraska Sierra Club there were two other co-sponsors - Nebraska Wildlife Federation and Nebraskans for Solar. A Tesla had a choreographed routine with flashing lights, doors opening and closing and music. The event this year more than quadrupled the number of EVs and attendance over previous years. We had overhead photos by drone.
Omaha	Omaha, NE	We had two elected officials. One is a City Councilman in Bellevue (an Omaha suburb) and one board member of Omaha Public Power District (OPPD). We have all public power in Nebraska). OPPD was at the event to promote their EV purchase incentive pilot program. One part of the incentive is $3000 off of the price of a LEAF. In addition to the display of 25 EVs including two electric bicycles, we had presentations about charging stations in Nebraska, updates on the VW Settlement and how to participate in the EV purchase incentive. One EV owner was passing through on his way to Arizona. We had media coverage from two TV stations and the Omaha World-Herald. Concord	Concord, NH	Great turnout. I think we had 17 different models of EVs present. NH Governor Chris Sununu proclaimed the week Drive Electric Week in NH.
Exeter	Exeter, NH	ELEX CARS/RECAP: "In Exeter this past Sunday at the Electric Vehicle Test-Drive Event, visiting Governor of Washington State, Jay Inslee, who has a strong stance on clean energy, takes a ride around the bandstand in one of the very first electric cars: Bart Bailey’s 1911 Phaeton. Over 25 local electric vehicle (EV) owners showcased their cars at the bandstand and nearby, including seven Teslas (models S,3,X). Folks from the greater Exeter area asked them questions about EV ownership and charging. A Telsa owner from East Kingston commented that she and her husband travel to dine, shop, and be entertained in towns that have downtown EV Charging Stations. She would like to come to Exeter often, but chooses Amesbury because of its support for EV drivers. Local dealerships provided test drives for many attendees in a Bolt provided by Amesbury Chevrolet, an i-3 provided by BMW of Stratham and a Clarity from Stratham Honda Barn. If you missed the event, you can go visit the dealerships directly for your own test drive. This event was co-hosted by Exeter’s Energy Committee and Exeter NH Transition Town in an effort to reduce tailpipe emissions in Exeter."
Keene	Keene, NH	Our first year for this event and a new nonprofit we didn't know what to expect - we were pleasantly surprised to have the city mayor declare NDEW at the council meeting on Sept. 6th. We had bikes as well as cars at the event which everyone loved and rode again and again. And, we had a climate scientist speak who was on a National Tour - Shahir Masri. We had other speakers who talked about EV ownership, infrastructure, and one had lots of know-how being an alternative transportation state leader in MA. Our cars ranged from the Bolt to Volvos and Cadillac. I did have trouble getting people to sign up as you see our event was larger than what is shown here. Help with that next year would be great. The highlights of the day were the test drives one owner gave in her Telsa S, the electric bikes, and the gelato vendor who came by to keep everyone cool in the hot sun!
New London	New London, NH	Our third annual Electric Vehicle Expo was probably the best-attended Drive Electric Week event in New England, with 42 electric vehicles and 400 participants. Vehicles present included Tesla Model 3, S and X; Chevy Bolt and Volt; Ford Fusion Energi; Honda Clarity; Nissan Leaf; Porsche Cayenne; Toyota Prius Prime and Zero Motorcycle. In addition, we had Pedego electric bicycles, an eGo self-propelled electric lawnmower, a 1923 Red Bug antique electric go-cart, and a 1976 Jeep CJ5 converted to run on golf-cart batteries. In the test-drive department, Tesla and Chevy reigned supreme, with two red Tesla Model 3's giving the most rides. Honda, Toyota, Zero and Pedego were represented by dealers, but the vast majority of the EVs present were brought by their enthusiastic owners who stood by their vehicles giving a 'show and tell' to Expo visitors. Highlights of the Expo included our speakers' program with five info-packed presentations by EV dealers and solar installers; our raffle with a grand prize of a Tesla Model S for Kids plus 10 more prizes donated by local merchants; and free food and beverages including plenty of home-baked goodies. Our State Senator, Ruth Ward, attended the presentations and expressed her support for renewable energy. Each Expo volunteer was given a bright green T-shirt, emblazoned with our logo and website, to wear at the event. We sold off surplus shirts to Expo visitors. Hopefully these shirts will be worn again, giving our event some year-round visibility. Many of the visitors who filled out our survey indicated that they are considering purchasing or leasing an EV. The future is promising indeed! We look forward to hosting another NDEW event in 2019.
Plymouth	Plymouth, NH	There was an abundance of electric vehicles at our event this year! Including a Tesla Model X that performed a dance for the crowd!
Andover	Andover, NJ	For second year in a row attendance was affected by poor weather. (Rain) We had three different models of Tesla. One owner had it programed to play music with synchronized lights and moving doors. Another Tesla owner demonstrated autonomous driving. Most of the vehicles were owned by residents in Sussex County. Last years crowd consisted of families who were curious. This year's crowd was interested in learning details of the vehicles and appeared to be interested in purchasing EV or Plug-In Hybrid in the future.
Bridgewater	Bridgewater, NJ	Unfortunately for the first time it rained this year which dampened things slightly. We had 22 owner EV's and around 200 people attend the event. Despite the rain we chatted with a lot of people. Nissan were there with Nissan LEAF's for test drives which was very successful. The local Chevrolet dealer was there and also gave test drives in a Volt and a Bolt.
Chatham	Chatham, NJ	The event when really well. It was hosted by the Chatham Borough Environmental Commission, and the success should make it an annual event. The NJ DEP also contacted us before the event to inquire about it, and stopped by for a little. I didn't keep an accurate count of the number of people who stopped by other than those that registered. I also had to leave the event for 60 to 90 minutes to coach my daughter's soccer game. But there were at least 10 EVs there and at least 2x the number of interested people stopped by for information about EVs, many of who seemed persuaded that an EV should at least be among the cars they look at when buying a new one. And I'm likely under estimating the number of non-owners who showed up. Our event was helped by the fact that it was part of the annual Chatham Borough Sustainability Fair and the weekly Farmer's Market, which both took place in the same parking lot. Sorry the photo couldn't be better. It was taken at the very end of the event. I was so busy talking to non-owners that taking a picture in the middle of the event totally slipped my mind.
Egg Harbor Township	Egg Harbor Township, NJ	Leaders from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), ChargEVC and EZ-EV as well as electric car owners, area dealerships and curious residents convened at the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) Environmental Park on Thursday, September 13, to discuss the latest in electric vehicle technology and incentives in New Jersey. The event was part of a countrywide celebration of electric vehicles known as “National Drive Electric Week.” Earlier in the week, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy officially recognized Drive Electric Week in New Jersey and noted the strong link between vehicle emissions and climate change. At the ACUA event, Andrea Friedman from the NJDEP shared information about the state’s new incentive program, which offers grants up to $6,000 per charging station for the purchase and installation of EV chargers at workplaces, public places and multi-family homes. Ashley-Lynn Chrzaszcz of ChargeEVC, a New Jersey coalition working to advance the adoption of electric vehicles, discussed their work to help develop the electric vehicle market in New Jersey. Michael Kurzeja, CEO of EZ-EV, an affiliate of Exelon/Atlantic City Electric, discussed his company’s efforts to make the driving electric experience as simple as a gasoline-powered vehicle. Guests participated in lively discussion about the technology and the need for legislation to push the sector forward in New Jersey. Area dealerships were on site to show off the latest electric car models, and Beacon Cycling offered test-drives of electric bicycles.
Vincentown	Vincentown, NJ	This year we had 50 EVs, 3 electric bicycles and an electric ZBoard. The Tesla Model 3 Performance was the newest star of the show. Mary from EMotorwerks showed off the Juice Box EVSE. The charging outlet that was installed previously got plenty of use as did the 2 temporary charging stations brought in for this event. Mt Holly Motorsports made lunch for everyone and any money collected was donated to Susan G Komen of Central and South Jersey. We had great music from our new pa system all day with a few “electric” songs mixed in. We used our new prize wheel to allow everyone who signed in a chance to spin the wheel and win a prize. 14 different people got to take a test ride on an electric Zero Motorcycle. An electric bicycle rider rode all the way to our event from Philly 25 miles away and everyone had a great time. This years event was bigger than last year and we are already looking forward to 2019!

Las Cruces	Las Cruces, NM	We gave a fairly technical presentation highlighting the advantages of electric cars. One person who attended was the sustainability director for the City of Las Cruces. Base on her input, we are planning a lobbying campaign to get the City to start adding electric cars to its fleet.
Taos	Taos, NM	Also included about 18 electric bicycles, three electric motorcycles, and several dealerships.
Las Vegas	Las Vegas, NV	National Drive Electric Week - Las Vegas was staged on Saturday, Sept. 8th, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Springs Preserve parking lot under a photovoltaic solar canopy that tracked the sun while providing electrons to four ChargePoint SAE J1772 AC Level 2 charging ports at that location. Over 45 plug-in electric vehicles were showcased during the event that drew approximately 200 visitors during the 4-hour event. Exhibit booths provided educational outreach about electric car issues.
Reno	Reno, NV	Involvement from Ned and fire department. They were very excited to intract with the vehicles to understand safety Aspects.
Canton	Canton, NY	We were thrilled so many showed up. We live in a very rural part of Northern NY, almost to the Canadian border---so NOT NYC! So getting 70 to come was incredible. I think advertising the two Teslas your site pulled in really helped. We paired this with 350.org's Rise for Climate event too. So at 9 am we had local officials from two local towns and our very conservative chair of our county legislature came and spoke about what they are doing to address climate change. Then we had 2/3 of our congressional candidates speak plus someone running for town office. Following that I did a power point on the coming EV revolution, we had a panel of EV owners and then outside for the grand finale---the EV show. MANY people came up and thanked me for doing this, and some indicated they were thinking EV for a future car. We had dealer incentives from four local dealers. Mort Backus Chevrolet, closest Chevy dealer, has refused to carry the Bolt and told me there was no place to buy it in NYS----and I told him where we could buy them and where HIS business is going. He had no idea he was sending business away! I MAY have made a dent with him, but they do carry the Volt (and offered an incentive) and Adirondack Chev carries the Bolt---within striking distance. Thanks for doing this----Sierra Club's Kat Fisher got us started being interested in this, and it's starting to ripple through our community now------even with our conservative county leg. chair. : )
Delmar	Delmar, NY	It was a perfect day for our NDEW event, the weather was great, the farmers market was buzzing, and our EV owners were busy talking to the public. In addition to the draws brought by a Model X with its wings up, we had lots of model 3's, a Zero motorcycle, and a Ryobi electric riding lawn mower. 2 dealerships came with enthusiastic sales guys happy to talk up the electric living, as they themselves drive electric. They were in and out throughout the day giving test drives to interested attendees. I dawned a dino costume (seen in the gallery) to entertained the kids, and drew farmer market patrons to the NDEW area. I am very happy how the event turned out, this was my first time being a city captain and will not be the last.
Kingston	Kingston, NY	Our local bike shop guy got lots of test ride of his electric bicycles which is AWESOME!!
Orchard Park	Orchard Park, NY	We had about 20 cars, an electric motorcycle vendor and a coffee food truck. The event was held at an electrician's union hall, with 3 EVSE's and bathrooms. The event was mentioned on a local TV morning show on the day of the event. Everything worked out well. First time I've hosted an event. Mike Scinta
Pleasantville	Pleasantville, NY	The Pleasantville NY 2018 Drive Electric event was an EV Showcase held inside Westchester County's Biggest and Most Popular Farmers Market. We surpassed our 2017 attendee numbers which was AWESOME! Only complaints were EVs drivers shut-out due to limited space for EVs. We were limited to displaying 5 EVs by Farmers Market, but we have massive turn-out, so I'm fine with it. We had about 10 Volunteers and a few special visitors (95th produced green Tesla Roadster, a few more Model 3's, and Bolts). - Tesla Model 3 - Tesla Model X - Chevy Bolt - Smart Electric - Ford Focus Electric Entering and Passing Through our EV Showcase Space was 1,905 (this does NOT count people leaving via our exit) Total Farmers Market Attendance for this Sat Sept 8th Event: 3,288
Poughkeepsie	Poughkeepsie, NY	A beautiful day at Marist College as local owners brought 25 electric vehicles to display at Poughkeepsie's Drive Electric event. The cars were arranged in a showcase, where the main thoroughfare had one of each model of EV so that perspective buyers could see all the options. The event kicked off at noon with owners talking with perspective buyers about their cars. At 1pm we started our series of talks, beginning with an Introduction to electric vehicles. At 1:30pm Tevin Grant of the electric school bus campaign spoke for half an hour about their efforts to convert New York City's school transportation to all electric. This was followed by a guide to the various federal and state rebates at 2pm, which went into depth about how the phase-out is working and what the difference between a credit, rebate and deduction was. Finally, at 2:30 there was a panel discussion about the environmental impacts of EVs, featuring a Marist professor of ecology and a local owner who is very involved in the environmental movement. Everyone had a great time, and we got many positive comments from folks who don't have an EV yet but were interested in driving electric.
Riverhead	Riverhead, NY	Warm temperatures in the low-80s and clear sunny skies helped make for a great day, as we celebrated our 7th Annual National Drive Electric Week event at the Tanger Outlets in Riverhead, NY on Sunday September 16. Approximately 250 people were on hand to see, sit in, ride/drive and to learn more about the 28 EVs & PHEVs brought to the event by proud vehicle owners, local dealerships, and our Long Island gas and electric utility. We had thirteen different models on display, which included 3 BMW I3s, 2 Chevy Bolts, 2 Chevy Volts, 2 Nissan Leafs, 2 Prius Primes, 2 Honda Clarities, 1 Kia Soul, 1 Fiat 500e, 1 Smart fortwo, 5 Tesla Model 3s, 2 Tesla Model X, 2 Tesla Model S and 1 Tesla Roadster. Five test drives/rides of the Clarity, Tesla Model S, Tesla Roadster, and Fiat 500e were given to potential future EV/PHEV owners.
Rochester	Rochester, NY	Our local sponsors/partners for the event included the New York State Electric Auto Association (NYSEAA), Greater Rochester Clean Cities (GRCC), Rochester EV Accelerator, and RIT. The Rochester EV Accelerator organization did a great job facilitating the 160 Ride and Drives. Funding for the site use including other expenses was provided by the Rochester EV Accelerator organization and Greater Rochester Clean Cities. Tupper Lake	Tupper Lake, NY	The Wild Center hosted 6 electric vehicles on site. There was a hands on renewable energy activity along side the car for children to do. Test drives were given and we had a presentation about the economics and efficiencies of driving electric in our region.
Utica	Utica, NY	This was a great first event in Utica. We hosted the event at Utica's new charging station at City Hall and the event doubled as a ribbon cutting event for the station. Mayor Robert M. Palmieri dropped by to say a few words, and later WKTV Utica stopped in to get footage of the event (http://www.wktv.com/content/news/City-of-Utica-promotes-charging-station-at-city-hall-493401871.html). We also planned this event the same day as a benefit concert occuring directly behind the NDEW event site, which helped to engage other community members that weren't already aware of our NDEW event. Overall, this was a great event and a good way to show Utica that EVs are going to be a part of the community's future.
Akron	Akron, OH	Great mix of makes and models with lesser known vehicles like the Fisker Karma, Mistubishi iMIEV, and eGolf. Overall good collection of Model 3s (including a brand new Performance), Model S, Model X, eGolf, Sonata PlugIn, Outlander PHEV, Ford Focus FFE, Volt, FIAT 500e, iMIEV, Bolt, and i3.
Cincinnati	Cincinnati, OH	We had hopes for a great turnout, but we head terrible weather. It rained hard most of the event, and the turnout was small. Our location was good, in an empty parking lot near a busy intersection in a popular shopping area, near a major interstate, which worked very well last year. Last year we had people riding Segways and electric bicycles near the road, which was a big draw. This year, they had to cancel because of the weather. We almost cancelled and rescheduled for the second weekend, but people kept signing up after midnight the night before. It was a tough decision to make. We still had a good time with those who braved the weather. In retrospect, it would have been better to cancel, and have it the second weekend, which turned out to have much better weather. Lesson learned. Next year we will schedule for the first Saturday, and clearly state upfront that we will reschedule to the second Saturday if the weather is bad. We had a lot of Tesla Model 3 cars registered, and anticipate more next year. The local Tesla store is currently delivering about 30 a day to new owners. We did much better figuring out how to use social media this year. But we are still having a hard time with getting the local press and TV stations to respond to our email requests to attend, or to give us coverage leading up to and and at the event.
Cleveland Heights	Cleveland Heights, OH	Held in conjunction with the "Heights Music Hop" event, we had ten different battery electric and plug-in electric vehicles: Honda Clarity, Outlander PHEV, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model S, Tesla Model X, Chevy Bolt, Chevy Volt, Ford Focus FFE, Nissan LEAF, Prius PLugIn, and FIAT 500e. One EV owner was simply driving by and joined in. Between the attendees and the vehicles driving by (we had a highly visible site on a major roadway) we easily had more than 1,000 impressions.
Columbus	Columbus, OH	We had about 125 people attend the event total ranging from registered attendees to people wondering in from signs posted to college students assigned by their professor to attend a local event (we were on the list). We had 5 vehicles in our official tailgate plus one dealer Leaf giving Ride and Drives and then another 30 or so EVs parked outside of the lot at our venue. We invited other businesses to participate so beyond our Drive Electric Columbus/Clean Fuels Ohio table, we also had tables filled with information from Lime (electric scooters, including one to ride), Smart Columbus, AEP, and Buckeye Nissan (who brought 2 new Leafs, one wrapped for showcase and one for the Ride and Drive). We also had a local comic artist who drew caricatures for the evening which was a big hit and she was even willing to draw their EVs.
Hilliard	Hilliard, OH	We had one dealer bring one vehicle for showcase and 23 owners bring their EV/PHEV to the EV Tailgate. We had 3 owners take people on rides throughout the day. We had a raffle for kids for a remote control toy car and a newsletter registration raffle sponsored by AAA for adults. We had about 60 people attend the event. A special highlight we featured was The Ohio State University EcoCar and team attended our event. It was a very popular display.
Lakewood	Lakewood, OH	Despite the solid rain during the entire event, at least 16 vehicles representing ten different models along with 50 or more attendees shared stories and rides through Lakewood Park. Joined by City Council Member Tom Bullock, the group of EV drivers, both new and familiar faces, included brand new (one picked up his car just 5 days prior) and long-time EV enthusiasts.
Oakwood	Oakwood, OH	Despite the rain (luckily light), turnout was good on Sunday, September 9th. Twenty or so EVs, thirtyish visitors, lots of conversations, multiple rides and drives, and many EV passions hepped up. The Plug In America brochures were especially well received. Tim reports a lot of interest in the Model 3 from event attendees. Sparky was the only EV in the show. In fact there was a continuous stream of visitors talking to Tim, asking questions, looking at, and in many cases, sitting in the car. Tim handed out his Drive Electric Dayton business card and Model 3 Specification sheet to many folks who were interested in EVs and in joining Drive Electric Dayton, part of non-profit Clean Fuels Ohio/Drive Electric Ohio. Most visitors remarked on how beautiful, functional and minimalistic the Model 3 design was, on the amazing technology and fit and finish. They seemed to be impressed with the range, acceleration, internal space in the cabin and trunks, and in the remarkably low cost of charging, both at home and at Superchargers. Tim regaled them with details of recent very easy and cheap trips to Indianapolis and Cleveland. His bill from Tesla for Supercharging on the round trip to Cleveland from Dayton was just over $10.
Perrysburg	Perrysburg, OH	Northwest Ohio's fifth annual Ride and Drive event was completed Saturday, September 08 with the help of many dedicated EV owners and event organizer Electric Auto Association of Northwest Ohio. The Town Center at Levis Commons once again served as beautiful and busy background for this year's event. There were nineteen registered vehicles, and plenty of enthusiasm shared between the owners who proudly displayed their vehicles. All shared stories of their experience owning a plug-in vehicle. Mother Nature had a lot of fun at this year's event. Although the forecast was sixty-eight degrees and no rain unit 7:00pm, she showed her humor by opening the clouds a little after 12:00 noon. Rain persisted throughout the remaining four hours of the event. EV owners and visitors huddled under umbrellas, under awnings, and took time to visit the shops and restaurants to hide from the raindrops. Tentative plans are for the 2019 event at the same location, and serious discussion will soon commence regarding setup of a "circus tent" to offer shelter for next year. Oklahoma City	Oklahoma City, OK	Our event was held on Saturday, September 8th at the Wheeler District in Oklahoma City. The Wheeler District is an area of Oklahoma City that has been redeveloped in the past few years and is now home to a Ferris Wheel. We had approximate 30 EV's at the event and 5 to 6 dealerships were represented. We had two charging station representatives on hand to talk about EV charging. We also GPS Insight, a telematics company, that was on hand to provide information to fleets about their product. We also had Bike One on hand with a number of different EV bikes for test rides. A taco truck and Kona Ice also participated in the event.
Tulsa	Tulsa, OK	This was our largest NDEW event to date, the first collaboration of Tulsa Clean Cities and our local Sierra Club, and our first attempt at a stand-alone event. The event was well attended by EV owners with 23 on display!
Bend	Bend, OR	Held at a local park we had a mix of owners and the EV's, visitors, and 2 dealers that brought cars specifically for test drives.
Eugene	Eugene, OR	Highlight was the BRING tour ending there and having an afterparty. Political rep visit from Rep. Nancy Nathanson and Sonya Carlson, EWEB commissioner.
Lincoln City	Lincoln City, OR	National Drive Electric Week, Lincoln City style, wrapped on the afternoon of September 15. Cruisin’ the Bay Car Show again welcomed us with space in their classic car show. We had 13 beautiful EVs, knowledgeable owners/dealers, and several family members. The rain held off for a grand day of everything EV. Tim Mangin joined us from silver-level sponsor Clipper Creek. He was able to field many questions about EV charging and show off a charging unit. Demand for drive and rides was high. We estimated over 30 drivers and 6 carloads of riders took advantage of the EV experience. We had the best variety and the biggest lineup of cars ever for our National Drive Electric Week event. Aaron and his Tesla Model X pulled into the middle of the classic car show during the band break and ran the Christmas 2016 Easter Egg coordinated to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s rendition of “Wizards in Winter.” We appreciated the extra exposure and letting the Model X show off. Thanks to Scott, Bay Area Merchants Association, and the committee from Cruisin’ the Bay Car Show for giving us a place to showcase electric cars over the last five years. We love working with these folks and being the “wave of the future” in their car show. State Representative David Gomberg dropped by. He often checks in with the EV group at local events and made efforts to discourage ICEing at local charging stations. A big shout out to our local sponsors who make it possible to attract an outstanding display of electric cars: Oregon Beach Vacations, Central Lincoln PUD, and Oregon Electric Vehicle Association. We could not do this event without them. Local dealers Newport Toyota and Sunwest Honda brought cars and participated for the first time this year as did Arcimoto from Eugene. Steve’s Arcimoto FUV won the Alternative Fuel Vehicle award this year for Cruisin’ the Bay Car Show.
Sunriver	Sunriver, OR	We were very pleased with the number of vehicles that we had at our event. We were told that it was more than Bend had last year - matching what a much bigger city had in our first year was a nice accomplishment. We had a few people stop in after they saw the signs or the gathering in the parking lot, but most saw it on our Facebook. Next year we could probably do an even better job advertising it.
Wilsonville	Wilsonville, OR	We had another strong showing in Wilsonville this year. The PGE Electric Test Drive with free entries into the OEVA raffle for $5K generated a lot of interest and got people test driving a wide variety of vehicles. Wilsonville Mayor Tim Knapp spoke to the crowd for a few minutes before reaching into the drum to draw the winning ticket. The lucky winners were Clayre and Marc Thompson, and the $5K is being applied towards a pre-owned Nissan LEAF. Congratulations and glad we could help get you into your first EV! Another highlight was the Jaguar I-Pace prototype on display. Though not available for test drives, people were able to get a first hand look. The Oregon EV Rebate overview session with the Q&A following was well attended. Though no rebates have yet been issued, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Test drives were provided by Tonkin Nissan (2018 LEAF), Wilsonville Chevrolet (Bolt EV and Volt), Wilsonville Honda (Clarity PHEV), FORTH (Clarity Electric), BMW Portland (i3), Beaverton Kia (Niro Plug-in), Mini of Portland (Countryman PHEV), Gladstone Mitsubishi (Outlander PHEV) and Wilsonville Chrysler Jeep Ram (Pacifica Hybrid). Wilsonville Audi had an A3 e tron on display and Wilsonville Toyota provided a Prius Prime. We worked to highlight the affordability of used vehicles, with Platt Auto providing test drives on pre-owned vehicles like the Nissan LEAF, Kia Soul EV, and Chevrolet Spark EV. The ability to use the "Charge Ahead" Oregon rebate on those pre-owned vehicles drew plenty of interest. We also had a very strong owner turnout, with a wide variety of models on display. Ride and drives were offered by some owners, and a few attendees were able to take a short test drive in a Model 3! Allentown	Allentown, PA	Despite being one of the coldest and rainiest days of the season we had an impressive turnout. EV owners are passionate and resilient and will do whatever it takes to share their knowledge and experiences driving electric. Many great conversations took place educating non-EV owners about charging, driving fun, cost savings etc. We had great representation from Tesla owners with Model S, X and 3. We also had a unique and rare opportunity to have a prototype Jaguar I-PACE at our event. Not only was it on display, but was available for test drives. 18 of the 40+ test drives given were in the I-PACE. Many other makes and models of BEV and PHEV vehicles were present providing a well-rounded event. We also had a few visitors show up with their EV’s from seeing our signs and flags. Thanks to Immaculate Paint Protection LLC., one lucky Tesla owner won the $500 raffle towards a paint protection package. This was the first year the Lehigh Valley participated in a NDEW event, but this definitely won’t be our last! Interest in EV’s is strong and we look forward to having future events.
Ambler	Ambler, PA	Ambler Mayor Jeanne Sorg came out to see what all the talk was about, and she was happy to see over 50 Electric Vehicles parked between Weavers Way Co-Op and Ambler Beverage Exchange. Representatives from Penn Environmental were on hand to explain how pending EPA clean car ruling will damage the health of millions of Americans, while giving a free ride to the lazy big three USA auto makers and fossil fuels industry. Each owner had her or his own personal story to tell; most active in doing their part to save a livable biosphere. Rick Denzien, organizer of the event, is a Zero Emission Musician driving 90,000+ (one 7th of all 50 EVs at the show) gasless miles since 2013 reported that he has given 4,600 rides between his two Nissan Leaf vehicles, and now 33 in his 2018 Tesla Model 3. "MPG requirements should be going up not down", he says, "Allowing the antiquated 1800's technology that is ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) cars to be on the road, in an insult to inventive engineers everywhere, anti people and morally irresponsible." Rowan Energy Integration visionary Dennis Rowan said, "ICE is like going back analog phones, which is ridiculous. How about going back to a 300 baud dial-up modem instead of fiber optics at a thousand meg a second? That is how bad ICE is. Only 16 - 20% efficient, thousands of parts, any one of which will cost the consumer thousands to fix. ICE is dirty, polluting, costs more money to operate and maintain, and that is just the upside". Cranberry Township	Cranberry Township, PA	This was our fifth show, and by far the best one so far. Contributing to our success was our new location in the Cranberry Square shopping center along the access road to major big box stores. We enjoyed a constant flow of visitors to the show, and the EV owners were continually occupied in conversations. There was a sense of companionship among the owners sharing in a common experience. There was a good representation of makes and models. Tesla S, X and 3, Ford Fusion and Focus, Chevy Volt, and Bolt, Nissan Leaf, Cadillac ELR, Mitsubishi iMEV, and perhaps the hit of the show, Cheryl Bejgrowicz, brought her Honda Clarity PHEV. Disappointing was the lack of participation from Dealers and Manufacturers. With the exception of Kenny Ross, the local Nissan Dealer, and Honda North that supplied a Clarity PHEV , none of the other invited dealers made an appearance, even though some of them made a commitments to bringing a vehicle.
Erie	Erie, PA	The day was great, sunny, 82 degrees, and windy. Rain would have caused us to cancel. We only had the site for one day, so set-up started at 9am, and we were ready to open at noon. About 9 show cars had already arrived, as well as some visitors. The day went well for the first three hours, then the crowd thinned out. The Erie Mayor Joe Schemer and Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper spoke to the audience briefly, then Barbara Potts gave them a demonstration ride in her Tesla Model X. The exhibit tables were largely ignored, it was the cars and owners that were the big hits. Two of our TV stations were there to film the cars and they interviewed the team captains. The 10 and 11 o'clock news reports carried the interviews, and the two 'dancing' Model X's to the music of the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Ice water and Lemonade were a big hit. Four touring Tesla's stopped for a quick charge, and joined right in answering questions from the crowd. All told we had 14 Plug-in's to show visitors. Our solar panels powered the sound system, which played music all during the show, except for announcements every 15 minutes to give away free-bies to the ticket winners. We only had one $250 Contributing Sponsor, which covered our only real cost... $250 for liability insurance. Al the other costs we covered by volunteer donations out of their pockets and volunteer printing.
Pittsburgh	Pittsburgh, PA	We all had a great time, despite some rain. Good visibility as we were on a busy street - some EV drivers pulled in to see what what going on and to connect with other drivers. There was a lot of time spent huddled under a canopy - which produced some sparkling conversation about electrified driving. Even with Mother Nature throwing us a curve, the attendees were very hardy, and I thank them for stopping by!
Pittsburgh	Pittsburgh, PA	On Sept. 12, Duquesne Light, in partnership with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, sponsored a NDEW event in downtown Pittsburgh’s Market Square. The event featured local dignitaries and dozens of EV supporters and vendors that are working alongside DLC to make vehicle electrification an important part of Pittsburgh’s energy future. Nearly 15 different vehicle models, including compact, full-size sedan and SUVs, were on display . Attendees had the opportunity to ride in and test drive EVs as well as take a ride on eBikes, eBoards and eScooters that were at the event. A highlight of the event was DLC’s announcement that it would be partnering with the Pittsburgh Parking Authority in the installation of eight new charging stations in downtown garages. In addition to reaching passersby, nearly 3.5 million total impressions were obtained via traditional and social media. Highlights include pickup in the Pittsburgh Business Times, the Trib Live, a Tweet from Pittsburgh's Mayor Peduto.
State College	State College, PA	Although the weather was less than ideal with rain and cold it was still a wonderful day to celebrate driving electric. We had a few snacks, lots of great giveaways and many visitors. We had a political candidate stop to check things out.
Burrillville	Burrillville, RI	On Saturday, September 8th we held Rhode Island's 5th annual National Drive Electric Week event at the Pascoag Green Festival in Burrillville, RI. The event was a partnership between the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources, the Town of Burrillville, Pascoag Utility District, Rhode Island Department of Health, and Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management. Participating vendors included Green Energy Consumers Alliance, Inskip BMW of Warwick, and Central Mitsubishi of Raynham. The 13th annual Green Festival featured a variety of activities for the whole family, including face painting, crafts, music, and bucket truck rides. Adults were able to learn about various methods of conservation from green vendors that participated in the festival. In addition, there was a farmers market on site selling local produce and goods, as well as a food truck. This year we had a wide variety of display and test vehicles on hand. For the first time, Mitsubishi attended with an Outlander PHEV SUV. BMW brought three vehicles for test drives: an i3 REX and two 530e PHEVs. Other vehicles included a Tesla Model 3 (a first for RI NDEW!), Tesla Model S, Chevrolet Bolt, and Volkswagen e-Golf. People who participated in test drives were encouraged to fill out a survey before and after their experience to gauge their awareness and interest level regarding plug in vehicles. Overall, the event was very well received by all who attended.
Cumberland	Cumberland, RI	Special thanks to Grieco Honda Johnston RI, Toyota of Smithfield RI, Tasca Chevrolet of Woonsocket RI, Tasca Chrysler of Johnston RI and First Hyundai of North Attleboro MA for providing vehicles for this EVent.
Providence	Providence, RI	Green Energy Consumers Alliance’s event took place at the Dalrymple Boathouse in Roger Williams Park in Providence, Rhode Island on Sunday, September 16 from 12:00pm – 4:00pm. We had a ride and drive around the park, a band and games for entertainment, plus free food for attendees via a food truck. Our vendors included Resource Recovery of Rhode Island, SustainPVD (the Sustainability Office for the City of Providence), and the Office of Energy Resources. The event was very successful and had approximately 125 attendees with 52 of those people participating in test drives. The ride and drive was very successful. We had ten cars attend the event. These cars included three Teslas, one Chevy Bolt and one Volt, one BMW i8, two Prius Primes, one Nissan Leaf and a Mini Cooper Countryman. Not all of these vehicles were available to test drive as some were personal vehicles, but people enjoyed learning about and looking at them. Attendees were engaged, excited, and eager to test drive. There were even points where we had a bit of a queue to register attendees for test drives. While the majority of my team’s time was spent registering attendees for their test drives, all other time was spent educating people about electric vehicles and the benefits of owning/leasing one. Attendees appreciated having multiple makes and models of electric vehicles all in one place for comparison and exposure. It seems prudent to point out that while people filled out the pre-test drive survey, not very many came back to do the post-test drive survey. This is something my team made note of and tried to rectify, but were unable to get everyone back to the registration booth. I would also like to mention that many attendees complained that the survey was too long. In fact, filling out the survey was part of the reason we became backed up when registering attendees for test drives. Overall, this was a great National Drive Electric Week event that we would like to repeat annually.
Aiken	Aiken, SC	Tesla Model X90 model scale 1:32 giveaway at the at Cafe Scientifique Aiken’s Third annual Electric Vehicle Show. We all but cancelled the show due to the weather but some die hard electric vehicle owners and enthusiasts showed up despite the weather. We had four Teslas, one leaf and a Kia on site. When the rain started, we had the drawing and went to the science cafe for snacks and discussions. Most of the electric vehicle owners talked about how they have incorporated solar panels for charging their homes and cars. The Science Cafe looks forward to an active fall programming schedule. Rapid City	Rapid City, SD	We had much more enthusiasm for this event here at the Farmer's Market in Rapid City, SD compared to last year (which was our first). The automotive dealers were more involved and brought some new EV's, plus we had several individual owners, all of whom were quite enthusiastic about being able to personally share the benefits of their EV. We had a total of 9 plug-in EVs, including a Nissan Leaf, a Mitsubishi Outlander, a Chrysler Pacifica, a Prius, two Honda's (Clarity & Insight), two Volts, and a rare all electric Toyota RAV. A really cool thing was that we also set up a solar trailer near the cars to charge them! In addition, we worked with the Rapid City Sustainability Committee to host a follow-on event at the nearby Fairgrounds that included presentation about EV's and a panel discussion and a Q&A session that was attended by about 30 people. It was gratifying to learn about their efforts to get more charging stations installed throughout the city.
Chattanooga	Chattanooga, TN	I think the event went very well even though we did have some whether issues. It would be better for events in the south to be later in the year because we had temperatures in the high eighties. We also had to shut down early because of a thunder shower. We did have the city mayor come and talk and present us with a city proclamation. Our venue at the Chattanooga Choo Choo, which is a historic site in the city, is a great place to attract visitors. We got permission from the city to close Station Street to hold the event. We could not offer rides because the street was closed which restricted vehicles leaving during the event. However, our vehicle owners were very busy showing visitors their electric cars and answering questions. Also, thanks for the educational flyers that we distributed to visitors. I feel our goal to educate the general public about electric transportation alternatives was very successful.
Knoxville	Knoxville, TN	This event is static (we can't give Ride and Drives) but we know that and provide the education that we can while we are there. It provides us a large captive audience in fans coming to see the football game. We had many conversations with football fans, students and others about EVs, about the UTK EcoCAR3 program, and about EV charging in and around campus.
Memphis	Memphis, TN	The Mid-South EV Club's participation in the 'National Drive Electric Week' was a great success. in spite of the heavy rains; several EV owners brought their cars, and shared their stories. We had a great time catching up and hanging out. I'm a horrible picture taker. Also, my phone died after snapping the 3rd photo. Corpus Christi	Corpus Christi, TX	We had a woman running for city office attend. 2 extra Model 3s showed up for a total of 4. The Model 3s seem to be taking over but we had a Volvo SUV and well as a plug in minivan so there was a good number of different vehicles for people to look at. We all got rained on but stuck it out until the end. Hoping next year is later in Sept. Because of the heat but the rain helped out this year.
Grapevine	Grapevine, TX	Our North Texas event was held for the 4th consecutive year at the Grapevine Mills Mall. We had a great turnout despite the fact it poured down rain for the entire day. Our official count was 169 EVs which we consider a victory because of the weather. Roads were closed due to rain near our event and even with all of those issues, we still had our highest EV count to date. We would have surely hit over 200 cars if the weather held off. Several OEMs were present during our event with booth space including Chevrolet, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Toyota, and Jaguar (with a prototype I-Pace). Local non-profits were in attendance educating attendees about solar, green energy, and recycling.

Murray	Murray, UT	We had Food and $4000 in Prize Giveaways. DJ Jake from High Rise Audio spun the music. We had Spencer Hall from Rocky Mountain Power tell us all about the Utah EV Corridor. Tammy Bostick Cooper told us all about the EV Plans for the city via Utah Clean Energy. John Loveless from John Saves Energy talked about living with an EV. Carl Moore of SLC Air Protectors had an awesome Ritual to open the show. Shout out to Brooke Finlinson, Scott Stoddard, Eleanor Thompson and Jett Fesler for helping me out so much! Arlington	Arlington, VA	We had a really great turnout for our 2nd Annual National Drive Electric Week event, both with registered vehicles and attendees. We had 27 vehicles registered on our event webpage (18 of which were showcased today), and about 100 attendees. Our event was picked up through 29 different media sources (social media, news, local blogs, forums, and association sites). Our event date was scheduled the same day as another well-known local NDEW event -- located in Purcellville, VA -- so we had many of those attendees split their time between venues. Our team of 3 staff was able to pass on much of the Plug-In America flyers and informational handouts to our organic market customers, many of which are already EV or hybrid vehicle owners. Our team vote for favorite attendee EVs would be: the 2015 Tesla S with the Nikola Tesla hood artwork, and the 2013 Fiat 500e. We had a really great time, the attendees really enjoyed themselves as they connected via their EVs, and the other customer attendees were engaged, curious and thrilled to see what the EV world was showcasing -- on 2 and 4 wheels! MOM's Organic Market was proud to be a part of 2018 National Drive Electric Week, and we look forward to collaborating for next year's event! Blacksburg	Blacksburg, VA	1 Tesla Model S RWD 2013 1 Tesla Model S AWD 2017 1 Tesla Model 3 Long Range RWD 2 Chevrolet Bolt EVs (2017 & 2018) 1 2018 Nissan LEAF SV 1 Toyota Prius Prime 2017 1 Chevrolet Volt 2017 1 Chevrolet Spark EV We concentrated on BEVs with range over 150 miles. That range is necessary for often round trips from Blacksburg VA to Roanoke VA (90 miles) being comfortable. The estimated 30 people who came to view the cars and talk to the owners showed high interest in the BEVs, asking many questions.
Danville	Danville, VA	No volunteer hours were used because salaried employees were the workers. Our event had our mayor and two city council members attend. One location television news station attended, and the two local newspapers came. We installed a new charger for the event, and had people spin a wheel to win prizes from Nissan, Virginia International Raceway, and from Danville Utilities. Everyone spoke highly of the event.
Hampton	Hampton, VA	Overall, we had a great event! We had 10 vehicles, 3 Tesla Model S's, 3 Tesla Model 3's, 1 Honda Clarity, 1 Nissan Leaf, 1 Fiat 500 E and a Zero Electric Motorcycle. Combined we traveled more than 150,000 electric miles and we had attendees from as far away as Fredericksburg, Richmond, Williamsburg, Norfolk and Virginia Beach. Unfortunately, weather did have an effect on our event. There was a 90% chance of thunderstorms forecasted all week and even on the day of our event which I'm sure kept many people away. Thankfully, the weather did hold out until the end of our event. Because there is a future event in Virginia Beach, we were able to pass along our leftover marketing materials to that event and reduce our overall footprint and budget required to host multiple events in our region. A great time was had by all and dozens of people learned more about driving electric across our community!
Richmond	Richmond, VA	Our kick-off event for Richmond’s fifth annual celebration of NDEW was a success. The EV display was at the entrance to the Dorey Park Farmers Market, helping us draw more than 70 visitors throughout the event. The highlight was the unscheduled appearance of a Tesla Model X, with car seats in the back to show how an all-electric car can meet the needs of a growing family. Other cars on display included a Zero Motorcycle, Nissan LEAF, Chevy Bolt, and Tesla Model 3, whose owners came all the way from North Carolina to attend their fifth NDEW event in Richmond.
Waynesboro	Waynesboro, VA	Waynesboro's first Drive Electric event! Despite poor weather, we had a strong showing with 11 EV's coming by. Early on had various sightseers looking over the cars and enjoying ice cream. As the rain came in, hoods went down, conversations moved indoors for a bit. As things dried up again had another round of test rides and fun. We'll do it again and hope for sun!
Burlington	Burlington, VT	Although not a participant in our event on 9/15, Vermont Governor Phil Scott launched an EV charging grant program during Drive Electric Week on Tuesday, 9/11 - http://governor.vermont.gov/press-release/governor-phil-scott-announces-24-million-grants-electric-vehicle-charging-stations We enjoyed seeing many returning volunteers from past Drive Electric Week events proudly displaying their EVs and some new participants too. The Tesla Model 3 was especially exciting and was busy the entire event.
Anacortes	Anacortes, WA	Our first Anacortes event took place on a gloomy day with frequent rain showers, which cut down on the foot traffic. Despite the weather, we had enthusiastic owners and interested folks who came by to look and talk. One of our city councilmen came by - he will be picking up his new Tesla Model 3 in a few days. A lot was learned on this maiden event, I'm hoping it will be bigger and better next year.
Bellevue	Bellevue, WA	Despite Weather.GOV's Monday forecast for lightning and thunderstorms right in the middle of our Tuesday event hours, over two-thirds of the event's pre-registered, intrepid northwesterners ignored the predicted bad weather. They showed up to celebrate their plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) driving experiences as well as share them with the general public at Bellevue's fabulous Downtown Park. In true local weather fashion, the day turned out to be mostly sunny in the comfortable high sixties. The park, "Bellevue's front lawn," was filled with activity. The pleasant weather encouraged many unsuspecting park users to become celebration drop-ins and learn about PEVs. Those who pre-registered represented over 3/4 million miles of PEV driving experience, 225 metric tons of CO2 NOT created in the past and 190 metric tons of CO2 which will NOT be created annually going forward into the future. At the event, there were eleven Tesla PEVs representing all models including one original roadster and a half dozen Model 3s. There were also 4 each of Chevrolet Bolts and Nissan LEAFs including 2 of the newly redesigned 2018 LEAFs. Also of note: A youthful first-time car buyer, Andrew Munsell, displayed his brand new, mineral gray, 2018 BMW I3 REx. Andrew mentioned that he had been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to acquire his first-ever car which he wanted for a long time to be a plug-in electric. Yea youth! Jay Hamlin brought his crowd pleasing, beautifully restored, and now electrified 1964 VW bug. The Seattle Electric Vehicle Association held its regular monthly meeting at City Hall imediately following the celebration in the park. Several local elected officials attended the celebration. Bellevue Mayor John Chelminiak spoke about the city's support for PEVs and its National Drive Electric Week proclamation. Bellevue City Councilmember Janice Zahn and Mercer Island City Councilmember Wendy Weicker were also in attendance.
Bellevue	Bellevue, WA	Four year-old Sophia, Woodcreek's youngest plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) owner/driver, made a surprise appearance at our National Drive Electric Week Celebration. She arrived to everyone's delight in her sleek black all-electric Rollplay "Audi" R8 Spyder. Sophia knew all about her PEV inside and out. It is heartening to think that she will only be using ZEVs during her entire lifetime. Her dad, a Woodcreek homeowner, drives a 2018 Nissan LEAF. Neighbors from all around the Woodcreek HOA's 150 townhome complex along with a couple of house-guests visiting from Germany stopped by to talk with their neighbors who are already driving PEVs. Interest in PEVs was high as evidenced by the fact that people kept on talking out in the open even though the weather was cool and drizzling on and off during the 2-hour celebration. In Washington, we call drizzle, "Oregon sunshine." Attendees were also treated to test rides in a bright red, 2018 Tesla Model 3. They were also able to experience test drives on a Lime bike-share system's electric bicycle. Both of these PEVs impressed the neighbors. As a result of today's event, we were able to determine that residents are now driving six PEVs (not including Sophia's). This represents 3% of Woodcreek's households. There are currently four LEAFs, 3 of which are 2018s; a 2017 Bolt and one PEV conversion. Eight years ago, there was only the conversion. Several neighbors went away saying that their next car would be a PEV now that they have learned how practical they actually are. Pat Colson, HOA President, was pleased with the event, not only because PEVs are the future, but the celebration provided an opportunity for neighbors to informally socialize with one another.
Friday Harbor	Friday Harbor, WA	September in Weatern Washington gets really rainy. We still had about 250 people attend the event, however I think we could have had much more if we would have had more cooperative weather.
Issaquah	Issaquah, WA	We had a very good turn out considering that it rained a lot off and on. We had good burger sales which is a measure of the public attendance. We did good outreach and had a chance between showers to take photos and send them to the owners email. We then ask them if they wanted to be invited by email to our next EV shows. I want to thank Virginia Winslow for the idea of the photos to document the cars and owners and as a give back of the photosto this same owners for their attendance. Great to have the nDEW web pages for teaching others how to do a great WV show. Keep up the great work and thanks to Tom S for how care in web management and the City Capt.
Kennewick	Kennewick, WA	Several city and PUD employees showed up.
Liberty Lake	Liberty Lake, WA	This was the best event ever, the number of participants was great and EV driver's came across state to participate. Many rides took place and several leads where developed for the dealers to follow. Many participants even offered not just rides but also driving of their personal EV's. I promoted this event early 2017 and it became the second larges event in the state of Washington. Our Governor Jay Inslee, was invited and he was considering the drive across state to join us however he had to decline, other pressing issues came up. That being said, promotions has gone out to many groups including all local politician and candidates etc. City council member Dan Dunne did participate and will continue to represent us at City of Liberty Lake. Beside the National sponsors I like to honor our local sponsors. Spokane Transit Authority (providing the parking lot), Liberty Lake Farmers Market, City of Liberty Lake, Avista Utility (Lunch) and Solar Acres Farm (Coffee and Donuts). Richland	Richland, WA	Lots of walk-in public because of library location. No politicians or officials. Sorry, no photos this year. Actually, much less interest than previous years. It looks like most people interested in EVs in this area have already seen enough.
Vancouver	Vancouver, WA	We had a fantastic EV show at the 15th Annual Peace and Justice Fair. Combining with this fair (and nearby farmers market) keeps our EV numbers to around 25 but gives us a beautiful venue and a multitude of fair-goers who are interested in creating a better world. What could be a better? How about a gorgeous September day!? EV owners enjoyed a steady stream of interested fair-goers, camaraderie with other owners, a walk around the popular fair which included live music, and the bonus of delicious food available at the farmers market. A great diversity of vehicles registered including the all-new, three-wheeled Arcimoto FUV (a crowd favorite) which is made in nearby Eugene. We had both small cars like the Fiat 500e and Chevy Spark to larger EVs like the Chrysler Pacifica and Tesla model X (another favorite). From the first model Leaf to shiny new Teslas -- that's the way it should be! I can't thank our dedicated EV owners enough for coming out to share their time, vehicles, and enthusiasm with everyone. We hated to see the party end -- see you next year!
Walla Walla	Walla Walla, WA	Our event was held in conjunction with Wheelin' Walla Walla Weekend's Saturday Show-n-Shine. With over 400 cars participating in that event, we had excellent exposure to a wide regional audience of vehicle enthusiasts. Our EV event was on Third Ave (Electric Avenue for the day), adjacent to Main St (eight blocks were closed for the show) and with a high visibility tent, 2017 Volt and her enthusiastic owner, and great signage pointing Main St. participants to the EV offerings. We had a Model 3 owner who was attending the show go to collect their vehicle and joined us on Electric Ave. for several hours unplanned. So much fun! The Mayor of Walla Walla, Barbara Clark, stopped by and received some good information from Garrett Brown, president of the Mid-Columbia EV Association about the need for charging infrastructure.
Yakima	Yakima, WA	The highlight this year was Cecil who brought a mini-electric Bus, Fire Engine, and Army vehicle for the children to ride. Our event featured a few Volts, a couple of Leafs, a Tesla, a Honda, and a Fiat. Cars were lined up and owners talked about the features of their particular vehicle and a few gave rides. Those who chose to take a ride commented on the quietness of the ride. Gary Nystadt [a Leading Force Partner representing Ellensburg Solar], drove the Fiat commenting it had some get up and go! Unfortunately, there was no support from local dealerships, even after personal calls and visits. A BIG THANK YOU National Nissan! Everyone loved the donated items, especially the kids in attendance! We are looking at doing something different next year, especially after learning there are over 200 EV registered cars in Yakima County.
Appleton	Appleton, WI	New location that provided solar powered Charge stations was a fantastic venue and should be repleted . We had twin red Tesla model 3 Volts Bolts and Leafs as well as a Prius prime plug in .the most interesting home built EV was a child’s toy...modified for higher speed and more range. A demonstration of home chargers was provided and many vehicles were seen in the process of charging .
Greenfield	Greenfield, WI	What just happened at the D$W hosted NDEW event on Saturday... a lot! First off, I want to thank all our volunteers with special thanks to Marie/Justin for their support and encouragement and to Ben Nelson for his leading the EV Owners Forum in the library. We all need to also thank Greenfield Mayor Neitzke, and several City Council members, Fire Chief Cohn along with Sheila O'brian and Michelle Scaffe from the Greenfield Library for their help in getting this educational event legalized. (long story). Here are some of the metrics that don't do justice to the spirit and flavor of the days excitement: - 22 cars on site, 10 different makes - 13 vehicles available for ride/drive with 58 people going out for the EV experience - 63 people participating in the 2 hour EV Owners Forum - 83 info packets on electric vehicles handed out - 32 sign ups for D$W membership Though numbers are hard to figure since both events were happening at once, my best guess for total numbers based on observation and conversations with owners/volunteers is close to 150 individuals that came to our first NDEW event. It was a long 5 hour day but if the purpose was to support, train, educate and promote (remember our D$W STEP Program) the public on EV's, then we should all agree it was a great success. Thanks to Marie, Justin, Ben, Joe, Dorothy, Gary, Teng, Jerry and Dennis for pulling off the largest EV event ever held in SE Wisconsin.
Madison	Madison, WI	Another great National Drive Electric week event. Sunshine, vehicles , and plenty of owners sharing their EV enthusiasm. The variety of vehicles ran the gamut. From personal mobility devices, to compact cars, to luxury sedans, and even SUVs towing a camper! Looking forward to seeing everyone at future events.
Martinsburg	Martinsburg, WV	We had a very well attended and enthusiastic event for our first try at this. We were worried earlier in the week about the path of the hurricane but were able to hold it nevertheless as the storm stayed down south. The sun actually came out for a short period to the delight of the assembled crowd. On Thursday evening we were presented with a proclamation from our Mayor Karos to help promote our event in local govt. We had a large variety of EV's and plug in hybrids to show the general public, including the new Volvo SUV hybrid which was brought from a local dealer. We had refreshments, door prizes aplenty, and a gift certificate from our local Nissan dealer for $500 off purchase of new Leaf. We discussed how solar energy tied to charging EV's was the best way to go as far as pollution is concerned. We talked about WV's net metering law and how it can benefit citizens interested in going solar. We had a special guest attend from 300 miles away, Marty Weirick the president of WV EAA attended and gave a nice presentation. All in all I would say it was extremely successful and we will more than likely do it again next year.
South Charleston	South Charleston, WV	We receive a letter from US Senator Manchin congratulation us for our event. Earlier one of our officers had written to his office inviting him to the event.
Jackson	Jackson, WY	We hosted our event at the 8 Tesla charging stations located at the Whole Grocer in Jackson, WY. It was simply an EV meet-up for EV owners and those interested in becoming owners. We had 10 owners attend and a half dozen others who were interested in owning. Everyone loved and commented on the casual nature of the event. Rather than having presentations everyone just chatted and opened their vehicles for everyone to check out. We were located where anyone entering or leaving the grocery store could see us, so even if they did not stop by they still were exposed to a group of folks excited and geeking out about electric vehicles.
Lander	Lander, WY	We joined a Air and Car show so we had a lot of traffic.
Calgary	Calgary, AB	EVAA and the Solar Energy Society of Alberta teamed up for a wonderful exchange of information. SESA had presentations about solar, EVAA members showed off their vehicles and spoke about the synergy of solar + EV.
Edmonton International Airport	Edmonton International Airport, AB	Despite the sudden snowstorm that lasted throughout the day, we are ecstatic that we still had 28 EV's representing 15 different models at NDEW Edmonton. This is our largest showing to date. We also had the only in service all-electric full-sized school bus in western Canada exhibiting too! We regret to report that no insurance company would insure us, the Electric Vehicle Association of Alberta, to conduct test rides/drives for this event. General insurance only. We reached out to other Canadian EV organizations prior to the event and they had the same issues as we were experiencing. The weather really was unpleasant and are very pleased that about 200 people still came out to participate in the event.
Kelowna	Kelowna, BC	It was a good event. Planning to advertise more next year. Hoping to get more people to come out to the event.
Sechelt	Sechelt, BC	Sechelt Is Plugged In! The 4th Annual Sechelt Electric Vehicle Festival held on Sept. 15th was a huge success with over 1,000 people taking the opportunity to meet owners and admire the latest in automotive transportation. An outstanding 45 electric cars joined the event, including all mjor EV modes in production currently! All Tesla models, including the new Model 3, were in attendance as were Chevy Bolt and Volt models, Fiat 500s, Kia Souls, BMW i3s, Nissan Leafs, Ford Focus EV, Mitsubisi Outlanders and MiEV’s and more. In addition, an electric motorcycle was on display as well as a prototype vehicle from Lang Labs. Several residents enjoyed the show while riding their electric scooters! Owners came from all parts of the Coast, Vancouver and as far away as Minnesota. Test drives on electric scooters were a big hit. One of the highlights of the festival was the Tesla Model X “dance” which is hidden in the computer system of the car and, when activated, plays music, flashes lights and flaps the falcon wing doors. Victoria	Victoria, BC	The event went off without incident and all participants and volunteers remained in spite of rain. Three local governments supported our event this year by co-hosting the discussion segment. Our volunteers provided an EV shuttle service to the discussion and free lunch served at the discussion about EV charging in Multi Unit Residential Buildings. Approximately 50 interested citizens and 8 technical experts participated in break-out discussion groups to explore; legal barriers to EVSE in MURBs , working with condo councils, the technical and social barriers to deployment of EV charging in common areas of condos and apartment buildings, and EVs 101- living with and EV. Our crew were well cared for with a "zero waste" all day breakfast buffet service and crew remained on site until the last tent and chair was packed away. It was difficult to motivate some Scenic Ride EV owners (ironically local EV club members) to maintain a ride-ready stance rather than turning the event into a typical park-and-chat. By opening their hoods and doors they miscommunicated to some EV-ride guests that the rides had ended and the cars were not available. The barriers to EV adoption are mostly social and some are caused by us, EV owners. Volunteers were asked to let the cars do the talking and let our guests' inner voice "drive change!" Unfortunately, some EV owners are so proud to be part of this movement they are unable to suppress their exuberance. This demonstrably hindered the EV ride experience of some of our guests. We communicated the event themes clearly at the beginning of the event but it's even difficult to get volunteers to adhere to a philosophy they have agreed to when the EV spirit carries them away. We had many compliments about the test drive segment of the event despite the traffic jam in Scenic Rides. We still can't control the weather, but we had fun inviting dozens of local motorists to Drive Change! Maybe our next event should be only Test Drives?
Winnipeg	Winnipeg, MB	This was a tough day for our event, raining the first 3 hours. Plenty of people still attended, but down significantly from last year. We had a Tesla Model 3 from a member. Definite one of the stars of our show this year. Other interesting exhibitions included a Model X, several Model Ss, many LEAFs, a bus, a Citicar and a 20 ft pontoon boat. We shared the venue with Rise for Climate Action Winnipeg. Likely why attendance was still fairly good. Ross Redman gave a simple speech: I have driven an EV for 7 years. It creates zero pollution ANYWHERE, not even at the hydro dam. Each year it creates less CO2 then one litre of gasoline. There are options. You don't have to give your money to oil companies and pipeline companies. Drive an EV. The Environment Critic for Manitoba attended (an opposition member in the Manitoba Legislature, who supports electrification of all transportation).
Dieppe	Dieppe, NB	For our 2nd annual National Drive Electric Week in Moncton, we attended a local Auto Cruise Night event. We displayed our vehicles Electric Mileage signs, demonstrated Level 1 charging, distributed EV Model/EV fact sheets, and answered any and all types of electric vehicles questions. 1 Nissan Leaf and 1 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
Halifax	Halifax, NS	This year's event had 6 local EV owners offering ride alongs, as well as 2 dealerships - 1 offering test drives and 1 with a showcase of their EVs. There were also ~8 other EVs on display from local EV owners, and two electric bicycle companies offering test drives. Lion Electric Co. also provided an electric school bus to display for the day, and there were 20 Nova Scotia Power volunteers helping out. The event also featured research from Dalhousie University, and a kid's electricity demonstration provided by The Discovery Centre. NSP provided a free BBQ to attendees.
Brampton	Brampton, ON	Never rained by weather reports all day were VERY bad rain and high winds - about 1/2 turn out to last year - but still a great event - 27 cars and drivers - special events - see pic
Etobicoke	Etobicoke, ON	The 2018 NDEW event in Etobicoke was hosted by Toronto Electric Vehicle Association (TEVA).
Kitchener	Kitchener, ON	This is our fourth year hosting an event in Waterloo Region, we had record breaking number of EVs register (over 100) and a record amount of people register (over 270). We had sustainable vendors, solar hot dogs, a photo booth and kids games. The great weather helped as well. See you next year!
Sudbury	Sudbury, ON	N/A - next year we will have a much larger event space!
Windsor	Windsor, ON	A beautiful day in LaSalle, Ontario featuring a wide selection of cars on display. In a demonstration of cross-border cooperation, we had EV owners from nearby Michigan cross the border to attend our event while some of the Canadians crossed the border the following week to display at a NDEW event in Ann Arbor. We fielded lots of great questions from members of the public and EV owners were able to share notes and make new connections. All in all a great day!
Regina	Regina, SK	We had a great event and it keep growing every year.. We got proclamation again this year..
Swift Current	Swift Current, SK	We had the local papers and media one city council official. People came from 800km away for the event.
Whangarei	Whangarei, New Zealand	"Whangarei New Zealand's Most EV Friendly City" Lived up to its name during the International Drive Electric Week 2018. We enjoyed fantastic Spring Weather and the Whangarei Farmers Market Proved to be a favourite with over 265 people directly engaged, over 35 test drives and lots of in-depth questions. We have seen the level of questions go from curious to serious. Petrol prices are $2.35 per litre and going up. We also had the new Hyundai Kona, 2018 LEAF, Renault Zoe, E-Golf, Tesla Model S and a guest appearance from EVIA the restored 1956 Ford Fairlane. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/northern-advocate/news/article.cfm?c_id=1503450&objectid=12121106 Our static display at Whangarei District Council main Foyer attracted lots of attention and we ran through more than 300 fliers about EVs.
