Our event was sort of spread out so it was a challenge to get a photo of everything going on. In this photo you can see the BMW dealership and the Baker Motors dealership represented there. We had several Chevy Volt car owners, Nissan Leaf car owners, Tesla Model S and Roadster car owners, one Smart car owner that came out at various times of the day. We also had the Google Electric Shuttle on display, which was perfect as Charleston is currently considering options for their Public Transportation system.

This is a picture of the University of Pennsylvania REV1 electric racer (REV1) that won the SAE International competition. REV1 took first place among electrics overall, winning seven of the eight categories even over schools such as MIT and Carnegie Mellon. REV1, with a 2.6 second 0-60 acceleration even beats the Tesla Model P90D Ludicrous mode. Next to the REV1 to the right is Michael Parent, an MBA student at U Penn. On the left is Chris Martin, who organized all audio for the event and is a micro grid and energy management consultant. Richard just returned in June from a fact-finding and training mission to Milan Italy to the factory where the cars are being built. The guy at the far right with his back to the camera is Tim McLeod, GM of AEL&P. His Volt is the grey one with "Volt" across the side. That was the first EV in Juneau. John Cooper is the guy in the blue shirt in the middle of the photo, he is Facilities Manager at the Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute. I'm not sure about anyone else in the photo. The PT Cruiser is a home conversion vehicle, and the boat in the background is powered by Torqeedo electric outboards being sold by Tongass Rain Electric Cruise, a local company working to build a 47 passenger, 50' displacement catamaran to take folks on zero-carbon whale watching tours beginning in 2016.

National Drive Electric Week in Las Vegas, Nevada - kickoff event at Springs Preserve on Saturday, September 12th from 10 AM to 4 PM. Over 45 vehicles arrived onsite during the event, including about 20 Nissan LEAF owners and their vehicles. 140 people visited during the day. Three ChargePoint SAE J1772 AC Level 2 stations provided electricity sourced from the sun by overhead photovoltaic solar panels. The panels are mounted on rotating beams that track the sun as it moves through the sky above. The second annual Electric Juice Bar Crawl took riders on a tour of other local EV recharging sites.

We had over 45 vehicles of all makes. We had a Fisker, Chevy volts, Nissan Leafs, Many Teslas, Smart ev, BMW i3's, Ford Focus-Electrics,C-Max,Fusion, Rav4 ev, S-10 Conversions, Midget ev Dragster, Mitsubishi i, Zero Motorcycles, and neighborhood vehicles. Since we had our event as part of a weekly McDonald's Car Show at the Scottsdale AZ Pavilions. Even though temperatures peaked at 104 deg F, at 4pm, we had plenty of spectators and new EV enthusiasts. See you next year.
