Event Report

Our fourth NDEW event in the eastern panhandle was a great success and you couldn't have asked for better weather! The Black Dog Coffee Company/Junction Mercantile was a great site host and everyone enjoyed having access to restrooms and great coffee. We had attendees of all ages interested in EVs and talking with owners and attendees from West Virginia and surrounding states. Many attendees commented how grateful they were to have a local event in West Virginia to speak with owners about EVs and appreciated the NDEW giveaway bags.

I'd like to add a special thanks to Kent Parsons Ford for providing the hard-to-get F-150 Lightning electric truck for display! The F-150 was able to provide a top up charge for a Zero electric motorcycle in attendance and it was a great display of vehicle-to-load capability.

Event Description

Join us in the beautiful eastern panhandle of West Virginia for our fourth annual National Drive Electric Week event! Area EV owners will be showing electric vehicles from various manufacturers. Regardless of the make or model, you can be assured of no or low fuel costs and an all electric grin! We will offer electric vehicle rides for those not yet initiated and answer questions from the public on what it's like to drive an EV, charge an EV, use solar with an EV, etc.

This year's event will be held at The Black Dog Coffee Company on Route 9 between Martinsburg and Charles Town, WV. You can pick up your favorite hot or cold coffee beverage, enjoy a snack, and check out the EVs, ask questions of the owners, and take an all electric ride. There will be restroom facilities available. Black Dog Coffee is centrally located to Hagerstown, MD and Winchester, VA and we encourage our out-of-state neighbors to make the easy drive on I-81 to Martinsburg and then head a few miles east to Black Dog Coffee.

For Tesla owners, there is a Supercharger at the Sheetz station on Edwin Miller Blvd off of I-81. There are non-Tesla L2 chargers located at Martins Grocery at the Foxcroft Mall and several other locations in Martinsburg and Charles Town (check PlugShare.com).

NOTE FOR EV OWNERS: By attending this event, you agree that allowing the public into your car, test rides, or test drives are solely at your personal discretion and that you are completely responsible for any and all damages that may result. You also agree that test rides or drives must take place on public roads and not on airport property and that you will obey all traffic laws.
