Event Report

Drive Electric Dayton (DED) held their EV Ride & Drive event at Carillon Historical Park from 4pm to 7:30pm on Sep 28. Local dealers were invited to display their new and pre-owned EV models and allow rides and test drives. Matt Castrucci KIA brought a white KIA Niro EV and sold it at this event. Millennium Reign Energy brought a Toyota Mirai hydrogen-powered EV. Volunteer 33 EV owner members of the DED group will brought a wide range of electric vehicles for display and/or driving. Carillon parking lot allowed easy access to local roads for test drives. All the Teslas and VW ID.4's attracted attention and rides. The Bolt EUV won at lest one future buyer, as did the Mach-E. 12 walk-in guests reported that they were either likely or very likely to buy an EV as their next vehicle.

Tesla-certified electrical contractor A-Abel were on station to brief the EV-curious about installing a home charger.

Full-service charging installation and management company Electrada attended.

ShowDogs HotDogsā€™ food truck was positioned to provide high-end hot dog sustenance.

Carillon Historical Park was a wonderful venue in and of itself and inside the modern building were a plethora of displays about Dayton's history as a crucible of invention, from the airplane, starter motor, air conditioning to the pop can opener. Entrance to the museum and park was not free, whereas our NDEW event was free.

Event Description

 

All attendees and volunteers are required to wear face masks whenever they are within six feet of another person at all National Drive Electric Week 2021 events. Please see this information about how to improve how your mask protects you. For more information, see our in-person event safety requirements.

Drive Electric Dayton (DED) will organize an EV Ride & Drive event at the Carillon Historical Park on Tuesday, September 28th from 4pm to 7:30pm. Local dealers will be invited to display their new and pre-owned EV models and allow rides and test drives. Volunteer EV owner members of the DED group will bring a wide range of electric vehicles for display and/or driving. Carillon parking lot allows easy access to local roads for test drives. 

We'll invite local solar roof contractors for those interested in driving on sunshine. Carillon Historical Park is a wonderful venue in and of itself  and inside the modern building a plethora of displays about Dayton's history as a crucible of invention, from the airplane, starter motor, air conditioning to the pop can opener.
