Event Report

The weather didn’t behave but that didn’t stop the Monadnock Energy Hub and volunteers, the EV owners, and Nissan of Keene from coming out to talk all things electric. We had car owners, e-motorcycles, and e-bikes on hand for ride and drives and some providing electric eye candy!

With the rain – the crowds were a bit smaller than anticipated but the conversations were diving deep into the benefits of owning electric vehicles. Attendees took advantage of the 9 different cars trying out multiple styles/companies and getting a feel for the plug-in hybrid compared to the fully electric vehicles.

We even attracted a Tesla X that was at the nearby hotel to stop by and join our group much to the pleasure to two young boys who couldn’t help themselves going in and out of the car! We all know how much fun an X can cause!

We also had surveys with giveaways to take the sting out of filling out a paper form. Stonyfield Yogurt supplied free yogurt & hats embroidered with ‘Make Earth Cool Again’. These were giveaway hits! You can see in the image the green hats – EV owners got one for volunteering their time! We believe in rewards and our EV owners well deserve to be rewarded for donating their time!

We can't wait until next year when we can the local band, like-minded tablers, and e-drivers can all be closer together to enjoy all that comes with learning about the benefits of the EV lifestyle! Til next year - let's get out there and promote EVs!

- Electric Vehicle Charging

Electric vehicles need charging stations to fuel up - ones that will charge quickly and those that work overnight. Come and learn the differences - and why Fast Charging Stations make sense right along the bustling Main Street of Keene - to help our native EV owners and attract EV tourism.

We are going to have EVs from dealers and private owners. These EVs are going to be located in an adjacent lot - across the Rail to Trail - take a look at what is available - ask the dealers and owners what it is like to drive and own an EV. (We can tell you - you will learn how the pick up is AWESOME and the maintenance is almost non-existent!)

You will also get a chance to talk about how to install a charger in your home garage to charge overnight - it isn't difficult or that costly - just call your local electrician!

So - come with your questions - and get ready to do some number crunching - because the cost of an EV isn't as high as you might think when you look at the energy and maintenance cost savings PLUS rebates that exist on some EVs. Owners will give you their numbers - you can learn from those who have lived the EV life here in New England!
