Event Report

Northwest Ohio's sixth annual Ride and Drive event was completed Saturday, September 14 with the help of many dedicated EV owners and event organizer Electric Auto Association of Northwest Ohio.  The Town Center at Levis Commons once again served as beautiful and busy background for this year's event.

This year's Ride and Drive assembled eighteen plug-in vehicles with a combined 554,000 miles of driving.  Many purchased their EVs new, but a surprising number of owners also discovered the value of purchasing used.

Foot traffic through the Ride and Drive lot was brisk all day.  EV owners shared their driving experiences and answered questions to hundreds of curious guests who stopped to view these great vehicles.  It was common to hear stories of these Ohio EV owners who have traveled throughout the east-coast and southern states using their Apps to help them find charging locations.

The weather could not have been better this year.  Temperatures were mid 70s with partly cloudy skies and low humidity.  This was a great benefit to improving foot-traffic throughout the day.  The Levis Commons shopping complex offered a great location that turned nearby shoppers into curious patrons who inevitably took part in an EV ride or road-test.  Many thanks to Levis Commons staff for providing this great venue!

I want to offer many thanks to the diligent volunteers, EV owners, and sponsors for this year's Ride and Drive.  It won't be long before we begin planning next year's Ride and Drive and we are looking forward to a bigger-and-better event in 2020.

Event Description

Ahhh, September is here!  We are just days away from the September 14th, the start of the 2019 National Drive Electric Week!

My name is Michael Hall, president of Electric Auto Association of Northwest Ohio.  Please join us for the 2019 National Drive Electric Week ride-and-drive event on September 14.  The beautiful Town Center at Levis Commons shopping complex in Perrysburg, Ohio will be the host site again for this year's event.

We have secured the corner of Levis Commons Boulevard and Hollendbeck Drive for Saturday, September 14.  This is three blocks into the complex, entering from Dixie Highway.  On the right you will see Bar Louie restaurant; we will occupy Hollendbeck street to the right.

We have a very nice mix of EV owners willing to display their personal vehicles; no salesmen and no dealers this year.  Come, ask questions, feel, touch, drive these fine machines.  The future is here today....come experience it first-hand.  Nationally, this year's Ride and Drive is likely to have the most participation ever, with EV owners gathering throughout the week who have logged millions of miles of clean EV driving.

Come - smell the fresh air - join us 11:00AM to 4:00PM this Saturday, September 14.

Respectfully submitted,

Michael Hall, President EAA of NWO
