Event Report

We again had a very nice event however the weather did not create the Sunshine and Rainbows that would have made it perfect.

Enthusiastic Evers and some interested soon to be EV drivers made up for the weather.  i guess we must be thankful that rain fills the hydro dams and that is where a large part of the EV Kilowatts are generated.

We hope next year to have the local utility run test drives.  They did so at a few locations earlier in the year and our EV owners supported them with great EVs on display.

In Washington State is we are having an effect on policies that encourage EVs.  For example the sales tax is now reduced for both new and used EVs.  And Some cities are increasing the local fast charging stations.  An example is a new row of Tesla Super Chargers in Issaquah near the Fred Meyer Store.

Issaquah is near a lot of tech workers homes so perhaps that explains one of the reasons we are seeing more Teslas and in fact more Leafs as well.  As you can see we had a good sampling of EV models so that the public had a number of different EVs to compare.

Thanks also go the the sponsors of National Drive Electric Week, Seattle Electric Vehicles Assoc. and the Tesla Owners Club who always brings a colorful variety.

Event Description

Electric Vehicle shows are held May 5th, 2019 and September 15th.

Our Fall National Drive Electric Week show hosted by the Seattle Electric Vehicle Association will again take place in the Electric Vehicle friendly city of Issaquah, a short drive east of Seattle right off I-90. The location is the historic Triple X Root Beer Drive-In: a monument to the history of motoring and a regional destination famous for its weekly car shows.

Washington State is one of the top markets for Electric Vehicles (EVs) in the country! Not only are EVs becoming more popular, but increasingly stylish models are appearing on the market from various auto makers, including:

Nissan ● Ford ● Tesla ● Smart ● Chevrolet ● Toyota ● Fiat ● Porsche ● Honda ● Mercedes ● Kia ● VW ● Mitsubishi ● BMW and many others

Registration is FREE. If you want to show your plug-in electric vehicle, register now. Space is filling up!

See production and vintage conversion vehicles on display. Talk to owners about their experiences driving EVs. Enjoy music, prizes and our special guests. Come see what is new in the world of electric driving.

Last September we had 59+ EVs on display representing more than 1.5 million oil-free miles! The event also included lots of fun activities such as a scavenger hunt with prizes, three student robotics teams and some great exhibits by Puget Sound Solar, Torklift Central and several other vendors.

Our special guests represent the breadth of enthusiasts and leaders in the community of drivers, business, and government.
In prior years, our VIP guests included White Zombie's John Wayland, Issaquah Mayor Fred Butler, state Representative Chad Magendanz, King County Council Chair Larry Phillips, and Charles Knutson Senior Policy Advisor Washington State Transportation & Economic Development.

RSVP to our complimentary registration below and get one FREE raffle ticket with prizes such as manufacturers test drives, Triple X Rootbeer burgers, EV merchandise, local vendor gifts, and more!
